Jessica Brown Findlay In Bottega Veneta – 2017 BAFTAs

Jessica Brown Findlay also attended the 2017 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.

The English actress stunned in this orange Bottega Veneta spring 2017 gown, that had a slightly Victoria Beckham feel, circa spring 2012. The origami folds and tucks, and the ruching at the waist, draw your eye in and help contour her figure.

Jessica really suits this colour, and the long length makes her look much taller than her five foot four inches.

My only gripe with this look is that I wish she would have kept the black waist belt – it adds more shape, and helps break up the extreme pop of colour this dress offers.

Anya Taylor-Joy In Gucci – 2017 BAFTAs

You can always rely on ‘Split’ actress Anya Taylor-Joy to make a statement on the red carpet, like here, at the 2017 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.

This Gucci gown will definitely end up on best and worst dressed lists, it’s one of those polarising pieces, but personally… I love it!

The powder blue and coral work perfectly together, and the romantic, pleated layers and rounded sleeves bring a visually brilliant shape to this red carpet. And then you have Gucci’s now signature animal embroidery and delicate beading to the bust and neck line.

There’s always one star to make the ultimate statement, and I’m so glad it was Anya here.

Felicity Jones In Christian Dior – 2017 BAFTAs

Felicity Jones was also in attendance at the 2017 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.

The actress chose this full gown from the Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2017 collection, and while I love the drama of it, I don’t think the execution is red-carpet worthy.

The sheer top you see on the model doesn’t translate well on a celebrity who wants to cover up, in front of all the paparazzi bulbs. The top of Felicity’s dress looks a little cheap and unfinished, and it looks a touch too long for her too.

I think the fun of this dress is the sheer material, and the polkadot netting you see on the model. And love or loathe the visible Dior pants, I’d prefer to see this on a star who is up for taking risks.

Do you agree or disagree?

Thandie Newton In Osman – 2017 BAFTAs

Thandie Newton bought the glamour to the 2017 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.

The actress chose this LBD (Long Black Dress) from Osman’s pre-fall 2017 collection, and although it didn’t break any fashion ground, it was subtly chic, what with its deep neck line, flower embroidery and peplum waist.

At first glance something seemed different with Thandie though, and it’s her hair. We usually see her with it either whipped up in an up-do, or slicked back behind her shoulders. Here though, it looks a little unruly and not finished properly.

Her makeup was on point though, with the dark lip and smoky eye.

Laura Whitmore In Suzanne Neville – 2017 BAFTAs

Laura Whitmore attended the 2017 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.

The TV presenter went all-white in this off-the-shoulder Suzanne Neville gown, following the fashion rules to a T by not showing both leg and cleavage.

Laura actually wore Suzanne Neville – the British fashion designer – to last year’s BAFTAs too, both dresses with equal va-va-voom. And although this gown is simple in its design, it fits her like a glove. Neville is famous for her corsetry, and you can see that this gown cinches Laura in at the waist perfectly.

I love the turquoise Nadine Aysoy jewels and red lip – this dress lends itself to a statement pop of colour – and the Jimmy Choo gold platform sandals are perfect too.

What do you think of Laura’s look?

2015 BAFTAs Menswear Roundup

BAFTA Men 1

The tuxes were out in force at the 2015 BAFTAs, hosted at The Royal Opera House on Sunday (February 8). Here, a look at the fine fellows on the red carpet.

David Beckham
: The always-handsome Becks wore an impeccable midnight-blue suit, well tailored and popped with a white pocket square and perfect bow tie. I love the added dimension of the deep indigo shade. He just wears clothes so well.

Tom Hiddleston: Looking suave, the actor wore a slim-fitting Alexander McQueen black tuxedo with a white evening shirt and black bow tie. Black onyx skull cufflinks added some subtle fashion edge to his classic outing.

Luke Evans: Also opting for a midnight-blue suit, Luke’s was an Ermenegildo Zegna piece, jazzed up with contrast black lapels and a black bow tie. He could have likely seen his reflection in his hyper-polished, patent shoes, in which case it should have told him that his pants were a fraction too slouchy.
