Milla Jovovich For FLARE October 2012

Milla Jovovich is the October 2012 cover girl for Canada’s best-selling fashion magazine FLARE.

On the cover she wears a feminine navy Calvin Klein dress which was accessorized with statement jewellery including Fallon earrings, a CBD bangle and a Baccarat ring, whilst inside we see her wearing an edgier look from Peter Pilotto.

The model, mum and ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ star talks about dealing with anxiety on set, her mother’s tough love, and finding love with her husband Paul W.S. Anderson.

On playing an action hero in ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’: “You have to spend the whole day in this state of perpetual fear. The fight-or-flight instinct is in overdrive. It was a headache! Literally, my head would be pounding at the end of the day!”

On how she survived childhood bullying: “I knew it was so temporary. School is going to disappear, and there’s a whole future out there.”

On how her mother scared her straight: “I would always hear her whispering in my ear, ‘I’ll kill myself if anything happens to you!’ So, I kind of knew when to say no; when not to continue the party, because I whole-heartedly believed that if anything had happened to me my mom would have killed herself.”

On finding love with director Paul W.S. Anderson on the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise: “It kind of seems typical, but there’s no one else that you talk with as much as the director. If you’re going to fall in love, it’s hard for it not to happen with that person—the one you’re spending the most time with, and having the most interesting conversations. I think it would have been challenging for me to have made the movies and had a boyfriend that wasn’t working on the film too, because you get so into it.”

Lea Michele For NYLON September 2012

Lea Michele was shot by NYLON’s Editor-in-Chief Marvin Scott Jarrett for the September 2012 cover wearing a Marc by Marc Jacobs sweatshirt and an ASOS pearl cat ear aliceband.

With the highly anticipated fourth season of her hit show ‘Glee’ returning to screens in the US on September 13, she is TV’s leading lady of the moment.

She talks to the mag about her early start in theatre, her ‘Glee’ co-stars, including beau Cory Monteith, and her upcoming solo pop album.

Be sure to pick up a copy of NYLON magazine when it hits newsstands on August 28.

Enjoy the extracts below.

On her days as a child actor: “I was a weird kid. I was eight years old saying I don’t want a day off. I’d like to work every day, please.’”

Ryan Murphy on Michele’s talent: “I always thought she was very original. Then I heard her sing and I knew there was nobody like her. She’s a very rare talent–she’s very specific and unusual and yet also familiar. She’s in that canon of the great singer-actresses—there’s not many of them.”

On shock value: “I feel like I’m the type of person who likes to shock people a little bit, too. For example, when I was in Spring Awakening, every night I had to do this nude scene. I always loved to find the one person in the audience who I knew was going to be uncomfortable—who throughout the show was cringing in their seat—and when [co-star] Jonathan Groff would undo my top, I loved it! I was like, ‘Take that!! How uncomfortable are you right now? I want you to be uncomfortable!”

On her upcoming first solo album: “I want to make songs where girls can just roll down the windows of their car or dance around in their rooms in their underwear, like, I hate my ex-boyfriend! or I’m so in love! Because that’s what I want [to hear]–power-girl songs.”

Emma Watson For T: The New York Times Style Fashion Fall 2012 Magazine

Emma Watson graces the cover of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, for their Fall Fashion 2012 issue.

I’m excited that we will see Emma back on the red carpet again soon, as she will be promoting her new movie, ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, set to hit theatres on September 21.

Alasdair McLellan captures the 22-year-old British actress wearing a Bottega Veneta jacket with Harry Winston earrings on the cover, with the rest of the menswear inspired editorial featuring pieces from Ralph Lauren, Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons, Armani and Chanel.

She talks to the mag about her American accent, on why she didn’t work on other films during Harry Potter, and the numerous movies she currently has in the pipeline.

You can read some extracts from the interview below, or go to The New York Times “T” Style Magazine to read more.

On honing her vowels when it comes to her American accent: “My grandma said — when I was really young and I’d sing along to the radio — why do you sing in an American accent? I guess it was because a lot of the music I was listening to had American vocalists. And that was something Steve said to me as well: try singing the lines in an American accent. That kind of opened me up. Then I worked with a dialogue coach and I just put in the time to really, really listen and just go over it and over it and over it until I could do it without thinking about it too hard. And I just knew it was really important.” Read More…

Penelope Cruz for W Magazine September 2012

Penelope Cruz looked typically gorgeous on the cover of W Magazine’s September 2012 issue to promote her upcoming movie ‘Venuto al Mondo’.

Channelling her inner 80s supermodel, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott capture her unique beauty wearing a Givenchy navy turtleneck with a spectacular Lynn Ban 18k gold-plate and lapis necklace and Yves Saint Laurent gloves.

Inside the magazine, Penelope discusses her first audition, her cinematic soulmate Pedro Almodovar, her first meeting with Woody Allen and the key to doing comedy.

Pick up the issue when it hits newsstands on August 21 or head to WMagazine.com.

On whether it was complicated for her and co-star Javier Bardem to speak Spanish in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, when director Woody Allen didn’t speak the language: “He gave us the script he wrote in English, and he gave us the freedom to translate and improvise. Woody told me recently that he still doesn’t know if we are talking about the atomic bomb. And it’s the same thing in To Rome With Love—he doesn’t speak Italian. I translated my lines. So he still doesn’t know what I am saying.” Read More…

Rachel Weisz for Marie Claire September 2012

With her new movie, ‘The Bourne Legacy’, hitting cinemas today in London, it’s no wonder Rachel Weisz was selected by Marie Claire UK as their cover girl for September 2012.

The 42-year-old actress looked enchanting wearing a Jason Wu gown from the Fall 2012 collection, which was captured by Tesh for the cover.

She continues to smoulder in the rest of her editorial, which sees her don a black and red Lanvin look, a Sophia Kokosolaki chiffon black dress and a pretty floral Dolce & Gabbana frock.

She talked to Marie Claire about swapping teenage rebellion for motherhood, Oscar-winning roles and marriage.

On if it was love at first sight with 007 husband Daniel Craig: “I’m going to change the subject… It wasn’t really like that. We’d been friends for ages.”

On living with another actor: “We don’t sit around talking about acting but you both understand you’ve got to be flexible. Every few months you start a new job.”

On not being bothered by the increased interest in her private life: “As far as downsides go, I don’t think it’s a big one. It’s something we deal with together.”

On not being perfect: “I have countless flaws – have you got a year?’ she says, standing tall in a Sophia Kokosolaki dress. ‘Hopefully, as one gets older, one learns to deal with the flaws that really affect other people.”

On combining acting with motherhood: “Like any job, there are days when you’re just pulling your hair out. The same as anyone who wants to be with their kid or husband. Every mother feels that don’t they? Of course sometime’s it’s great to get away and feel, ‘Hooray, I’m not changing nappies today.’ I mean, I love my son but it’s not without conflict.”
