Analeigh Tipton In Rafael Cennamo – 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala

Analeigh Tipton attended the 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala held at 2nd Street Tunnel in California on Saturday.

She wowed in a low-backed black Rafael Cennamo gown. The dress has some great details, including a sheer panel in the front, lacey trim and bracelet-length sleeves.

I love everything about this look. She accessorized with simple crystal studs, a cocktail ring, Rupert Sanderson pointy-toed black pumps and a black patent Nancy Gonzalez clutch.

She could have chosen bolder accessories that would stand out more, but I like that she picked ones that let the dress shine on its own.

The perfect finishing touch was her nude makeup and wispy pulled-back bun. We have been seeing this hairstyle all over the red carpet lately and I have a feeling we will continue to see more of it.

Rachel Bilson In Valentino – 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala

It’s been a while since we last saw Rachel Bilson on the red carpet, but she made a welcome return at the 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala held at 2nd Street Tunnel in California last night.

Adored more for her street style than her red carpet style, she delights in this Valentino Resort 2013 gown.

The vibrant pink animal print long-sleeve gown was statement enough, so the actress didn’t add any trinkets, just a glossy pink lip colour.

What I love most about this look, aside from the colour and print, is that it’s so unexpected.

I would wear this in a heartbeat, but I would’ve assumed Rachel to have opted for the floral cutesy dresses showcased in this collection.

Amber Heard In Valentino – 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala

Amber Heard joined a host of lovely ladies on the red carpet last night, for the 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala, held at 2nd Street Tunnel in California.

When I attended this event last year, I tripped over my jaw as Amber made her way into the venue wearing a Donna Karan gown.

She went from uber sexy in 2012, to subtle in 2013 wearing a Valentino Spring 2013 dress.

I’m sure you all imagined someone like Keira Knightley wearing this wish flower print chiffon long-sleeve embroidered gown featuring lace inserts and a rounded collar, but it’s a refreshing change of pace for Amber.

Her sexiness still manages to shine through, but in a less in-ya-face way.

Fab or drab?

Anna Kendrick In Christian Dior – 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala

I was shocked to see Anna Kendrick not wearing nude, blush or any neutral colour on the red carpet at 2nd Street Tunnel in California for the 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala.

Instead the ‘Twilight’ star donned a rich emerald-green Dior dress.

The satin frock with a bow accent was let down by some uninspiring styling.

A cute clutch, more interesting choice of heels and maybe a pretty lip colour would’ve lifted this look somewhat.

Chopard diamond spiral hair clips and matching earrings provided the finishing touches.

Alicia Vikander In Chanel – 2013 Art Of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala

You may not have heard of Alicia Vikander, a relative newcomer on the scene. The young Swedish actress attended the 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala, hosted last night at 2nd Street Tunnel in Los Angeles, California.

Unfortunately, she still has a few things to learn about dressing for the red carpet. Her Chanel gown from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection left something to be desired.

The intricate nod to India and the lustrous Paris-Bombay vibe of the Chanel runway didn’t translate once removed from that magical stage.

The champagne colour and metallic embellishment at the shoulder and waist lost its charm and didn’t feel new or fresh—and certainly not heavenly. And the sash detail tucked into the skirt pockets came off as a strange afterthought.

Perhaps I would have liked this look better if Alicia had added some intensity with a smoky eye or had done something more exciting than pull her hair into a messy ponytail.
