Lauren Alaina In Steven Khalil Couture – 2018 ACM Awards

Lauren Alaina attended the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada, alongside Bebe RexhaMaren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini.

The ‘New Female Vocalist’ award winner made a strong impact in a Steven Khalil Spring 2018 Couture gown with jewelry by Erica Courtney and Gismondi 1754.

The eye-catching style had plenty to look at between the sheer fabric embellished with cascading blue and gold florals and the golden accents on the sleeves and waist.

Instead of the ‘naked’ effect from the runway, she opted for a black under-layer. It gave the look more dimension, but methinks that the gown could have benefited from doing away with one element or two. Combined with the Tyler Ellis Perry clutch, high ponytail and trailing skirt, it is certainly a lot of look.

She carried it off valiantly, but it would have been just as strong without a few superfluous details.

Bebe Rexha In Yanina Couture – 2018 ACM Awards

Bebe Rexha brought some drama to the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. She joined Maren Morris, Kimberly Schlapman and Eve.

The singer often gravitates towards black, curve-hugging styles and her Yanina Fall 2017 Couture gown played into that.

Rather than being primarily about a sensual silhouette, the rich black base was decorated with a sweeping ruffle and sheer embellished sleeves for more impact.

The lightness of the ruffle against the sumptuous strapless gown had an arresting, whimsical effect.

It brought to mind Solange’s Giles dress from the 2015 Met Gala. Just like with that style, I’m sure there will be a debate whether the singer should have worn the ruffle as shown or flipped down.

Jewels by Dana Rebecca Designs and EFFY Jewelry added some sparkle.

Maren Morris In Christian Siriano – 2018 ACM Awards

Maren Morris struck a pose at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. She joined Julia Michaels, Kelsea Ballerini and Lindsey Vonn.

The ‘Rich’ singer was clad in a form-fitting Christian Siriano Fall 2018 dress for the occasion.

I was captivated by the moody sheen of the style on the runway so I was very curious to see how it would photograph on the red carpet.

It still retained its striking multidimensional effect and caught the light in a different way with every pose.

The soft draping might be perceived as a bad fit, but the runway version proves the ruching is intentional as it helps add even more drama to the dress.

Casadei shoes and jewels from AS29, MARLI and Hearts On Fire jewels rounded out the look.

Julia Michaels In Paolo Sebastian Couture – 2018 ACM Awards

Prior to performing with Keith Urban, Julia Michaels stepped out on the blue carpet at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada, joining Kelsea Ballerini and Miranda Lambert.

The singer had an ethereal moment in a Paolo Sebastian Spring 2017 Couture dress.

Brimming with embroidery, the pastel blue frock had a fairy tale quality one normally expects from full-length gowns.

The shorter hemline and open neckline added some allure and tie in the sheer sleeves.

If I must nitpick, I wish her skirt had the flare of the runway version. On the red carpet, it doesn’t have quite the same volume.

Giuseppe Zanotti Amelia sandals increased the whimsical feeling.

Kelsea Ballerini In Aadnevik – 2018 ACM Awards

Kelsea Ballerini attended the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada, joining Nicole Kidman, Hillary Scott and Eve.

The singer, who was nominated for two awards at the ceremony, recently married Morgan Evans and this marked one of their first red carpet appearances since their nuptials in December.

Her Aadnevik Spring 2016 gown did have a bridal sentiment, but it was certainly sexier than the average wedding dress with the up-to-there slit and sheer lace panels.

Her version wasn’t as risqué as the original as it only had one slit and appeared to have a less diaphanous skirt.

The alluring details combined with the undone hair help temper the bridal feeling, making it proper red carpet gown.

Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals completed the look.
