Red Carpet Fashion Awards

TV and radio personality Fearne Cotton hosted E’s ‘Live from the Red Carpet’ at the 2012 BAFTA Awards in London this evening.

As she was going to be on the red carpet for several hours interviewing celebs alongside Dermot O’Leary, Fearne embraced this season’s long-sleeved trend in a salmon-pink Moschino gown.

Her gown was cinched at the waist with a black bow belt and a bejewelled trim around the collar, both of which added a nice contrast to her vibrant gown.

Fearne played up the sweet look with a messy faux-bob.

Two diamond-encrusted bracelets and a cocktail ring completed her look.

After a brief stint with colour at the SAG Awards, Michelle Williams was back to black and white at the 2012 BAFTA Awards.

The ‘Best Actress’ nominee returned to her comfort zone in a strapless H&M Bespoke ivory-and-black gown.

This is a grand effort from H&M, but it’s certainly nothing new.

Michelle saves it with glamorous styling.

Her bold red lips and a dark manicure stand out, while a Fred Leighton for Forevermark necklace and an Olympia Le-Tan clutch add some personality.

Meryl Streep showed off a sexier, more daring side on the red carpet at the 2012 BAFTA Awards in London this evening.

Perhaps as an ode to the British award ceremony and character she played in ‘The Iron Lady’, Meryl chose to wear a look by legendary British designer, Vivienne Westwood.

Meryl teamed her signature Westwood strapless black gown with a lightly embellished corset belt and a bolero with the same sparkling details.

This is a considerably revealing ensemble for the ‘Best Actress’ nominee, who we tend to see covered up and looking drab on the red carpet.

Despite her windswept hair, which is terribly aging, unfortunately, I do love this look for Meryl.

It’s her best look so far as it actually looks like she made a real effort on this occasion.

Gold hooped earrings and a bejewelled Anya Hindmarch clutch completed her look.

It’s freezing in New York, but my goosebumps are not for the cold weather.

Tilda Swinton rocked the red carpet at the 2012 BAFTA Awards in London this evening.

She opted for another chic minimalist look, this time from Celine’s Pre-Fall 2012 for a refreshing, unpredictable change.

The look appears to be a jumpsuit in the look-book picture, but on Tilda it’s more like separates.

Once again I love what she’s done with her hair. I hope Emma Watson is taking notes.

Embellished sandals and a Pomellato cocktail ring completed her look.

Despite the Fall 2011 trend of long-sleeved gowns, our red carpet favourites like Jessica Chastain braved the cold in London tonight wearing sleeveless gowns on the red carpet for the 2012 BAFTA Awards.

Jessica wore an Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 gown.

Her pleated lamé mousseline gown with a plunging neckline was styled with a gorgeous diamond-encrusted necklace and embellished platform shoes.

The ‘can’t-clutch, won’t clutch’ actress styled her hair into loose waves and added a orangey-red lip colour to complete her look.

I haven’t seen the live pictures, but I can imagine that the pictures aren’t doing her justice as she appeared washed out in some and radiant in others.

Penelope Cruz was the unexpected attendee at the 2012 BAFTA Awards in London this evening.

The Spanish beauty selected an Armani Prive gown in a rich merlot colour which complemented her dark colouring.

Her figure-flattering strapless gown, with a draped detail which wrapped around her waist and cascaded to the floor, was a bold choice on a cold night in London.

I would say I love this look from head to toe, but I’ve never been a fan of Penelope sporting bangs.

I was hoping she would’ve grown them out by now.

Sparkling silver jewels completed her look.
