2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There were a bevy of beauties on the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday (September 10), joining Alexis Bedel and Angela Bassett.

Kathryn Hahn: The actress smoldered in vintage Valentino from Shrimpton Couture. Crafted out of the designer’s signature shade and finished with ruffled sleeves, this ensemble shows that the comedienne can be a serious fashion player.

Laverne Cox: Never one to shy away from a sexy dress, she disregarded the legs, boobs and bum police with this sultry MikaelD gown. I salute Laverne for managing to find the perfect pose to show off all of the dress’s assets, as well as her own. Further recognition goes for elegantly styling the dress with a gold Edie Parker clutch, dark lipstick and soft updo.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men didn’t take a break this weekend either, with the 2017 Toronto Film Festival summoning many of them to the red carpet—plus a few other occasions.

Bill Skarsgard: At the ‘It’ Stockholm premiere, Bill wore a tweedy, printed Bottega Veneta suit that he enhanced with the deep navy dress shirt. I just wish he had buttoned the top button of his jacket.

Alan Cumming: At the ‘Battle of the Sexes’ TIFF premiere on Sunday (September 10), Alan showed off his quirky style in a Stella McCartney double-breasted pinstriped suit. The tapered pants didn’t really do the look any favours, and I generally have the same reaction to men’s platform shoes as I do to women’s—being.

Aubrey Drake Graham: At ‘The Carter Effect’ TIFF premiere on Saturday (September 9), the entertainer dressed up in a Prada ensemble that was emboldened by its aubergine palette.

Alexis Bledel In J. Mendel – 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Alexis Bledel picked up the Emmy for ‘Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series’ for ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ on Sunday (September 10) at the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and she used the platform of her acceptance speech to speak about the show’s partnership with Change.org. A move she said was designed “to encourage us all to take action…sign up, speak up and stay awake.”

This explains why she wore the blue ACLU ribbon, which a lot of celebs wore in support of the American Civil Liberties Union during this year’s Oscars.

I love the ethereal feeling of her J.Mendel Resort 2018 gown which looks like she’s floating on a blush-pink cloud.

Cut to a beautiful floor-skimming silhouette, this really has a dream-like quality to it.

Opting for a deep-rouge lip, her award-winning look was complete with the ‘Lilla Venetian’ brocade Hayward clutch and CSARITE by Nak Armstrong ‘Lotus’ dangle earrings which accessorized.

Angela Bassett In Romona Keveza – 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Angela Bassett glided down the red carpet on day 2 of the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 10) LA.

The actress who celebrated her 59th birthday last month – I kid you not – wore a red mermaid gown featuring an architectural one-shoulder neckline from the Romona Keveža Spring 2017 collection; which only served to enhance her radiant beauty.

She doesn’t get older, she just gets better.

I’m stunned. Left in absolute awe and in desperate need to figure out her diet, beauty and fitness regime so I can follow it to the letter.

Cesare Paciotti heels and a white – slightly distracting – clutch completed her BDOTW worthy look.

Zosia Mamet In Miu Miu – 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Zosia Mamet channeled her inner golden girl for the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday (September 9) in LA, where she joined Julianne Hough and Susan Kelechi Watson.

And, I’m so glad she did, as her entrance was notable for two reasons. Not only was this a prime example of a Miu Miu gown done so right for the red carpet—with just the right amount of glinting embellishment, too— it was also a shining moment for Zosia who has never looked better.

From the dress, to her hair and makeup, this was a classically elegant turn for the ‘Girls’ actress.

While I’d be willing to bet she still had on platform shoes underneath the plisse skirt, they were thankfully out of sight and out of mind.

Were you as impressed by Zosia as I?

Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Carolina Herrera – 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Jenna Dewan-Tatum was also in attendance at the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday (September 9).

Opting for an inky monochromatic look, the actress wore a navy Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 gown with a sheer skirt and a layered bodice of tulle and shimmering navy fabric.

The blue smokey eye served as a way to tie the look together. However, coupled with the gown’s high neckline, it proved a tad too much.

I would have preferred to see one fabric in the bodice, so there would not be as many competing elements.
