Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a grand entrance into The Dubai Mall on Friday (January 12), where she was on hand to help Longines open a new store.
Now, you might be thinking that this Mark Bumgarner Fall 2017 gown feels a bit much for a mall event, even for a high-end brand, but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and glamour go hand in hand.
This is what the crowd would’ve expected, and she didn’t let them down.
There will be no, “this is OTT” complaints from me, especially since she’s wearing my favourite colour.
The look was of course styled with a Longines timepiece, but with a gown and a face as gorgeous as Aishwarya’s, who’s looking at the watch?
This year’s Golden Globe Awards red carpet was flooded with beautifully styled and elegantly designed black gowns, but it was the bright coral belt on Mandy Moore’s Rosie Assoulin gown that helped her shine among this stylish crowd. Similarly, her beauty look conveyed the same pop of color that presented a fresh spring-like look for this winter event.
Inspired by this bright shade and 80’s Roxy Music album covers that depicted sculpted skin with dewy accents and bold lips and eyes, Celebrity Makeup Artist Matin, created a chic look that highlighted Mandy’s best assets. Here’s how to achieve this playful and youthful look:
SKIN: A well-hydrated face provides a healthy canvas for flawless makeup application. To achieve a bright and evenbase, Matin applied Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask. This smoothing mask instantly revived the skin and replenished radiance. For added moisturize to the skin, he followed by blending Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream onto her face, neck, shoulders and arms and primed the skin with the color-correcting Charlotte Tilbury Brightening Youth Glow.
FACE: To further emphasize the radiance of Mandy’s skin, Matin applied Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter in 5 (to launch March 2018) to the high points of her face, tops of her cheekbones and brought down to her shoulders and back. This new product mimics the flawless effects of social media filters and provides a youthful and glamorous glow upon application. To even out her skin, Matin buffed in Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation in 5 and sculpted the face with Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Contour Want in Light/Medium. For future definition of the color and highlight, he followed with Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze and Glow in Light/Medium. For brightness and a demure flush of color, Matin blended Charlotte Tilbury’s Cheek to Chic Blusher in Ecstasy onto her cheeks. Finally, to set the skin, he lightly dusted Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish in 2 to the face.
EYES: For the classic Charlotte Tilbury mesmeric eye look, Matin used Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita. To define Mandy’s eyes, he saturated the entire lid with Charlotte Tilbury’s Colour Chameleon in Golden Quartz and followed with The Dolce Vita palette. He then applied a healthy coating of Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes in Glossy Black to her lashes which resulted in incredibly voluptuous lashes which framed the completed eye look.
LIPS: To tie in the poppy coral accent of her dress, Matin chose Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Lips Matte Liquid Lipstick in Walk of Fame, a statement-making lip in a lush orange-based red tone.

Issa Rae: A part of me was longing for a more defined shape to this tangerine Prada gown, but between the colour, the all-over crystal embroidery and that infectious smile, I was totally charmed by this look.
Michelle Monaghan: When I saw Michelle in this beige Alex Perry dress with matching Christian Louboutin ‘ Toufrou’ pumps, I was looking for a break in its one-noteness somewhere; but her Irene Neuwirth 18k gold, carved strawberry pink opal, turquoise and diamond pavé earrings weren’t enough.
Karla Welch – whose clients include Elisabeth Moss, Michelle Monaghan, Tracee Ellie Ross and Karlie Kloss – was named Choice Stylist at Marie Claire’s 3rd Annual Image Makers Awards on Thursday (January 11) in West Hollywood, California, where she attended the event with Tracee.
Perhaps inspired by the athleisure boom or the annual glut of New Year’s resolutions to hit the gym, I love how they both deliberately turned up wearing matching Valentino Resort 2018 tracksuits.
Opting to leave their gym bags at home, Tracee paid further homage to her stylist by carrying a ‘Karla’ emblazoned Edie Parker clutch.
What fun way to celebrate a remarkable accolade.
