After the Versace Spring 2010 show I went backstage to speak to Donatella Versace.

She was very happy and excited about her presentation.

It was the same kind of excitement I would expect to see from someone presenting their first collection, so it was great to see that enthusiasm for what you are passionate for never dies.

I was dying to know what was her inspiration behind the collection and the reason why she always modifies her runway pieces when she wears then.

“My body is not a models body, I like to dress for my body.” Which I had always assumed.

Donatella told me that for her Spring 2010 collection she was inspired by Tim Burton’s upcoming film version of Alice in Wonderland.

“I loved the colours, the patterns. It’s how I see Alice in the Versace world, with the fairytale and the prince.”

“I used all the Versace elegance in a modern way, and tried to evoke emotion, because passion is love.”

Later on that evening I was invited to the Versace after show party which was held at the Versace residence.

It was there I saw Janet Jackson with Jermaine Dupri -yes I guess they are back together- and my other heroine Pat MCGrath who is such a sweet person.

On my way to the Versace Spring 2010 show I was so excited I could hardly wipe the massive grin off my face.

Outside the venue there was the biggest crowd of people I had ever seen. Everyone was desperate to see this show.

My seat in the 4th row gave me a perfect view in the beautifully dim-lit room with white sheets draping from the ceiling. It felt so romantic.

I was 3 rows behind Anna Wintour and BFF Roger Federer who looked really shy with all the attention his attendance with the most powerful woman in fashion was creating.

Once Janet Jackson took her seat, the lights went down and the music started.

The first few looks were ultra short, colourful and beautiful.

One of my favourite mini was the pink mirrored mini dress worn by Natasha Poly. I would love to see this dress on the red carpet at the upcoming American Music Awards. Katy Perry immediately springs to mind.

Bustier dresses, short skirts, tight-fitted tops, polka dotted pants, and belted coats were all presented alongside the minis.

The colour palette ranged from baby blue, pink, lime, aqua, grey, white, silver and yellow.

The prints were very striking. Some were tropical and some were psychedelic. PVC skirts and dresses were covered in these prints, which were worn over bikini’s and panties.

The collection wasn’t all about ultra short mini dresses on leggy models, we were also presented with sultry gowns Versace is known for.

The gowns stood apart with thigh-high splits, cut-out details, slashes to the hips and embellishments.

I would love to see Kate Winslet wearing the plunging mint green gown, and Penelope Cruz wearing the aqua blue one-shouldered gown.

There was something for everyone in this collection. Teen Hollywood will love the minis, and daring A listers will love the gowns.

I was able to go backstage where I saw those amazingly high printed platform heels that the models wore, plus the candy coloured bags they carried.

These bags will no doubt become the ‘IT’ bag next summer.

The show finished with the models all lined up showing the best pieces from the presentation, prior to Donatella Versace taking her bow.

It was the perfect way for Donatella to close the show.

Becki Newton said that when she attended the Jason Wu Spring 2010 show it was “The Best Hour Of My Life”. I totally share that sentiment for my experience at the Versace show.

It was as exhilarating as I had expected and more. I still get butterflies thinking about it.

Best Dressed Award
January Jones is never boring on the red carpet.

She always wows me and last night was no exception.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress wore a futuristic Versace mint green gown, with flowing skirt and a structured corset.

She gave me one of very few wow moments on the red carpet.

Best Dressed Runner Up/Best Marchesa Award
Olivia Wilde was one of the first actresses to hit the red carpet last night and was my Best Dressed for the whole of E! Live from the Red Carpet show until I saw January.

Her mint green chiffon embroidered Marchesa Spring 2010 gown with an illusion panel on the bodice is simply exquisite.

She wears the gown so well, so elegantly as we would expected from the beautiful actress.

Best Bling/Golden Girl Award
I do like a bit of bling on the red carpet and it was kindly provided by Kristin Chenoweth who sparkled wearing a crystal encrusted Zuhair Murad’s Haute Couture Spring 2009 mini dress, with gunmetal grey heels and a matching clutch.

I’m so glad she wore the dress without the runway belt.

Best Versace/Lady In Red Award
WOW.

Blake Lively is truly back.

After a disappointing 2008, she has continued to wow me in 2009.

Some of you like that Atlanta Housewife on E! will think this is too sexy. I say it’s sexy enough, and she has the body for it so why not wear a stunning red Versace Fall 2009 gown like this.

Best Maternity Award
I’m so glad Heidi Klum didn’t wear a tent like at the Costume Institute Gala.

Being pregnant is not a crime so why should she cover up?

I think she looks stunning in her Marchesa custom-made gown, which bares a slight resemblance to the Resort 2010 gown presented as they both have beaded a beaded bodice.

Her lace train is what I really love about this dress.

Gowns, Maternity, Bridal and accessories. Is there nothing that Georgina Chapman can’t do?

It Took Me A While, But I Love It Award
At first I was really unsure about Kate Walsh’s J. Mendel Spring 2010 crystal blue pleated strapless gown, as I thought it was unflattering.

But the more I looked at it, the more I appreciated the soft draping, and how beautiful the colour looked on her.

The actress paired her dress with and Aldo clutch.

Most Improved Award
Dana Delany is usually a hot mess on the red carpet, but she opted for a stunning purple Basil Soda Fall 2009 Couture strapless gown.

Excluding the embroidered bodice it’s quite a simple gown.

Slinkiest Silhouette Award
I love a mermaid gown that gives the wearer a Jessica Rabbit style silhouette.

