Nina Dobrev In Versace – ‘The Great Gatsby’ World Premiere

Nina Dobrev In Versace - ‘The Great Gatsby’ World Premiere

Nina Dobrev joined Florence Welch and Carey Mulligan on the red carpet on Wednesday night for ‘The Great Gatsby’ world premiere held at Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

The ‘Vampires Diaries’ actress put her best foot forward, as always, wearing a sultry Versace Spring 2013 frock.

Styling the look with gold accessories proved to be a wise choice considering the gold accents which decorated her black frock. She opted for Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ pumps, with an added kick of a crystallized heel, and a Jimmy Choo black clutch with a gold frame.

Her enviable glossy locks were swept to one side, with Susan Foster jewels rounding out the look.

Katy Perry In Versace & Sachin + Babi – Out In New York City

Katy Perry In Versace - Out In New York City

On Tuesday, Katy Perry was spotted taking a stroll in New York City with her stylist Johnny Wujek, who has worked his magic in refining her style.

The singer wore a Versace Spring 2013 blue silk dress with appliqué lace and a side slide, which technically should be considered an evening look, but the styling makes the look daytime friendly.

Katy added a Sachin + Babi ‘Josefina’ leather moto jacket with a pretty floral print from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection and sheer black tights.

Along with the leather biker jacket, her Jimmy Choo ‘Dash’ boots with a studded trim give this pretty dress a rock-chic edge.

A Celine clutch and black Raybans completed her look.

BAFTA New York Celebrates ‘Mad Men’

BAFTA New York Celebrates ‘Mad Men

BAFTA New York celebrated the leading lovelies, (and the dapper guys, too), of AMC’s ‘Mad Men’ on Monday at The Harvard Club in New York City. I wanted to be ‘mad’ about the ladies’ looks, but I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed by a few of them.

Jessica Paré:  The Canadian stunner wore a jade-green dress, gilded in gold bric-a-brac at the neck and sleeves, from L’Wren Scott’s Fall 2013 collection. The slimline dress showed off her figure, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the distracting black Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps. They weren’t right for this look, as I much preferred the metallic gold shoes that took to the runway.

January Jones: With her black leather Versace motorcycle jacket and printed Parker mini-skirt, the actress mixed punk and playful styles. Black Miu Miu platform pumps and a tousled bob finished this sporty moment that was certainly worlds away from her classic-glam ‘Mad Men’ character.

Christina Hendricks: The flame-haired star covered up her curves in a long-sleeve, knee-length black Valentino dress. While it did have some silhouette-enhancing trim at the waist and bodice, these details all but disappeared into the blackness. The spark was further extinguished with tired Stuart Weitzman black shoes—a more inspired pair would have worked wonders. At least Christina’s bold red lip provided some much-needed drama.

Kiernan Shipka: The young starlet stood out here with her adorable Dolce & Gabbana bow-accented frock that managed to look simultaneously sophisticated and age-appropriate. She also gets points for her retro side-swept wave and her decision to opt out of black pumps, choosing instead a mesh pair.

3rd Annual Inspiration Gala São Paulo Red Carpet Round Up

3rd Annual Inspiration Gala São Paulo

A host of supermodels took to the red carpet for the third annual Inspiration Gala São Paulo on Saturday evening.

Renata Kuerten: The Brazilian model added some spice to the red carpet, wearing an Anthony Vaccarello Fall 2012 one-sleeve black gown with her right boob almost popping out – you may remember that Cassie wore the same gown to the GQ Awards late last year. I will be glad when celebs move on from this collection as the shock factor no longer applies and it’s starting to become tired.

Isabeli Fontana: Speaking of becoming tired, Isabeli wore a look from the much-worn Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 collection. Just when we thought that maybe we had seen the end of the chequered-print phase on the red carpet, the model reignites it wearing this yellow-and-white long-sleeved dress. The dress isn’t too jarring, I must admit, but both her heavy makeup and black peep-toes with this summery dress are. This is Isabeli’s second look from the Louis Vuittion Spring 2013 collection.

Izabel Goulart: Wearing a second-skin gown, the beaded Atelier Versace confection with a sexy side slit and sheer long sleeves is heavenly. This look would’ve been perfect had she lost the silver clutch; she needed something way more delicate.

Emilia Clarke In Versace – Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Emilia Clarke In Versace - Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Emilia Clarke made a guest appearance on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ yesterday evening in New York City.

The British actress was there to promote both her hit show ‘Games of Thrones’ and her Broadway gig as Holly Golightly in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’.

It’s no secret that the Versace Spring 2013 collection wasn’t my favourite; the only person who has made it work off the red carpet in my opinion is Celine Dion, although Jessica Biel and Heidi Klum did try.

On this occasion, Emilia’s lace panel chiffon dress with disc embroidery isn’t half bad; it’s the colour I object to, especially when styled with bright-red lips.

Had this been black, I would’ve been more inclined to fall in love with the look, but the butterscotch hue doesn’t work for me on Emilia.

Jessie J In Versace – 2013 Brit Awards

Jessie J In Versace - 2013 Brit Awards

Even though Jessie J has been working this transformation for a while now, once again I almost didn’t recognise her on the red carpet at the 2013 Brit Awards, held at the O2 Arena in London this evening.

Giving us a our first look from the Versace Pre-Fall 2013 collection, the singer wore a black long-sleeved asymmetrical gown with a sexy plunge, which was accented with a gold belt with a Medusa buckle.

Much like Katy Perry, Jessie appears to have also given up the clown makeup and quirky attire and, while that period was fun while it lasted, I’m thankful for this more grown-up, sleek approach.

I know many of you haven’t been so welcoming to this change, saying that Jessie is now looking a tad generic. I think she looks anything but, even with those simple black Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps, which in all honesty perfect the look.

Jessica Biel In Versace – ‘Playing for Keeps’ New York Premiere

In an attempt to shake off the ‘boring Biel’, mumsy, matronly tag some have given the newlywed, Jessica Biel opted for a super-sexy look on the red carpet for the ‘Playing for Keeps’ New York premiere held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater yesterday evening.

You can’t get sexier than Versace, so she selected a show-stopping teal tie-dye-print gown from their Spring 2013 collection.

The one-flowing-sleeve gown with an asymmetrical cut was styled with a gold-and-black fringe belt.

After Heidi Klum turned me off this collection, I have to say I’m glad to see Jessica back to her former glory in this gown.

She has been playing it safe for a long while now, so this look is very refreshing.

However, the modification to shorten the cut irks me, if you’re going to wear a gown like this own it as it was presented.

The quick fix looks a bit sloppy.

Tousled tresses and gold Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed her look.

Much improved or boring Biel?
