Michelle Dockery in Erdem – 2014 British Fashion Awards

Michelle Dockery in Erdem - 2014 British Fashion Awards

Michelle Dockery returned to the red carpet at the 2014 British Fashion Awards, hosted at the London Coliseum in London, England on Monday (December 1), to present designer Erdem Moralioğlu with the Womenswear Designer of the Year trophy.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress naturally opted for an Erdem Spring 2015 dress, which she represented beautifully although I had every intention of passing it off as a bit cluttered and chaotic for comfort.

But the bold and botanical statement ultimately proved to grow on me with every passing glance, as Michelle carried off the embroidered layers of fronds and greenery with characteristic elegance.

The sheer, sexy peekaboo detailing only added to the dark mystique of the design, which was counteracted by a sense of Victorian properness via the high neckline and ankle-grazing length.

A slightly unkempt updo and desert-rose-toned makeup only added to the intrigue. She could have stepped off the runway herself.

Olivia Palermo In Emilia Wickstead – 2014 British Fashion Awards

Olivia Palermo In Emilia Wickstead - 2014 British Fashion Awards

Olivia Palermo attended the 2014 British Fashion Awards, held at the London Coliseum in London, England on Monday (December 1).

The socialite dressed in an Emilia Wickstead Spring 2015 front-slit ball skirt, which she opted to pair with a black sparkly shirt as opposed to the runway’s ivory bodysuit.

If it weren’t for the ill-placed, saggy pocket detailing on the top and the wrinkles on the wraparound skirt’s hemline, I would have been more drawn to this look. The lemon-meringue hue is tantalizing, after all.

Olivia topped it off with a smoky eye and straight, centre-parted locks, with her star accessory a striped statement clutch.

You may remember that this same Emilia Wickstead skirt was worn by Jena Malone for ‘‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′ London premiere. I’m still in love with the energy Jena brought to her interpretation of the look.

Kylie Minogue In Stella McCartney – 2014 British Fashion Awards

Kylie Minogue In Stella McCartney - 2014 British Fashion Awards

Kylie Minogue also joined the guest list at the 2014 British Fashion Awards on Monday (December 1), hosted at the London Coliseum in London, England.

The Aussie singer-songwriter glimmered in a Stella McCartney satin frock in creamy satin.

If it weren’t for the mega-stacked, bronze platform heels, I would have thought she had just escaped the bedroom donning only her ruffled negligee.

Aside from its boudoir influences, the dress’s silhouette isn’t particularly flattering at some angles, especially not with the visible bra peeking through the gaping sides.

With her strawberry blonde locks styled in glossy waves and a pretty pink-glossed smile, she can do so much better.

Charlotte Gainsbourg In Louis Vuitton – 2014 British Fashion Awards

Charlotte Gainsbourg In Louis Vuitton - 2014 British Fashion Awards

Charlotte Gainsbourg attended the 2014 British Fashion Awards on Monday (December 1), hosted at the London Coliseum in London, England.

One thing that can be said for the actress is that she is certainly one for consistency. No shock then that she rocked a head-to-toe Louis Vuitton look from the Spring 2015 collection.

LV designer Nicolas Ghesquiere won the International Designer award, so she was in good company celebrating her favoured label.

The cropped leather motorcycle jacket and patent ankle booties had Charlotte written all over them, as she downplayed the dazzle of the heavily sequined, zipper-front minidress with a dash of biker edge.

She didn’t rock the boat on her beauty look either, continuing her signature no makeup, messy hair standard.

Do you like her sartorial predictability, or are you ready to see something new?

Lily Allen In Vivienne Westwood – 2014 British Fashion Awards

Lily Allen In Vivienne Westwood - 2014 British Fashion Awards

Lily Allen turned heads with her own version of a mullet, as she entered the 2014 British Fashion Awards on Monday (December 1), which were held at the London Coliseum in London, England.

Never one to be a shrinking violet, she continued to indulge her quirky style personality in a Vivienne Westwood Spring 2015 baby-blue gown.

The short, cowl-neck dress was enveloped by a cape at the back, lending itself to a high-low effect. Unfortunately, the look translated as rumpled and ill-fitting.

For better or worse, the devilish styling helped distract attention away from the frock. Attaching a costume-y pair of gold-tipped pink horns within her melon-hued pixie cut, Lily finished the look with similarly silly and puzzling accessories. Nude pumps with teal toecaps and that metal chain handbag belonged nowhere near this concoction.

The devil’s all in the details of this mystifying look. Lily’s guardian fashion angels must have taken the day off.