Jennifer Carpenter’s Zuhair Murad Fall 2009 one shoulder nude tulle gown does that.

The gown has intricate black beading thought-out with a dramatic rosette detail on the bodice.

Better Than The Runway Award
I was really intrigued by Mila Kunis Monique Lhuillier Fall 2009 maroon tulle gown because of the way she had made it work for her on the red carpet.

I really dislike the runway styling, so I’m glad Mila has made me see this dress in a more positive light.

She accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels.

Interesting Change Of Direction Award
For the first time in a while I actually love Chloe Sevigny’s look.

I’m not one who get carried away with her “style icon” tag, I just judge her look by look and this Isaac Mizrahi Resort 2010 one-shoulder polka dot gown I love.

I also love the fact that it’s not an obvious choice.

50 And Fabulous Award
I have a soft spot for Marcia Gay Harden, she reminds me a lot o Helen Mirren in that she’s not afraid to show off her cleavage, like she does in this sequined Badgley Mischka Pre-Fall 2009 gown.

I love how the sash gives her a tiny waist, to give her an perfect hourglass figure.

Best Couture Award
This bold blue Basil Soda Fall 2008 gown may have a lot going on for you, but it all works for me.

I got texture, embellishments and it beautiful. All the ingredients need for a stunning couture gown.

Thank God She Pulled Her Hair Back Award
I was so happy that Drew Barrymore wore her hair tied back, because that black stripe she had in her hair last week would’ve been disastrous with this beautiful Monique Lhuillier blush gown.

Best Use Of Tulle Award
Rose Byrne was literally picking her gown up as she walked along the red carpet, as there was so much of it.

I loved this Valentino gown.

It was the perfect colour for her, despite it’s size she didn’t get lost in it, and the embellishment were beautiful.

Curvalicious Award
How can you not love Christina Hendricks? She is just too fabulous for words in her L’Wren Scott navy and black lace gown.

I would’ve adored her in a colourful gown, but she looks this hot it doesn’t matter.

Matchy Matchy Award
Ginnifer Goodwin wore a fuschia pink YSL strapless dress.

The dress matched her Brian Atwood heels and her clutch.

The stunning necklace is what pulls this whole look together and I absolutely adore it.

Best Necklace Award
Mariska Hargitay opted for a Carolina Herrera silver shimmering gown, which fitted her like a glove.

Best Embellished Gown Award
Perrey Reeves wore an ivory Naeem Khan chiffon empire waist short sleeve V-front gown with crystal beading.

More looks to follow.

Earlier this summer Donatella Versace attended the “Grazia Party” at Villa Necchi in Milan.

The designer was wearing a gold asymmetrical dress from her Spring 2009 collection which she had modified from a bell-shaped skirt to a pencil skirt.

Gwyneth Paltrow attended “Seinfeld’s Baby Buggy Event” this month wearing the runway version.

You see Gwynie has great legs, which is why she could have rocked her Grammy’s Versace dress sans tights.

As much as I love Donatella’s version, I love the youthful elegance the shorter version give Gwynie so she wins for me.

Gossip Girl starts tonight in the US and I’m so happy to be in New York to watch the season’s premiere, but unfortunately I will have to wait months to see the rest of the series back in the UK.

The picture above is the Season 3 Gossip Girl cast photo. The boys are looking very handsome especially Ed Westwick. The girls all look beautiful too.

In the picture Jessica Szohr wore an animal print dress.

Rock chick wannabee Taylor Momsen wore a strapless two tone sequin dress, whilst Leighton Meester wears a black embellished Elie Saab Fall 2009 dress.

Without meaning to be crude, the only person that really sticks out is Blake Lively.

The rest seem to fade into the background as Blake works the hell out of her palliette covered teal Versace dress.

Was it a coincidence that she is wearing a teal blue plunging dress and the rest are wearing darker colours?

The show airs tonight on CW @ 8pm/9pm central.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore her sexy gold and silver sparkling Versace Spring 2009 mini strapless dress back in February, when she took to the stage at the 2009 Grammy Awards.

She kept her pins under-wraps by pairing her dress with dove grey opaque tights and gunmetal grey heels.

Mischa Barton was snapped on the set of her new show “The Beautiful Life”, wearing the same dress a few weeks ago.

She accessorized her look with a pair of contrastingly edgy studded ankle boots and let the dress do the rest of the talking.

I would’ve given this to Gwyneth easily if it weren’t for the tights. She has endless long legs, and she was indoors why did she feel the need for the tights?

Mischa wins by default.

Actress Yoon Eun Hye arrived at her “My Fair Lady” press conference last week held at Ritz Carlton Hotel in Seoul, wearing a Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 dress.

She looks so elegant in her black dress which has a blue pom pom in one of the sleeves, and a matching ribbon tied to her waist.

Once again I’m glad that she didn’t feel the need to accessorize with the LV Cancan shoes, but she did wear a large pearl in her red hair like one of the models on the runway.

Moon Chae Won opted for a sexy Versace Spring 2009 mini dress with a heart shaped zipper detail on the neckline.

She wore her dress with Christian Louboutin heels with a black chiffon petal detail running along the front of the shoe.

A selection of rings and a gold leaf detail bracelet complete the look.

At the press conference the shows posters in the background reveal how fashionable this show is going to be.

Behind Yoon you can see she is wearing a Louis Vuitton blue dress, as worn by Madonna at the Costume Institute Gala.

In this poster Yoon is wearing the Balmain Spring 2009 denim jacket we saw Rihanna wearing earlier this year.

The drama is set to air August 19th on KBS2.
