Leighton Meester In Emilio Pucci – 2014 Met Gala

Leighton Meester rocked a gilded look as she made her way down the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The newly married star wore a long-sleeved, gold Emilio Pucci gown from the Fall 2014 collection.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: I love a long-sleeved look on the red carpet.

I also adore this boho-inspired silhouette, and Leighton pulls it off perfectly. Even with both a deep V and high leg slit, the whole thing manages to be elegant, not overt. I’m seriously smitten.

Keeping her perfectly ombréd lob down was a genius move that completes this chic ensemble.

Despite how much I like this look, something tells me that not everyone will agree. So, let’s hear what you think!

Lupita Nyong’o In Prada – 2014 Met Gala

Lupita Nyong’o In Prada - 2014 Met Gala

Lupita Nyong’o marched to the beat of her own (and Miuccia Prada’s) fashion drum as she hit the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala, hosted on Monday (May 5) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

I couldn’t wait to see what the actress, style-setter and Miu Miu Spring 2014 campaign model would be wearing to the Met’s fashion extravaganza. She certainly left me speechless in her custom Prada concoction.

In one of the riskiest (to put it mildly), more excessively theatrical sartorial moves of the evening, Lupita paraded out the emerald-green netted dress, assembled with glass beads, crystals and chandelier drops and enhanced with cascades of feathers down the sides and at the bottom hem.

Worn over a brown slip dress, this design had precious little in common with the refined, classic looks in the Charles James exhibit. But it’s hard to deny that she is not rocking it like a pro.

Forget the gala, Lupita’s dress was the party, and the fun only continued with her matching emerald headband, military green suede sandals embellished with large stones and a green raso clutch, all by Prada.

Her hair even seemed to be highlighted with a shade of deep plum to embolden the look further—as if it needed it.

I am still waiting for the shock to wear off. This statement will definitely go down in Met Ball history. What do you make of it?

Amy Adams In Oscar De La Renta – 2014 Met Gala

Amy Adams stunned at the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The Oscar nominee was shining, literally in an Oscar de la Renta strapless silver gown with a heart-shaped neckline.

Amy went with the all-silver theme and wore a matching clutch and long David Webb earrings. And adding to the chicness of her look was a sleek updo and smoky eyes.

While I didn’t expect anything less from Amy, I think this look is one of my favorite of the night. Flawless. Do you agree?

Chloe Moretz In Chanel Couture – 2014 Met Gala

Chloe Moretz In Chanel Couture - 2014 Met Gala

Chloe Moretz looks darling on the red carpet of the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Chloe was dressed in the Chanel Paris-Dallas collection with Chanel Fine Jewelry.

This dress is such a fun and edgy take on classic Chanel, which is chic yet age-appropriate for the young actress. The quirky collar and belt with hints of timeless tweed and whimsical layers come together beautifully on her.

Chloe’s long blonde hair in loose waves is prettily pulled back in the front to showcase a subtle smoky eye. Everything about this look gets major approval from me. A picture-perfect moment for a fashion star in the making. What is your take?

Blake Lively In Gucci Première – 2014 Met Gala

Blake Lively In Gucci Première - 2014 Met Gala

Blake Lively attended the 2014 Met Gala in New York City on Monday (May 5) with hubby Ryan Reynolds.

The face of Gucci Première women’s fragrance, wore a custom Gucci Première silk chiffon blush gown embroidered with rose-gold sparkling paillettes details.

I love the soft mermaid silhouette, the nipped in waist and the two delicate chiffon scarves which cascaded from her shoulders sweeping into a voluminous train.

It’s old Hollywood glamour at its very finest and easily one of my favourites of the night; you won’t be surprised to hear.

Blake completed her look with a pair of blush satin Gucci heels and a selection of Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

She was the one I was waiting for, and she didn’t let me down.

Claire Danes In Oscar de la Renta – 2014 Met Gala

Claire Danes looked lovely as she made her way down the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The actress wore a color-blocked satin and velvet gown from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2014 collection.

I absolutely love the unexpected color combination going on here, and the juxtaposition of the two fabrics is divine.

Also a big win for me? How completely understated the whole thing is.

While I do wish that Claire had opted for the full high/low hemline effect that was shown on the runway, the star looks stunning.

A loose updo and earrings serve as the only accents here, which is a great move–understated elegance all the way.

Zooey Deschanel In Tommy Hilfiger – 2014 Met Gala

Zooey Deschanel Credit: Getty Hollywood sweetheart, Zooey Deschanel arrived at the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) looking fabulous.

Having recently collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger to create her own line, it’s not surprising that the actress wore a dress by the designer. With feathered shoulders and an off-white satin belt and train, the gown was sheer elegance.

Zooey added sparkle to the look with a dreamy Chanel Ruban Mademoiselle necklace and a Bouton de Camélia ring in 18k White Gold and Diamonds.

As she usually does, Deschanel wore her luscious brunette curls down while her makeup focused on her lashes and lips.

I’m absolutely loving this color on her and the dress definitely rose to the occasion but I keep wanting to see her with a sleek updo! Is that too much to ask? I don’t think so.
