Jiang Yi Yan In Basil Soda Couture - 2013 Hong Kong Film Awards

The final look from the 2013 Hong Kong Awards, which took place on Saturday, comes courtesy of Jiang Yi Yan.

The actress opted for a statement-making Basil Soda Fall 2012 Couture gown.

We haven’t seen this designer in a while on the red carpet, so this makes for quite a dramatic comeback.

The moss-green gown with a stunning embellished bodice and chiffon skirt was thankfully not over-styled.

Jiang Yi Yan wisely opted out of wearing jewels, just adding a silver clutch and bold red lips to her look.

Amy Kwok In Armani Privé - 2013 Hong Kong Awards

Amy Kwok and Lau Ching-Wan also took to the red carpet on Saturday for the 2013 Hong Kong Film Awards.

The actress stunned wearing an Armani Prive Spring 2008 gown, modified from the one-shoulder version which took to the runway.

Her blush-coloured gown with delicate asymmetrical ruffled tiers may be giving you a case of déjà vu.

That’s because Cate Blanchett wore a similar gown to the 2008 Cannes Film Festival ‘Blindness’ premiere just one month after giving birth to her third son, Ignatius Martin.

Unlike Cate, Amy opted for silver accessories, including a Bottega Veneta clutch, Jimmy Choo peep-toes, a diamond necklace and drop earrings.

The clutch needed to be way smaller or non-existent, but she totally does justice to this elegant gown.

Kristal Tin In H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection - 2013 Hong Kong Awards

The 2013 Hong Kong Awards is the equivalent to the Oscars so, like Helen Hunt, Kristal Tin opted to wear a H&M Conscious Collection look on the red carpet.

Thankfully, the end result was far more pleasing to the eye.

The actress wore a strapless ivory top with cascading peplum details, with bi-colour cropped pants.

Her edgy look, which went against the grain, was styled with sparkling Jimmy Choo accessories and a linked gold-and-silver necklace.

I love this look; it’s cool, modern and I love her accessories, but I don’t think I would be happy about this look if someone arrived to the Oscars wearing this.

Pace Wu In Michael Kors - Michael Kors Chengdu Store Event

On Saturday, Pace Wu attended the event held at the Michael Kors boutique in China.

The actress/model wore a look from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection.

You were quite adamant that you didn’t like Kerry Washington’s Michael Kors red carpet look at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, but I have a feeling this look will go down a lot more smoothly.

Pace wore a yellow shift dress with a fold-over neckline and additional zipper accents to the version which took to the runway.

Opting for a matching look, she carried a Michael Kors yellow ‘Miranda’ bag and PVC pumps with a gold toecap from the same collection.

Should Pace have incorporated another colour into her look or do you not mind the matchy matchiness?

Zhang Ziyi In Marc Bouwer - 4th China Film Directors' Guild Awards

Zhang Ziyi attended the 4th China Film Directors’ Guild Awards held in Beijing, China on Friday.

The beautiful actress wore yet another Marc Bouwer gown with structured shoulders.

Her silver sequin gown was styled with Cindy Chao jewels and a silver Lana Marks clutch.

While the actress did sparkle, this look feels too one-dimensional to me – plus I’m having a strong case of déjà vu.

Does the Zhang/Bouwer collaboration continue to delight, or do you wish to see her do something different?
