Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Whilst Christina Aguilera wore an impressive Atelier Versace dress to the 2010 MTV Movie Awards last night, Miranda Cosgrove opted for a look from its baby sister Versus.

The 17 year old actress wore a red Versus Fall 2010 dress which was as vibrant in colour, as it was interesting in style.

Her red v-neck dress with velvet panels maybe too much for some of you on a hot summers day in LA, but I think stars should try to do something different at MTV Awards ceremonies.

You can save florals for Premiere’s and Gala’s.

Alexa Chung was another English girl in New York attending The Art of Elysium “Bright Lights” with Versus fundraiser on Friday.

She did opt for some colour wearing a red Versus safety pin dress from the Spring 2010 collection.

As much as I love this dress on Alexa, I really don’t like her hunched pose on the red carpet.

It’s little things like this that can totally put me off liking a look.

The TV presenter completed her look with a small Chanel bag and black patent shoes.

Donatella Versace was the host at The Art of Elysium “Bright Lights” with Versus fundraiser on Friday.

Whilst her guest Joy Bryant was decked out in a Versus Fall 2010 printed tee and black pants, Donatella was the glamorous host wearing a strapless dress from her Versace Spring 2010.

The dress is modified into a strapless dress as Donatella has already worn the white version earlier this year.

I would’ve loved to have seen Joy wearing one of the mini dresses, she certainly has the legs to work the look.

The Art of Elysium held their 2nd Annual New York fundraiser titled “Bright Lights” with Versus on Friday.

The Versus with Donatella Versace and Christopher Kane greeted their many guests which included Brit singer Estelle.

She opted to wear a Versus Spring 2010 mini black dress with a metallic mesh bodice.

Her yellow clutch is a nice colour pop, but the shoes are a huge let down.

I much prefer the gladiator style boots Estelle wore when she performed at the event.

They were worn with a Versus Fall 2010 LBD.

The dress has a black satin panel and a flirty pleated skirt.

I wish Estelle had worn one of the red Versus Fall 2010 pieces on stage. It would’ve had such a massive impact.

Cameron Silver owner of the fabulous vintage boutique Decades, hosted the “Dada Ball 2010″ this weekend.

The fundraiser was for the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis with all proceeds from the event supporting the Museum’s educational outreach programs.

Chloë Sevigny attended the event wearing a stunning Versus safety pin dress from the Spring 2010 collection designed by Christopher Kane.

The LBD is accented with coloured safety pins on the shoulders and the skirt.

I loved seeing the return of the iconic safety pins. It’s a brilliant nod to the infamous safety pin dress worn by Liz Hurley.

Like the runway, Chloe also carried the Versus shoulder bag which is also covered with multi-coloured safety pins.

Is anyone else wishing she’d gone full on matchy matchy and paired her dress and bag with the Versus safety pin sandals?

I met Christopher Kane, the designer of this collection earlier today at his press day in London, and he gave Chloe the thumbs up on this look.

He said he loved how she pulled her hair back to keep the look really fresh and modern, and he also loved the pop of red on her lips.

Couldn’t agree more.

Miley Cyrus is the latest cover star for Teen Vogue appearing in the April 2010 issue.

The teen actress was shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier in Paris.

On the cover she sports straight hair whilst wearing a Versus Spring 2010 mini red dress.

The editorial isn’t just about her. Her co-star – and boyfriend – Liam Hemsworth also appears in the issue. Let’s hope they don’t break up before the May issue hits the stands.

Here are some extracts from Miley’s interview:

On her first impression of Liam: “He’s really tall. I thought, Either I’m going to have to be in heels or standing on something for this entire movie! He definitely showed chivalry: I remember him opening the door for the director, and I was like, Wow.”

On her future in music: “The more I make music that doesn’t truly inspire me, the more I feel like I’m blending in with everyone else. So after this next album, I’m taking some time off.”

On her chemistry with Liam: “I think we’re both deeper than normal people—what they think and how they feel. He’s very grateful for what he has, but he doesn’t let it go to his head. I’m like that too.”
