Menswear Red Carpet Round Up

Nick Cannon: The host of ‘America’s Got Talent’ joined Heidi Klum on the red carpet at the Rockefeller Center for the New York auditions. Going for a dapper look wearing a two-piece Vivienne Westwood Man suit, I find myself being bothered by the fit of the pants. The blazer features an insert waistcoat, giving the look a smart but trendy feel with a gold chain and button closure He styled his suit with a grey floral brooch, a lavender shirt, a blue printed tie with a tie pin, and grey shoes.

Robert Downing Jr.: The actor is still in Asia promoting the third installment of the ‘Iron Man’ franchise. On this occasion, he attended a photocall in Beijing, China wearing a Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2013 burgundy cotton two-button notch lapel suit. Aside from the obligatory sneakers by Lanvin, this was a surprisingly quirk-free look. I love the colour; the complementary CK shirt and purple tinted glasses help make this one of his best looks so far on this tour.

Alexander Skarsgard: The handsome actor joined Paula Patton on the red carpet last night for the ‘Disconnect’ New York screening. I have one word for Alexander in this Calvin Klein grey suit and black shirt: swoon.

Robert Downey Jr. In Vivienne Westwood Man – ‘Iron Man 3′ Seoul Premiere

Providing us with yet another fresh take on menswear, Robert Downey Jr. took to the red carpet this evening for the ‘Iron Man 3′ Seoul premiere, held at Times Square in South Korea.

While the colours were traditional, this Vivienne Westwood Fall 2013 tuxedo was anything but.

He wore a black-and-white shawl collar tuxedo jacket which complemented his part-wool, part-satin pants.

Adding another quirk to his look, the actor wore his suit with a white shirt featuring black tips on the collar.

Of course his look wouldn’t be complete without sneakers and even those were toned down, by his standards, on this occasion.

Do you like RDJ’s contemporary interpretation of the classic tux? Should he have worn a black shirt as presented on the runway?

Joanne Froggatt In Vivienne Westwood Red Label – Jameson Empire Awards 2013

Joanne Froggatt attended the 2013 Jameson Empire Awards held at Grosvenor House in London, England on Sunday.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star wore a Vivienne Westwood Red Label Spring 2013 pink skirt suit with a white Topshop blouse.

You may be thinking that Joanne has buttoned up her curved-lapel blazer incorrectly; however, the asymmetrical hem is a typical Westwood quirk.

Channelling some retro glamour into her look, Joanne styled her hair into a beehive side ponytail and sported cat eyes.

Multi-coloured patent pumps completed her look.

Bradley Cooper In Vivienne Westwood Man – 2013 Elle Style Awards

At the 2013 Elle Style Awards, held in The Savoy Hotel in London on Monday evening, Bradley Cooper received the ‘Best Actor’ Award.

The ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ star wore a Vivienne Westwood blue, notch lapel suit.

He paired his suit with a grey shirt with a forward point collar and a sliver, plaid tie. His award even acted as a good accessory.

The jacket fits nicely, but the pants don’t seem to fit quite right.

They’re just an inch long and could be slimmed down just a bit.

Having said that, it’s always difficult to not like anything Bradley wears, because he always seems to look great.

Just two days ago Bradley was seen wearing a Vivienne Westwood Man Fall 2013 coat.

Kat Dennings In Vivienne Westwood – 2013 Grammy Awards

Kat Dennings attended the 2013 Grammy Awards hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California this evening.

For her presenter duties, the ’2 Broke Girls’ starlet wore a strapless Vivienne Westwood cocktail dress that didn’t translate as richly as I would have liked.

It was a structured, architectural design, but like this funny girl, it didn’t take itself too seriously. After all, the blue and white print, glittery with sequins, was slightly reminiscent of tie-dye.

That pendant necklace didn’t really belong, though, nor did those chunky nude platform, peep-toe pumps.

Her dramatic oxblood lip and nails, not to mention her long dark locks, put this look on vampy territory.

Andrea Riseborough In Vivienne Westwood Couture – 2013 BAFTA Awards

British actress Andrea Riseborough also opted for yellow to chase away the chill at the 2013 BAFTA Awards, hosted on Sunday at the Royal Opera House in London, England.

After her frou-frou- and floral-filled turn in a Chanel Resort 2013 frock at the BAFTA nominees party, Andrea took a harder line with her more straight-laced Vivienne Westwood Couture gown styled with De Beers jewels.

The strapless creation still had some frill factor, though, with the ribbon-like detailing at the bodice.

However, the overall effect wasn’t as polished as it perhaps could have been, as the dress appeared a bit rumpled and wrinkled.

The contrast between Andrea’s jet-black hair, which was haphazardly pulled into an updo, as well as her black handbag and black lacquered nails was all a bit harsh against the yellow.

Such a colour combination should perhaps be left to the bumblebee.
