Julianne Moore In Rodarte – ‘Maps To The Stars’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Julianne Moore In Rodarte - 'Maps To The Stars' New York Film Festival Premiere

Julianne Moore attended the ‘Maps to the Stars’ premiere held during the 52nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Saturday (September 27) in New York City.

The actress wore a black Rodarte Fall 2014 glitter, velvet, silk-chiffon and tulle dress enriched with Swarovski crystals.

By this point I should be stressing that this is yet another black gown from Julianne, but much like her Giambattista Valli Couture gown, this is yet another masterstroke from the actress. She looks composed and confident, oozing glamour from head to toe.

Possibly too heavy for some with the asymmetrically draped velvet fabric, I love the overall mystical direction she has taken lately.

Holland Roden In Emporio Armani – 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party

Holland Roden In Emporio Armani - 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party
Holland Roden also joined the starlet set at the 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party with Emporio Armani, hosted on Fridya (September 26) in Los Angeles,

Like Zendaya Coleman, Holland also showed off a monochromatic Armani Fall 2014 look, hers a black tea-length jersey dress featuring a scoop neckline and dramatic drop scallop waist.

Instead of wearing the exaggerated collar neck piece from the runway, the actress added her own flash of personality via David Webb jewelry, including a pair of coral-orange statement earrings highlighted by her upswept auburn locks.

Thankfully the earrings made the cut.

They served as the only pop of colour and provided enough of a jolt to keep this ensemble on the right side of minimal, especially when finished with a black patent clutch and classic black pumps. Did you still get the sense that something was missing?

Allison Williams In Vionnet – 2014 Global Citizen Festival

Allison Williams In Vionnet - 2014 Global Citizen Festival

Allison Williams attended the 2014 Global Citizen Festival to end extreme poverty by 2030 in Central Park on Saturday (September 27) in New York City.

The ‘Girls’ actress, who once had a love for purely ladylike dresses, has been switching things up of late.

Summer may be giving way to fall, yet the actress has no qualms about showing off her toned abs, wearing a Vionnet black knit two-piece featuring a sporty contrast neck and waistline.

She added a pop of colour via her ruby nails, with wavy tresses and glossy lips completing her look.

Usually I would’ve been wanting more interesting footwear, but I have no issues with them on this occasion – perhaps because they blend into the red carpet, but more likely because they add a ladylike polish to the look.

Nieves Alvarez In Gucci – Aquazzura Private Dinner

Nieves Alvarez In Gucci - Aquazzura Private Dinner

Nieves Alvarez sparkled at the Aquazzura cocktail party, hosted by Edgardo Osorio at Hotel Le Marois on Friday (September 26) in Paris, France.

The model-host could have just stepped off the runway herself in this Gucci Fall 2014 embellished, black leather dress that was equal parts disco ball and moto chic.

While it’s hard to beat the, ahem, wilder accessories that were posed behind her, a black YSL clutch and those wonderfully strappy black Aquazzura shoes proved the perfect pairing for such a cocktail dress.

If you’re experiencing déjà -vu like I did, it’s because Jennifer Lopez wore a shorter version of this dress on ‘American Idol’ earlier this year.

Bella Thorne In Vintage Giorgio Armani – 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party

Bella Thorne In Vintage Giorgio Armani - 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party

Bella Thorne was also among the PYTs at the 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party with Emporio Armani, hosted on Friday (September 26) in Los Angeles, California.

She paired a vintage Giorgio Armani navy beaded striped top with black wide-leg Emporio Armani cropped trousers.

I wanted to like her mix of retro and contemporary, but ultimately the styling and the fit put me off this look.

The pants translated as semi-clownish and the tube top seemed as if might slip off at some point. As for the bright-blue patent heels and white python, chain-strap clutch, they were jarring accompaniments—nor did her silver necklace and bangles make sense.

Even her glorious, flame-red waves seemed to fall lacklustre in the face of this ensemble, rather than setting it afire.
