Catherine Malandrino For BMW

We’re well aware the music and fashion go together, now we are seeing a trend of designers collaborating with car manufacturers.

Luisa Beccaria collaborated with Citroen, now we have the French born, New York based fashion designer Catherine Malandrino.

The designer stars in a new BMW national advertising campaign which is featured in the December issues of Condé Nast publications W, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, Bon Appetit, Condé Nast Traveler, The New Yorker, and if you are on as often as I’m you will have seen the adds pop up there.

The editorial tells a story of Catherine looking fabulous outside her Meatpacking District Flagship boutique, and on a weekend getaway at her country house in upstate NY.

It’s a portrait of her nomadic chic lifestyle with the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo as her ultimate companion.

Of course she’s dressed in her own designs from her Fall 2009 collection.

Kayla Ewell Loves French Connection Dresses

It seems that Kayla can’t leave the house without a French Connection dress these days.

Her obsession started in at the beginning of November when she stepped out in the “Elk Dress” and three days later she wore the “Paintbox Dress”.

It’s great that she’s found a brand that she loves but a little more imagination on the red carpet wouldn’t go amiss.

She looks great through and I particularly love her in the emerald “Bonny Dress”.

I think the nude shoes she’s teamed with this dress are stunning and make her legs look like they go on forever.

Speaking of those shoes she’s also worn them with the white dress.

She’s obviously not a girl who’s afraid to be seen in something twice!

Which dress is your favourite?

The Elk Dress, Paintbox Dress, Bow Dress and the Emerald Bonny Dress are all available to buy online.

Runway To “The Morgans Awards” – Lily Allen In Prada

What would Uncle Karl say?

Lily Allen who’s known for her love of Chanel, was this week spotted wearing a Prada Pre-Fall 2009 mini burgundy dress when she attended “The Morgan Awards” in London.

The mini dress is sprinkled in deep burgundy paillettes, has a v-shaped neckline and some added detail on the shoulders.

I LOVE the Lily’s version.

She would’ve looked so uncomfortable in the runway version with that architectural skirt.

It’s currently fr-fr-fr-freezing in London, so tights were mandatory in this tiny barely there mini.

Are you loving or hating this look?

Pixie Lott For InStyle UK January 2010

InStyle UK’s cover girl for January 2010 is Pixie Lott.

Those of you outside the UK may not have heard of Pixie Lott.

She’s an 18 years old singer who’s as well known for her catchy tunes, as her love for  hot pants, messy hair, smoky eyes and lots of accessories.

We’re jealous that she always manages to wear those hot pants so well, without looking trashy.

In her editorial she wears the same Stella McCartney jumpsuit worn by Stella and Victoria Beckham, but there are no hot pants in sight.

In her interview she discusses her style, her reported crush on Russell Brand, and not having much to draw on when it comes to love songs.

On making it in the industry: “The X Factor’s great for people like Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke because they start with a massive fan base. But I think it’s better to work your way up. If you get somewhere, you feel like you’ve really done the hard work to get there.”

Victor & Rolf “Black Dress” Capsule Collection

As part of their Spring 2010 collection, Victor and Rolf have created a collection of five cocktail dresses.

In fact they will be creating a small capsule of LBD’s in every collection from now on.

The design duo want to reinvent the LBD and offer something extra from the main collection.

In the words of the designers “the garments capture our take on the spirit of a woman”.

Feminine they most certainly are with gorgeous soft bows, lace and references to lingerie.

I’ve been drooling over the dresses and can’t decide which one I love the most.

What do you think of the collection?

The dresses will available from December in high end department stores.

Who Wore Alexander McQueen Better? Penelope Cruz or Dita von Teese

At the close of the New York Film Festival Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar and Spanish actress Penelope Cruz posed for the media for present ‘Los Abrazos Rotos’ (‘Broken Embraces’).

Penelope wore a Alexander McQueen houndstooth pencil dress with satin black pumps and accessorized with sunglasses which helped show off her cleavage.

Dita von Teese wore the same dress this weekend when she signed copies of her new book “Dita Striptease” at Waterstone’s in Piccadilly, London.

She star wore her cowl-neck dress with t-bar Louboutin’s and accessorized with a black brooch shaped like a hand.

This McQueen dress has a modern take on this classic forties style, which is classic Dita.

The dress looks like it was made for Dita so she wins for me.

This dress is available to purchase from and Net-A-Porter.
