Julia Roberts In Valentino – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Julia Roberts In Valentino - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Julia Roberts was also in attendance at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held on Saturday (August 16) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California, where she was spotted inside with her husband Daniel Moder.

The actress has been on amazing form ever since her promo tour for ‘August: Osage County’, so I am glad to see that continue for this event.

Looking amazing wearing a meticulously designed Valentino Resort 2015 jumpsuit featuring one long sleeve, an asymmetrical neckline and a scarf detail which drapes down the back, she styled her contemporary piece with a black and gold Jimmy Choo ‘Charlize’ clutch.

Glossy waves and glossy pink lips completed her look, which was my favourite of the night.

Judy Greer was also in attendance at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held on Saturday (August 16) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

Returning to her more understated style, she wore a Reed Krakoff black cocktail dress with a geometric embroidered bodice.

In keeping with the more refined, minimalist approach, she paired the frock with lightly embellished, black ankle-strap sandals, a small metallic Kotur clutch and nude makeup.

A red lip or a polished updo would have taken this look to another level.

Kate Mara In Christian Dior – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Kate Mara In Christian Dior - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Kate Mara couldn’t be missed as she made a bright showing at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held on Saturday (August 16) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

Her embroidered yellow wool and pale-pink quilted crepe dress from the Christian Dior Fall 2014 collection was certainly a bold colour choice, made all the more intense with the sun’s rays on the red carpet.

The cold-shoulder frock lost some of its runway sensibility, as a pucker here and a crumple there marred some its streamlined appeal—not that I can call this particular Dior dress one of my collection highlights.

Dior metallic and nude sandals, alongside an embellished hair clip at the back of her sleek bob, completed Kate’s entrance.

Cat Deeley In Sachin & Babi Noir – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Cat Deeley In Sachin & Babi Noir - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Cat Deeley was also in the mix at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, hosted on Saturday (August 16) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

The TV personality and host actually surprised me by wearing a Sachin & Babi Noir Spring 2015 top and skirt, awash in a porcelain-blue Victorian floral print that matched her Christian Louboutin pumps.

Sadly, this look didn’t work for me on many levels. For one, it was too precious and it didn’t coincide with Cat’s effervescent personality and flair for colourful, yet sophisticated style.

The cropped top also was uncomfortably snug, while the bell-shaped, high-low skirt achieved the near-impossible feat of shortening Cat’s statuesque frame.

She accessorized with XIV Karats jewels, but it was the puzzling addition of a black Christian Louboutin clutch that only decreased my affection for this style statement.

Nikki Reed In Versace – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Nikki Reed In Versace - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards
Nikki Reed attended the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday (August 16) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore a Versace Fall 2014 petrol-blue, bias-cut gown that not only featured a plunge neckline, but that was also slit-to-there and slashed through with netted seaming.

She styled the look with a selection of Dana Rebecca Designs earrings, EF Collection earrings and rings, and Graziela Gems rings, alongside a metallic clutch and silver sandals.

Between the slightly wrinkled satin fabric and the overwrought, ill-fitting design, this was just too much dress for Nikki, especially seeing that long train merely puddle on the ground behind her.

Those ombre waves and her sultry nude makeup would have been better served with a more well-tailored gown.

Heidi Klum In Sean Kelly – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Heidi Klum In Sean Kelly - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Heidi Klum was also at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (August 16).

The model-host radiantly shimmied and sashayed her way down the red carpet in a striking design that was custom-made by current ‘Project Runway’ contestant Sean Kelly.

Despite what sort of ’70s-inspired dreams this dress may conjure, it’s hard to argue with its bolt of electric blue colour that amplified the event—or the all-out fun that Heidi seemed to have in wearing it.

Styled with sky-high black Jimmy Choo ‘Mariah’ heels, Lorraine Schwartz sapphire-blue jewels and a sleek half-up, half-down ’do, the textural frock did nothing if not turn heads.

Knowing how to work a dress, Heidi gave this gown the full star treatment as she spun down the carpet. I actually loved seeing it in motion, even if it was reminiscent of automatic car wash brushes.

Yay or nay?
