Laura Dern In Vivienne Westwood – ‘Big Little Lies’ LA Premiere

Laura Dern showcased a more experimental side to her red carpet style while attending the premiere of HBO’s ‘Big Little Lies’ on Tuesday (February 7) in Hollywood, California.

Through twists and turns, cuts and drapes, this dual-colour dress conjures a distinctive silhouette that can only be attributed to Vivienne Westwood’s offbeat aesthetic.

Constructed with the label’s corseted bodice, I love that Laura took a risk with the bolder colours instead of the safer runway dark hue.

While I think the hair and dress are at odds somewhat, this is a sterling effort from Laura.

Gwendoline Christie In Vivienne Westwood Couture – 2017 SAG Awards

I don’t believe that the SAG Awards is the “less serious” date on the awards season calendar, but I do believe it can be a great time to take a risk.

Gwendoline Christie was one of the few to opt for a trouser-ed look for the event on Sunday (January 29), but unfortunately, like most who opted for trousers – excluding Evan Rachel Wood – this Vivienne Westwood Couture jumpsuit fell flat.

Even with the myriad of sequins and cinched in waist the look felt cumbersome and ill-fitted.

Viola Davis In Vivienne Westwood Couture – 2017 SAG Awards

Viola Davis attended the 2017 SAG Awards in LA on Sunday (January 29).

The ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ star wore a white, strapless Vivienne Westwood Couture gown, which she paired with a dramatic diamond collar and black box clutch.

Can we just stop for a second and say how amazingly radiant Viola is? And while this dress isn’t going to be memorable five years from now, I love the contrast of the white satin on Viola’s gorgeous skin, and I don’t have any complaints about the look.

Rashida Jones In Vivienne Westwood Couture – 2017 SAG Awards

Rashida Jones attended the 2017 SAG Awards in LA on Sunday (January 29).

The ‘Angie Tribeca’ actress wore a flowing floor-length gown by Vivienne Westwood couture.

The result is an effortlessly feminine look that is one of Rashida’s best. The pale pink hue and waistband bow are young and playful, which we don’t see on the carpet enough.

Rashida kept it simple with minimal accessories, to let her dress shine.

Michelle Monaghan In Vivienne Westwood Couture – ‘Sleepless’ LA Premiere

Michelle Monaghan attended the ‘Sleepless’ premiere at the Regal LA Live Stadium 14 in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (January 5).

Donning the glitziest version of a robe possible, she took to the red carpet in a slinky Vivienne Westwood Couture gown.

When executed well, the sleepwear-as-outerwear trend can be quite sultry and chic. Yet, here, the plunge was way too deep and the bagginess of the extra fabric at the waist simply failed to flatter.

Rounded earrings and a choker along with a tightly wound topknot finished the look.

11th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball

11th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball

A host of celebrities attended the 11th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball on Tuesday (December 1) in New York City, honouring UNICEF ambassador Orlando Bloom.

Patina Miller: Following her stand out performance in ‘The Hunger Games’ we are thankfully seeing a lot more of the actress on the red carpet. On this occasion she wore a dove-grey Naeem Khan gown with floral appliqués which also have a snowflake quality to them. I can’t say I am a fan of the black Rodo clutch here, but I guess it was to complement the waistband.

Michelle Monaghan: The actress wore a Vivienne Westwood Red Label Spring 2016 strapless dress styled with a matching bolero. Westwood’s dress can often possess a samey quality, so I really appreciate the attempt to make this one stand out with the styling which included an intriguing bejewelled tarantula brooch.

Padma Lakshmi: The TV host and Naeem Khan make a dynamic pairing, yet I just can’t forgive that sheer yoke. I would’ve loved gown had it been strapless.
