Emma Thompson In Maria Grachvogel - 2014 BAFTAs

Unlike the other actresses, Emma Thompson was not prepared to brave the cold on Sunday (February 16) for the 2014 BAFTAs held at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The British actress donned a cream fur collared Maria Grachvogel coat on the red carpet, later removing it to fully reveal her Maria Grachvogel Fall 2014 red dress with a cowl-neckline once inside the venue.

I love the colour and how figure-flattering the dress is, but the black pointy pumps wouldn’t have been my preferred choice of shoe.

Uma Thurman In Atelier Versace - 2014 BAFTAsUma Thurman joined the list of stars at the 2014 BAFTAs, hosted today (February 16) at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The statuesque actress turned heads, for all the right reasons, in a navy-blue Atelier Versace silk cady gown with a slit in the back.

Proving that a simple look can make the biggest impact, she subtly radiated with sultry appeal in this voluptuous, curve-hugging silhouette.

A diamond choker necklace was an elegant addition that whispered, rather than shouted, its presence.

Giving us the ultimate in effortless glamour, Uma complemented the formality of the gown with a perfectly undone updo and nude lip.

No bells and whistles needed.

Alicia Vikander In Chanel - 2014 BAFTAsAlicia Vikander attended the 2014 BAFTAs today (February 16) at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The Swedish starlet seized the slightly western-influenced spirit of the Chanel Pre-Fall 2014 collection with this dress, featuring a faded red-white-and-blue embellished sheer bodice and a tiered fringe white skirt.

Despite the flurry of fringe, this statement look did translate differently on Alicia than on the Texas runway of the Chanel show.

Daintier and more delicate, the frock was completed by blue strappy Jimmy Choo ‘Xenia’ sandals, along with a bright pink lip and loose, centre-parted waves.

Imogen Poots In Givenchy - 2014 BAFTAs

Imogen Poots and Jack Huston were presenters at the 2014 BAFTAs, on Sunday (February 16) held at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

While he looked very dapper in his classic tux, Imogen opted for a bold berry hue wearing a Givenchy Spring 2014 halter gown.

Free from the dazzling sequins we saw on the runway, her cut-out gown was styled with simple black peep-toe pumps and a black manicure.

Imogen’s signature purposely messy curly ponytail was not apparent, instead she worked sleeked out tresses styled into a chic updo.

Do you like this more polished look from Imogen?

Lily Allen In Vivienne Westwood - 2014 BAFTAsLily Allen was no shrinking violet at the 2014 BAFTAs today (February 16) at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The British songstress, who performed at the awards ceremony, wore her own performance piece on the red carpet in a Vivienne Westwood Couture duchess satin concoction.

She obviously took it upon herself to breathe some vivid life into the evening’s proceedings, colouring outside the lines with this ‘Grande Bubbly Corset Gown’ in coral, pink, orange and magenta.

The spirited, clashing shades of this theatrical ball gown, which was tied with a gigantic bow at the back, weren’t the only attention-grabbers. Lily topped off the look with a pink-fringed hairpiece that radiated from her jet-black updo, along with heavy-handed, flicked black eyeliner.

Sparkling jewels from David Morris were pretty, but easily overpowered by the quirky heft of the ensemble.

It’s almost hard not to at least appreciate the spirit of her funky entrée to the show. It certainly wasn’t boring.
