Christian Dior Fall 2014 Front Row

Christian Dior Fall 2014 Front Row

Christian Dior presented their Fall 2014 collection during Paris Fashion Week this morning, with a celeb-packed front row.

Rihanna: Perhaps the singer wanted her red Dior Pre-Fall 2014 mink coat to be the focus of her look, because she appears to be wearing little else. Ensuring she was centre of attention, the singer wore a Dior silk black dress with suspenders and stockings, which she styled with Dior ‘Mise en Dior’ necklace and bracelet with gold finish and cream resin pearls, Dior sunglasses and Dior leather gloves.

Jessica Alba: The actress took a more demure approach, wearing a Dior striped navy blue wool and cashmere coat, black wool jacket and black wool pants styled with chic white booties with a black toecap and contrast stitching, Dior ‘Tee Shirt’ tribal earrings with golden metal and palladium finish and a white Dior clutch.

Emma Roberts: The actress made a first appearance in the front row of Dior, working a chic downtown-cool look wearing a Dior black leather perfecto jacket, pale blue silk top and black pleated sheer skirt. I love the styling; she really nailed this edgier look, adding a metallic-silver Lady Dior bag, Dior ‘Tee Shirt’ tribal earrings with golden metal and palladium finish, Bionda Castana pumps and a hot-red lip.

Rihanna In Balmain – Front Row @ Balmain Fall 2014

Rihanna In Balmain - Front Row @ Balmain Fall 2014Rihanna was front and center at the Balmain Fall 2014 runway show on Thursday (February 27) during Paris Fashion Week in France.

The sultry songstress naturally wore one of designer Olivier Rousteing’s looks from the Balmain Pre-Fall 2014 collection.

The monochromatic, army-green ensemble, consisting of tie-front jacket, wrap skirt and oversized cargo coat, exuded a sporty-sensual appeal—especially given her more skin-baring interpretation. Even so, this look still retained a certain measure of sophistication to enhance the sexy edge.

More signature RiRi rebel-rocker elements came into focus via strappy metallic heels and a collection of knuckle and midi rings—not to mention a Cleopatra black bob and insanely cool, vibrant lilac lip.

Only the likes of Rihanna could pull of this hip-hop safari statement with such aplomb. This is how to make a fierce FROW entrance. Do you agree?

Anna Dello Russo Front Row @ Milan Fashion Week

Anna Dello Russo Milan Fashion Week

A front row just wouldn’t be complete without Anna Dello Russo. And over the final days at Milan Fashion Week, she didn’t disappoint our expectations in an array of colourful, tactile, embellished and printed pieces.

Gucci Fall 2014: Wearing the same Saint Laurent Spring 2014 white one-shoulder lip embellished top and black cigarette pants that Hailee Steinfeld wore late last year, Anna channelled the 80s front row at the Gucci fall 2104 show by layering her pants over a pair of kitten heel ankle boots and accessorising with a mini metallic duffle bag. I find the single long glove an odd addition, but then this is Anna Dello Russo, and I much prefer the look styled with patent courts as it was on the runway.

Aquilano Rimondi: Channelling Spring’s global traveller trend, Anna wore an intricately and heavily beaded Emilio Pucci Spring 2014 dress to the Aquilano Rimondi Fall 2014 show. In true Anna Dello Russo style, she teamed one of her signature wide leather waist belts over the dress and added a pop of colour with a turquoise BVLGARI bag. While this is quite colourful and not your average day-look, the dress is actually quite stunning and the shoes are exotically wonderful. I think the belt is unnecessary but overall this is one of her more restrained and carefully thought-out looks.

Dolce & Gabbana: A high-shine red Dolce & Gabbana dress with Roman gold coin belt ensured Anna Dello Russo was one of the stand-out guests on the front row of the aforementioned designer’s Fall 2014 show. With ruche detailing and billowing round shoulders, this was certainly a statement-making dress that only someone with Anna’s long, lean figure could wear but it still isn’t the most flattering on Anna. The colour does however complement her deep tan and I love the fact she went for a mini bag – clearly a new favourite shape for Anna.

Marni Fall 2014: After dipping into the 80s and tribal trends, Anna pulled out all the stops for the Marni Fall 2014 show in a stand-out sports luxe look. Wearing a magnificent embellished bomber and matching pencil skirt from the Marni Spring 2014 collection, Anna teamed with chunky black zip-front ankle boots. I loved this look on the catwalk but styled with a slogan cap just makes it look slightly ridiculous. The turquoise BVLGARI bag also jars with the sportiness of the rest of the look, so altogether this is not a great look from Anna.

