BALMAIN Celebrates LA Boutique Opening and Beats by Dre Collaboration

BALMAIN’s bevy of beauties all came out to play on Thursday (July 20) in Beverly Hills to celebrate the opening of the French house’s first-ever West Coast boutique as well as the launch of the BALMAIN Special Edition Beats Studio Wireless and Powerbeats3 Wireless, which became available on July 19.

The BALMAIN Resort 2018 women’s and men’s collections made the rounds throughout the evening, set against music sets by DJ Kiss and DJ M.O.S. as well as a special live performance by MIGOS.

Here, all the dazzling BALMAIN looks that creative director Olivier Rousteing and his celebrity friends served up.

Hailee Steinfeld
: Never shy of toying with the more avant-garde, Hailee was a statement-making starlet in the BALMAIN army on this night with her striking head-to-toe suit of fashion armor that she commanded with ease.

Kim Kardashian: Mixing low-key with high-octane, she undoubtedly garnered attention with her more casual crop bralette paired with an embellished, windowpane skirt. Keeping the look beautifully simple in its styling, she wore Lucite heels that were nearly invisible along with nude makeup and long Cleopatra locks to complete the very Kim K look.

Kate Bosworth
: The true epitome of a party dress defined, this flirtatious frock was sophisticatedly edgy in its gilded, backless design. But it was the playful fun of the tutu that really delivered the soiree-ready whimsy. Giuseppe Zanotti pumps completed the look.

Olivia Munn In Cinq à Sept – Comic-Con 2017

Olivia Munn is promoting ‘The Lego Ninjago Movie’ at Comic-Con 2017 in San Diego, California, and when she arrived on the scene on Thursday (July 20), she was nothing short of a style superheroine.

I was immediately enamoured by the way in which she wore these Cinq à Sept Resort 2018 separates with a zesty, spirited edge.

Pairing the glorious, bright-orange ensemble with a Mistress Rocks bralette, she imbued the look with a Comic-Con level of cute sass and feisty allure.

Christian Louboutin silver-metallic platforms complemented the embroidery of the jacket and skirt with an intriguing galactic edge that was naturally well-suited to the occasion, too.

An Anita Ko necklace, Graziela Gems necklace, and Sara Weinstock earrings rounded out the look.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Temperley London – Live with Kelly and Ryan

Jenna Dewan Tatum looked to be in great spirits as she made her way to a studio in New York City for her guest appearance on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ on Thursday (July 20).

Temperley London’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection was all about the West Country woman, yet Jenna’s look is brimming with a sense of romance.

When it comes to Jenna’s style, she tends to favour the fitted, above-the-knee style of red carpet dressing, so this midi dress with a free flowing skirt showcases a refreshing change of pace.

Usually I’m not a fan of the white dress, black accessories combo, but in this case her Kate Spade New York ‘Emerson Place’ embellished ‘Rita’ bag and the Kurt Geiger ‘Hermione’ sandals both add an modern edge to the look and prevent it from feeling too saccharine.

Eva Fehren jewels and chic shades rounded out her look.

Natalie Portman In Christian Dior – ‘Planetarium’ Tokyo Premiere

I don’t know about you, but I have been unimpressed by Natalie Portman’s red carpet style during this trip to Asia.

Following her Dior photocall look, the actress attended the ‘Planetarium’ Tokyo premiere on Thursday (July 20) wearing a simple high neck Dior LBD.

I will never understand why an ambassador for a major fashion brand will display such little interest in fashion.

Simple doesn’t necessarily have to mean boring, but that’s the feeling I have when trying to find a positive from this look.

Not even the Dior ‘J’Adior’ slingbacks could save this look from feeling so underwhelming.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge In Markus Lupfer & Emilia Wickstead – Royal Germany Visit Day 2 & 3

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge continued making the rounds—and the wardrobe changes—during Day 2 of her royal visit to Germany on Wednesday (July 20).

Claerchens Ballhaus’ Reception: With her Prada scalloped sandals fast becoming a new favourite for the Duchess, she paired them with a Markus Lupfer Pre-Fall 2017 dress that likewise provided a less structured, more laid-back silhouette. I love her step towards elegant edginess in this artsy print, with a metal belt rounding it out.

Maritime Museum: We will be more familiar with this style of look from Catherine, in which she relied on one of her go-to designers, Emilia Wickstead, for this bespoke frock. The ladylike profile of the structured dress and swing skirt will always be an impeccable look for her—no matter how many times we see it. She did explore a new, exuberant palette in this bright lavender shade partnered with a contrasting red clutch.
