The ALMA Awards aired last night, and here are the stunning gowns Eva Longoria wore.

Last year she changed 8 times during the night.  This time only 7 changes.

You’ll recognise the first gown because Emily Deschanel wore the strapless version of this stunning tulle Gustavo Cadile Fall 2009 gown at the 2009 Monte Carlo Television Festival Closing Ceremony.

The main difference is that Eva’s gown has been modified to become a one-shouldered gown with a contrast eggplant sash.

I adore this gown from the colour to the tiered skirt, and I’ve been in love with it from the very second I saw it in Cadile’s showroom.

Her second gown was also by Gustavo Cadile. This time she picked a luscious green gown from his Resort 2010 collection.

This gown also has a one-shoulder detail with a fan over her shoulder for added dramatic effect to the volume of the piece.

I don’t ever remember Eva wearing green before, but the colour is vibrant and really pops against her skin.

Eva’s next look was an Angel Sanchez Bridal Spring 2009 gown.

Thankfully this one-shoulder gown doesn’t have a sickly sweet bridal feel to it, as its quite simple with just bow detail on the bodice.

She gives this look an old Hollywood feel with her retro 50s hairstyle.

I’m really disappointed I couldn’t find a full-length version of Eva’s Carlos Miele Fall 2009 gown, as I think it would have looked spectacular on her with the dual prints and the chiffon flowing train.

Those hooped earrings are huge.

I would go as far as to say this Caroline Herrera Fall 2009 gown was my least favourite of the Fall 2009 season, and I dislike it even more on Eva.

It does nothing for her.

The other gowns brings colour, texture and vitality - this is just grey, dull, and unflattering for Eva.

Oscar de la Renta gowns were the 2 final looks for Eva on the night.

I love the blush gown with the sequin overlay. This kind of colour I really allows Eva to glow.

The black and white floral gown feels like it is swamping Eva with the 2 layers. This would be my second least favourite after the Herrera horror.

Best Dressed Award
It’s been a while but Selena Gomez finally wears something that I really love, as she had been dressed older than her teen years.

I adore her pink Tracy Reese Black Label gown, especially the cute petals adorning the bodice and shoulder.

It’s the perfect gown for her both the colour and style.

Best Spring 2010 Red Carpet Debut Award
Jordana Brewster picked a stunning gown from Reem Acra’s recently presented Spring 2010 collection.

The strapless draped canary yellow gown is such an ethereal colour which adds warmth of her skin.

Perfect choice for her.

Back to Black Award
After having a very brief flirtation as a blonde, Nelly Furtado goes back to her natural darker hair colour.

She looked stunning last night wearing Elie Saab Fall 2009 black halter-neck gown with contrasting lace panel for a provocative twist.

This is her second Elie Saab look in a row.

Slightly Disappointed, But I Do Like It Award
I expected a big gown from Eva Longoria on this red carpet, but I guess she was saving them for the show.

The host for the night opted for a strapless taupe paillette covered column Oscar de la Renta dress - which slightly squash the twins - paired taupe heels.

Her hair and neutral make-up are perfect for this look.

Best Non-Supported Actress Award

Jennifer Morrison should really have worn a bra with her Herve Leger cream gown, because the twins are looking a wee bit lopsided.

Once I got over that I could appreciated how stunning she looks.

She could have easily opted for a neutral make-up, but added a dash of red to the lips for a more sultry look.

Frizz Ease Award
Dania Ramirez’ also wore a canary yellow gown, but hers was by Pamella Roland.

I love the gown and the criss-crossing ruched detail on the bodice, but girlfriend needs some serum in her hair to control that frizz.

De Ja Vu Award
Jamie-Lynn Sigler wore a gown earlier this week in exactly the same colour, but this time her gown is strapless.

I’m more excited by the necklace than the gown.

Most Disappointing Award
Salma Hayek would normally proudly show-off the twins, wear a stunning gown, or do both.

This is not a look I would associate with Salma.

The shorter velvet deep lilac modified Bottega Veneta Fall 2009 dress is hideous and so over accessorized with the two necklaces and jewled headband.

YSL metallic Trib Two heels and a matching Bottega Veneta box clutch completes this terrible look.  I really hate it.

Worst Dressed Award
I was surprised Eva La Rue was wearing a Zuhair Murad gown, because this gown is very Las Vegas show girl to me.

From the colour to the embellished neckline, it just screams tacky.

What is it with the lack of support on this red carpet?

The 2009 ALMA Awards celebrating the outstanding achievements of Latinos in entertainment takes place tonight, but will air in the US on Friday September 18.

For the first time in the history of the show, the ALMA Awards will broadcast during National Hispanic Heritage Month, a month in which all Americans learn about the Latino community and celebrate the contributions that Latinos have made to this country throughout its history.