London Fashion Week Beauty Trend: Easy, Effortless Hair

London Fashion Week Beauty Trend Easy, Effortless Hair

Amid the intricate updos and ornate styles, there was a beauty trend we all could appreciate: uncomplicated, ‘day-two’ tresses. There’s nothing more annoying than spending over an hour fussing over your hair in the morning, but judging by these simple hair looks, the fall season might just be kind to your hair (and your time).

At Christopher Kane, models sported shiny, textured locks. Guido Palau comments that Kane wanted “the girls to look how they look”, which meant as natural as possible. Using Redken Shine Flash, he applied through the hair for glossiness and a somewhat undone, bedhead look. Then, he made a sharp center part and tucked some pieces behind the ears.

Burberry sported a similar look, but hair master Neil Moodie focused more on the natural wave of the hair, using Bumble and Bumble Tonic and a curling iron, which resulted in a styled, but not-too-styled appearance.

Center parts also made an appearance at Topshop Unique, where hairstylist Anthony Turner created sleek, straight strands. He applied L’Oreal Mythic Oil to the ends to truly make them shine. The best part? He gave each model’s mane a quick ruffle before they walked out as if they “had been up to something naughty”.

New York Fashion Week Beauty Trend: Fresh, Dewy Skin

New York Fashion Week Beauty Trend Fresh, Dewy Skin

There’s nothing better than clear, fresh-looking skin–and we saw exactly that during fashion week. From subtly sculpted cheeks to the perfect placement of highlighter, this look is not only wearable, but it’s totally easy to imitate.

The look at Diane von Furstenberg was ballerina chic. Makeup artist James Kaliardos focused on the contouring of the models’ cheeks by using different shades of concealer. He widened their eyes with a nude liner just on the waterline and topped off the lids with a creamy gray shade and a mauve lip hue for additional sheen. Finishing off with coats of mascara, he truly made the models look as if they were ready for their final bow.

Diane Kendal, for Prabal Gurung, skipped powder to keep a dewy finish for her look. She started with MAC Cosmetics Face and Body foundation as a base and then layered on a rosy cream blush, for the ultimate “flushed” appearance. Brows were brushed up, for a touch of unruly youth. Kendal wanted very little color in the lips, so she applied just a hint of foundation to tone down color.

Rag & Bone also debuted highlighted features and clean skin, but with a twist. Makeup artist Gucci Westman was inspired by Katharine Hepburn and created a contrasting, thick line of black liner that flicked into a wing at the ends. He used pointed Q-tips to clean up the liner shape, making it look really graphic.

Rose and apricot were the shade combo that Tom Pecheux used on models’ cheeks at the Ralph Lauren show. His trick to perfectly flushed apples? Instead of swiping the brush onto the skin, he pushes it in. “Otherwise it just sits on top,” he explained. The top lashes were given generous coats of Estee Lauder’s Sumptuous Two Tone Mascara in black, and the bottom in brown.

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2014 Front Row

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2014 Front Row

Normally one to draw a big A-list crowd, it was surprising to see so many British stars on the front row at The Roberto Cavalli Fall 2104 show.

Cheryl Cole: Continuing her style re-invention, Cheryl Cole attended the show in a statement-making exotic animal-print mac. With her hair slicked back, a heavy smoky eye and polished accessories it was a dramatic look but I actually quite like it. Not only perfect for the Milan culture, it really suits Cheryl and is great to see her try a more grown-up look.

Ellie Goulding: If there’s one hue to wear this season, it is blue. So it was great to see Ellie bring a dazzling hit of the on-trend shade to the front row in a floor-length Roberto Cavalli gown. Combined with the 70s-style loose flowing cut, it was a look that really suited the British singer. Following from Ellie’s questionable Vivienne Westwood dress at the 2014 Brit Awards, this is a look which really suits Ellie’s bohemian aesthetic and one I think she should stick to.

Samantha Barks: British actress Samantha Barks channelled the true Cavalli woman in a black corseted top with high-shine gold waist belt and animal print pencil skirt. Sexy and empowering, I think Samantha’s shoes are the perfect finishing touch for this simple yet effective red carpet look.

Naomi Watts In Christopher Kane – Bulgari Fall 2014 Accessories Presentation

Naomi Watts In Christopher Kane - Bulgari Fall 2014 Accessories Presentation

Making a glamorous appearance in Milan, Naomi Watts joined the fashion pack at the Bulgari Fall 2014 Accessories Presentation yesterday (February 23) in the Italian capital.

The Australian actress chose a strapless Christopher Kane Pre-Fall 2014 dress with bandage style pattern and accessories with a spectacular collar necklace

To me, it’s hard not to look good when you’re wearing such amazing diamonds but sadly the dress didn’t seem to fit quite right which is a shame as it’s really quite a unique dress and the colour is perfect for Naomi.

That aside, I think Naomi oozes sophistication and her chic up-do and soft sultry make-up up further cement this fact.
