The Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 collection on the last day of Fashion Week, gave us a glorious colour palette of fuchsia, jade, coral, electric blue, red and sunshine yellow, and glossy blacks.

Marc Jacobs gave us pompoms, ruffles, bows, Playboy bunny ears, and lot of ruching.

There was a disco-punk prom theme with lots of puffy skirts and shoulders, which created a lot of volume, as did the multi-coloured layered skirts.

Mini tulip skirts, delicate lace blouses, knit cardigans and the most beautiful black tailored skirt suits were all presented to complete this gorgeous collection.

I did get a touch of de ja vu when I saw the nude and pink dress, as it has a Lanvin Spring 2009 feel to it, but other than that this was in my top 10 shows of the season.

The accessories - as you would expect - were all lust worthy especially the LV bags and clutches. The thigh high boots, which are surprisingly popular this season, I think I’ll pass on.

Gong Li made me go gaga over her Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 accessories with her denim blouse and wide pant Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 look. She accessorized this look better than it appeared on the runway.

Milla Jovovich wore a navy short sleeved blazer with tan stretch pants all from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 collection. She added a white blouse and red belt, to differentiate it from the runway look.

Her look was complete with a Louis Vuitton Monogram Motard Afterdark bag.

Alexa Chung should have really taken time to blow out her hair before attending this show, because I really love her look, especially her LV accessories.

Miu Miu’s Fall 2009 presentation gave us an array of colours including peach, raspberry, maroon, turquoise, black, nude and gold. The Himalayan carpet prints and tiger printed pieces were very interesting.

My favourite pieces were the 2in1 sheath dresses, which had a top with a plunging neckline appearing to be tucked into a pencil skirt.

Embellishments, although heavy on some pieces, were so beautiful. They cascaded down to the tights, then onto the shoes.

Fur was everywhere from trims on coats, clutch and even fur trimmed heels.

Eva Mendes was in the front row, and she managed to make this Prada Fall 2009 two-tone mustard velvet/tweed dress work.

Jessica Alba opted for a bit more dramatic look with a furry bolero over her brown satin dress.

I’m not crazy about her overall look, but I love her studded Miu Miu clutch.

Elie Saab’s Fall 2009 presentation, gave us the expect - long sophisticated red carpet gowns, plus a different approach to elegant day-wear with graphic cuts, silk prints and structured lines, all with his signature glamour. Long, lean looks in monochrome and two-tone, present a modern silhouette.

One-shouldered pieces were a major themes of the collection, appearing on gowns and day dresses mostly with one long sleeve.

An Elie Saab collection would not be complete without a bit of bling, and he kept Beyonce happy with some gorgeous heavily embellished gowns, she will go gaga over.

The colour palette was a mix of wintery whites, silvery greys, black, dusty blue and celadon green

It wasn’t all about the gowns and day-wear, Elie also presented skinny pants, bolero’s, and cocoon shaped coats.

The collection is accessorized with strong geometric necklaces, cuffs, armloads of bracelets and a single gloved hand.

Chanel’s Fall 2009 presentation included many classic pieces like tweed skirt suits, long wool dresses, black and white pieces, and knits.

What was unexpected was the bold geometric bodysuits, the low belly button cut dresses, frilly cuffs, and the silk pants.

Apart from the black and white pieces, green and pink were also thrown into the mix.

What I loved the most from this collection, were the plastic Chanel bags. They had compartments for your classic quilted bag, your Chanel No.5 perfume, your sunglasses, your lipstick, your foundation compact, your iPod, and even your iPod earphones.

I can’t wait to see some carrying this bag. Lily Allen will no doubt get this as a gift from Uncle Karl.

Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2009 presentation was a full collection I could finally say WOW.

I was blown away from the first click to the last.

There was a lot of bird references, like in his Spring 2008 collection, with the red and black bird prints, and the feathered festooned gowns.

Other animal references were the fur coats, jackets and reptile print gowns.

Black and white houndstooth prints opened the show, with the rest of the colour palette consisting of black, orange, red and white.

I would love to see Dita in the houndstooth prints, and that red feathered gown is crying out of Blanchett or Swinton.

We often say that Charlize Theron could wear a bin-liner. I wonder if she could pull off McQueen’s 2 pieces that were made from bin-liners.

Hats, as usual, were a main feature. They were made from open umbrellas, lampshades, hubcaps, and large curlers which were wrapped in clear plastic film or bin liners.

Models faces were pale white, with a clown-like smear of red lipstick.

After a very safe Fall 2009 season, I am glad the McQueen is giving us something to marvel.

With a red sunset backdrop, Giambattista Valli’s Fall 2009 collection was a sophisticated collection of very modern pieces.

The two main themes were ankle length bell shaped skirts, and peacock feathers.

The skirts were paired with cropped jackets, blouses, and vest tops. Whilst the peacock feathers were printed, or real peacock feathered skirts, bodices, coats and jackets.

Also presented were coats, which were A line shaped, or funnel necked. High-waisted pants, metallics, bold checks, and draped dresses made up the rest of the collection.

Aside from the peacock, the colour palette was made up of petrol blues, teal blues, black, white burnt reds and oranges.

I would love to see the petrol blue and dark brown peacock printed gown on the red carpet, event the bell shaped skirts would work, on the right person.

Lanvin’s Fall 2009 was created for the chic modern woman, who likes a lot of black.

I would kill to wear every piece, but after the colourful Spring 2009 collection, I was yearning for more colour from this collection. Their was one red 40s inspired suit, with a peplum waist - peplums appeared on many pieces. A few neutrals, steel blues, and grey features, but they were very few and far between.

Fur was featured heavily, with fur trims on coats, and fur stoles wrapped around models.

I loved the dresses that had ruffles cascading down the hip, and the strong silhouettes of most of the pieces. This collection will be a hit, regardless of the colour palette.

Oversize necklaces, feathered hair bands and long black leather gloves, were the main accessories for this collection.