Eva Longoria is the host alongside legendary actor George Lopez.

We can expect to see Eva wearing many stunning gowns on the night. Last year she changed 8 times during the night.

When she shot the promo for this event she wore a stunning baby blue Gustavo Cadile Resort 2010 gown, with a ruffled detail on the hip which is embellished with stunning jewels.

I adore the colour of this gown, it’s so right for her skin-tone but the gown deserved to be on the red carpet.

August 18th, 2008

America Ferrera pulled back her trademark wavy hair to show off the neckline on her striped Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2009 dress, which she wears with white Christian Louboutin Jolie Noeud Dorcet sandals.

I would have preferred something more bright and colourful on America, but she does wear this dress very well.

This is one of many dresses host Eva Longoria wore on the night.

I love the jeweled detail on her teal satin cocktail Armando Piquer dress, which is very on trend. Vera Wang sent many dresses down the runway with jeweled accents.

Eva’s bob is growing on me, but I am not liking how it is styled here.

Jessica Alba’s post-baby figure is stunning, but I think she is better than this Narciso Rodriguez bespoke gown, which is a modification of the dress that appeared in the Fall 2008 runway. The two-tone pink really does not work for me.

We are used to seeing Jessica in jaw dropping dresses, but this is just OK, and Jessica does not usually do OK, so I can’t help but be a little disappointed.

It is very hard to critique Paula Abdul, as I don’t think she takes herself too seriously on the red carpet.

This creation was worn only to stand out, not to win any Best Dressed awards.

For me this dress is good until it gets half way down her thighs, then all hell breaks loose.

Ashley Tisdale wears a bright and youthful lemon belted Bradley Bayou dress. I am glad she did not opt for a gown.

She accessorizes with a black clutch and peep-toe shoes.

Fellow Disney actress Selena Gomez did opt for a gown, but it very much has a youthful feel to it and does not drown her.

The white and grey one-shouldered Notte by Marchesa gown is beautiful as it has a very subtle floral print.

I have been going back on forth with whether I like Ana Ortiz in this lilac strapless Angel Sanchez Resort 2009 dress and I do like it, but I think I would have liked it more had the dress not had the feathered detailing, as I find them too distracting.

Also a strappy sandal would have been so much better suited to this dress, than the black pumps she wore.

The actress completed her look carrying a Mary Norton clutch.

Roselyn Sanchez is flawless as always. Her black and jeweled strappy sandals perfectly compliment her black and white printed dress.

Her hair is elegantly styled in a loose bun, which is swept to the side.

I love the colour of Dania Ramirez’ Gustavo Cadile Fall 2008 gown, but when it comes to the design I love the draping of the bottom half, and I am not so crazy about the top half.

I think had this been a sweetheart neckline gown, this would have worked much better.

Daisy Fuentes has been around for what seems like forever, and is still stunning beautiful and appears not to have aged a single day.

Her white plunge-neck gown has studded detail on the strapless and empire line which gives it more appeal, but the necklace is too chunky for me.

As is traditional for hosting an event, the host must stand out. Eva Longoria did this by changing her dress (and hairstyle) 9 times during the awards ceremony.

I particularly love the pink gown, with the large pink bow tie.

Eva made the most of her spotlight by changing 14 times, both hair and wardrobe. (Ken Paves must have been very busy)

Eva has a fantastic body and really shows it off in the red cut out dress.

My favourite of this bunch it the powder blue one shouldered dress.

The NCLR ALMA Awards celebrates artistic excellence through the outstanding achievements of Latinos in motion pictures, television, and music. The host for this year was Eva Longoria.

I love the hair, the shoes and the clutch, but I am just not crazy about the dress.

The colour is perfect on her, but the bust area is way too fussy.

Roselyn Sanchez oozes sexy appeal and it is in full effect here.

I am not sure about the polka dots, but the colour and style of the dress is perfect for her.

Jessica Alba make-up artist clearly needs to go to M.A.C. and get the right shade foundation. She is very ghostly here.

The only thing I like here is the brooch.

Salma Hayek works her cute baby bump in this navy mini dress with daring wedges. I would not wear wedges if I was pregnant. I find them awkward to walk in, at the best of times.

Ana Ortiz is wearing perfect colours for her skin tone, but like Eva’s dress the bust area ruins the dress. It looks unfinished or like there is too much material on the dress.

I don’t like Sara Ramirez’ dress, but she is beautiful here. Her smile is really infectious.

I just hate it when stars I love wear horrid clothes, and that is why I am so disappointed by Judy Reyes outfit.

I have never understood side ponytails. Eva La Rue Callahan wears a tacky side pony with a hideous turquoise gown.

Daisy Fuentes just looks plain boring. She has really lost her sparkle.
