Lily Collins In Alexander McQueen – 19th Costume Designers Guild Awards

On Tuesday (February 21) Lily Collins attended the 19th CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards).

The actress turned to the house of Alexander McQueen and slipped into a floor-length, long-sleeve tulle gown covered in colour sequin embroidery that gave her look a dramatic feel and instant impact when she hit the red carpet.

Opting for a lining which ran the full length of the gown, she completed her look with a signature bold lip.

If you are having a slight case of deja vu, that’s because Emily Blunt wore a similar dress from the same collection last year. Despite that, this was easily one of the best looks of the night. She just gets better and better for me.

Mandy Moore In Jenny Packham – 19th Costume Designers Guild Awards

Mandy Moore didn’t get the black memo for the 19th CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards) on Tuesday (February 21) in Beverly Hills, California, which was observed by Jane Fonda and Jess Weixler.

The actress wore a Jenny Packham Spring 2017 gown which was stunning on the runway, but lost all its allure on the red carpet.

Why?

Well, it’s a case of the dreaded lining again.

While I commend Mandy for not hopping on the “sheer dress – look at my panties” trend, the look would’ve been served better had the lining run the length of the gown.

Jess Weixler In Giorgio Armani – 19th Costume Designers Guild Awards

The 19th CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards) took place on Tuesday (February 21) in Beverly Hills, California, with Jess Weixler following Jane Fonda’s lead in wearing a dramatic black gown.

Delivering a breath-taking evening silhouette, what I particularly love about this Armani Fall 2013 gown is its timeless quality.

This gorgeous gown will look just as good in 10 years time.

What I didn’t like about this look was the clutch. It has ‘after-thought’ written all over it.

A green clutch courtesy of Edie Parker or Lee Savage to enhance those emerald jewels would’ve been a preferred option.

Jane Fonda In Atelier Versace – 19th Costume Designers Guild Awards

Jane Fonda glided down the red carpet for The 19th CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards) on Tuesday (February 21) in Beverly Hills, California wearing an Atelier Versace Fall 2016 gown which couldn’t be more fitting for the occasion.

From the ultra-flattering cut to the simple, yet dynamic detailing, if you had a book of show-stopping designs, this would be in it.

As stunning as the gown is, its Jane’s regal air which takes this to another level, plus I’m a sucker for an alluring off-the-shoulder moment.
