Best Dressed/Pretty in Pink Award
As I hoped and prayed Freida Pinto did not let us down on the red carpet tonight, in fact she surpassed my expectations.
As we predicted she did wear an Oscar de la Renta gown, from the Resort 2009 collection.
The pretty pink dress was the perfect colour, and the 18th century Fred Leighton jewels she wore were the perfect compliment.
I hope this run will never end.

Best Asymmetrical Gown Award
What is not to love about Marisa Tomei in her gorgeous shimmering Etro Spring 2009 asymmetrical gown?
The actress walked the red carpet without her favourite Fendi clutch, which is a good thing because it would not have worked with this gown, but what did work were her nude Christian Louboutin pumps.
Brave choice for such a horrible rainy day.

Best On Trend & Best Unofficial Brand Ambassador Award
Amy Adams was on trend with her electric blue RM by Roland Mouret gown.
The mermaid gown is gorgeous. Not to over the top, very understated, very elegant. As usual Amy makes a quite impact on the red carpet.
Regular readers will notices that there is a bit of trend developing with Amy. The tends to be the unofficial brand ambassador for designers for 3 gowns, then she moves on.
Oscar de la Renta for Critic’s Choice Awards, a Pre-Golden Globe party and the Golden Globes.
Giambattisa Valli for the Motion Pictures Awards Gala, the Doubt UK Screening and the SAG Awards.
Now Roland Mouret for the Oscar nominees luncheon, the Pre-BAFTA party and now the BAFTAs.
Who will she pick next?

English Rose Award
Emily Mortimer was one of the few Brits not to stick to safe black, instead she wore a grey tiered YSL Resort 2009 gown, with a snake print bodice, and a cute velvet black bow.
Unfortunately it looks like her gown got caught in the rain.

Black Again? But I Love It Award
Kate Winslet wore a black Zac Posen mermaid gown.
Yes, I am a bit disappointed that it was not as vivacious as her electric blue Narciso Rodriguez gown, but her body is so damm amazing in this dress, that you just have to love her.

Best Vintage Award
After her pink Blumarine dress, Thandie Newton had a lot to live up too.
She does not disappoint in her black strapless vintage gown with gold detailing through-out, but I am not particularly wowed either.

Lady In Red Award
Sharon Stone was ravishing in wearing a red John Galliano Spring 2009 gown.
Not a hint of animal print. I admire her restraint.

Best Re-Run Award
We have seen this Stella McCartney gown twice before on Salma Hayek and Amanda Seyfried, but Laura Bailey’s blush pink revision is gorgeous, so all is forgiven.

Best Comeback Award
It has been a while since we saw the adorable Kylie Minogue on the red carpet in the UK, and girlfriend proved that she still has it.
She wore gold heels with her spaghetti strapped black Chanel Fall 2002 Couture dress, which had an interested detailed hem.

Just OK Award
Emma Watson is surprisingly not wearing Chanel, but Temperley London, which is a welcome relief.
That embroidered neckline is very much a trademark of Temperley, so this dress doesn’t feel particularly fresh to me as I would have hoped.

Best Necklace Award
I love the youthful glow that Goldie Hawn radiates.
She wore a black satin strapless dress - that did not squash her twins - with a stunning diamond necklace.

Best Impression of Mary Poppins Award
Meryl Streep channeled her inner Mary Poppins, as she sheltered under her umbrella from the horrendous British weather.
With her all black ensemble the legendary actress wore Fred Leighton jewels and Daniel Swarovski clutch.

Best Late Comer Award
I can not believe that I these are the only two pictures of Kristin Scott Thomas on the red carpet last night, and I had to wait until the following day to find them. I guess she arrived late on the red carpet.
Kristin looked as elegant as ever in this beaded vintage-inspired gown in midnight blue. The actress decided against fussy jewelery, opting to show off her flawless neckline instead.

Worst Dressed Award
There was a time when I used to worship the red carpet that Marion Cotillard walked on.
Now, not so much.
The face of Dior really disappoints in this lackluster black and white satin Christian Dior Spring 2009 Couture dress, and her hair is just as bad.

WHAT??? Black Again & DeJa Vu Award
This awards season Penelope Cruz has worn black to nearly every event excluding the nude Armani dress she wore to the Golden Globes.

Like the SAG Awards Penelope is wearing a haltered black velvet Azzedine Alaia gown with Chopard jewels.
I am so over her in black it’s unbelievable.

Worst Black Award
Who knew Dior could look this bad?
Gemma Arterton managed to make Dior look really bad, when she walked the red carpet tonight.
I love the single embellished shoulder and the Prada heels, but the ridiculous posing, and that tasseled has to stop.

Where Is The Colour? Award
Katherine Jenkins was the one person I would have relied upon to bring some colour to the red carpet tonight, but she let me down.
The dress is just blah, as is her hairstyle. Very uncharacteristic for the singer.

Too Much Fou Fou Award
Alesha Dixon was the host of E! Live from the Red Carpet. She did a good job considering the hellish conditions, but for a presenter her dress was too big.
A presenter is not supposed to stand out so much, which will explain why she did not get to interviews many stars.
Her dress is not to be confused with the similar Marchesa Fall 2008 gown. I believe hers is by Giovanni.

As predicted it’s a cold and rainy night in London.
The red carpet E! show was a complete wash out, as all the stars walked the red carpet carrying umbrella’s to keep dry.
The pictures are very slowly coming in, so here is a first look at Angelina Jolie wearing Armani Privé Spring 2009.
Angelina is one of those stars you can never predict, but I was pleasantly surprised with her choice.
The strapless dress had a neon yellow lining, to take Angelina away from being in just black, the calf length was also interesting, as was the fold detail on the bodice.
She wore the dress better than it appeared on the runway, so she will definitely make my best dressed list.

What a welcome relief to see the gorgeous Thandie Newton back on the red carpet.
I’ve really missed her, and it looks like she hasn’t lost any of her style when she attended this Pre-BAFTA party wearing a navy silk Chanel Resort 2009 asymmetrical mini dress.
She wore her dress with embellished heels, whilst carrying a black clutch.
Perfect in every way.

Freida Pinto was also wearing Chanel, but her haltered ruffled mini was from the Spring 2008 Couture collection.
Of all the BAFTA Award attendees, Freida’s gown is the one I am looking forward to the most tonight.

Emma Watson completes the Chanel threesome, wearing a navy dress from the Fall 2008 Couture collection.
I love the dress, and the matching satin shoes, but I can’t help wishing she had adjusted that collar better, as it looks really awkward.
I will hope to see see a different type of hairstyle on Emma in the future. I feel like I’ve seen this look a thousand times before.

Amy Adams has had her Giambattista Valli phase, now she has moved onto RM by Roland Mouret. This is the second time in a row the gorgeous actress has worn one of his dresses, and it’s a perfect fit.
This silver dress has an asymmetrical hem, and an overshot shoulder, which she opted to fold down.
She completed her look with black peep-toes, and a satin clutch.

Penelope Cruz opted for warmth over style, as she covered up her black dress with a full-length coat, whilst sporting freshly cut bangs.

Anna Friel will have PETA on her case, after wearing a fur stole, with her black corset and maxi skirt look.

Lily Allen added a burst of bright red to this black/navy event. How very refreshing.
