2010 Met Costume Institute Gala – Rachel Weisz In Oscar de la Renta

Rachel Weisz joins my growing Best Dressed list from last nights Costume Institute Gala.

She did a complete 180 from the Vera Wang pink gown and goth lips of last year.

This year I’m blown away.

The actress was breath-taking wearing a custom made Oscar de la Renta fuchsia silk faille strapless gown with draped bodice.

It’s based on look 45 from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2010 collection.

2010 Met Costume Institute Gala – Nicole Richie In Marc Jacobs

Nicole Richie sparkled on the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala last night.

She ditched the boho style she’s famed for to wear this fabulous metallic Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 dress.

The silver dress is accented with a black velvet sash tied to waist.

I’m loving the smoky make-up and the fabulous volume in her hair.

The look was paired with an equally dazzling black clutch.

2010 Met Costume Institute Gala – Taylor Swift In Ralph Lauren

Taylor Swift shimmered delicately on the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala last night.

There was no bling, just beaded details on her Ralph Lauren Collection ivory plisse georgette gown.

Even though we’ve seen this hairstyle a million times before on Taylor, it works perfectly with her look.

She was definitely one of my favourites last night.

2010 Met Costume Institute Gala – Cassie In Versace

R&B singer Cassie hit the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala last night wearing uber sexy Versace dress.

I love her blue Versace Fall 2010 dress with a high slit and embellished neckline.

It’s everything a Versace dress should be. Sexy, powerful and lust-worthy.

Unfortunately I just can’t and never will be able to get over that hairstyle.

It totally brings down the look which is a shame because her body is amazing in this dress.

Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a black VBH clutch complete the look.

2010 Met Costume Institute Gala – Rosario Dawson In Giambattista Valli

At the Costume Institute Gala history was made as Rosario Dawson finally wore a bold colour.

This is big for a woman who usually always wears black or navy.

Her lilac strapless Giambattista Valli gown is stunning.

I just love that ruffle skirt.

I’m very surprised about the fact that she’s not wearing much make-up, but it works with her light coloured gown.

The bustier gown has a black ribbon and diamond detail on the bodice which stops this look from being just a big fluffy gown.

2010 Met Costume Institute Gala – January Jones In YSL

Just when I thought the worst dressed at the Costume Institute Gala was Carey Mulligan, up pops January Jones.

I’m not crazy about the colour of her YSL dress, nor the black embroidery but I could’ve warmed to this look if it wasn’t for those black gloves and her horrific make-up.

Who did her make-up Coco the Clown?

January continues to slide for me.

It’s been a long while since I’ve liked anything she’s worn.

2010 Met Costume Institute Gala – Rachel Bilson In Louis Vuitton

Rachel Bilson also wore a Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 dress at the Costume Institute Gala in New York last night.

I love the dress and Rachel looks stunning wearing it, but I would’ve loved to have seen her in a gown.

She wore a short style last year.

The floral belted dress is worn with Jimmy Choo shoes and a black clutch which complement the black straps on her dress.

We’ve screamed for her to sport new hairstyle on the red carpet, we got it but is still fails.
