Julianne Moore In Givenchy Couture – 2015 Met Gala

Julianne Moore In Givenchy Couture - 2015 Met Gala

Julianne Moore also attended the 2015 Met Gala in New York City tonight (May 4).

For the big night, the star wore a custom-made Givenchy Couture gown, and the only problem with it is how badly the photos show-off its intricate beauty.

The structural bodice detailing and beading are quite dazzling, and the pops of green in the Jessica McCormack rings and earrings are flawlessly placed.

Julianne opted for her signature messy waves, and her flawless skin amped up eyelashes show-off her staggering natural beauty.

Kim Kardashian In Roberto Cavalli – 2015 Met Gala

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

Kim Kardashian was also at the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Her backless Roberto Cavalli white gown was designed by Peter Dundas in his first dress for Cavalli since returning to the fashion house.

Drama was this dress’s middle name what with its body-con allure and intricate lacy beading that cascaded into a mile-long train of wispy feathers.

Sheer seems to be one of Kim’s favourite looks, so I’m not surprised by the provocative, see-through quality of this confection. But it doesn’t put me off of simply appreciating the showy grandeur of the look on a night that merits all-or-nothing style.

Hailee Steinfeld In Michael Kors – 2015 Met Gala

Hailee Steinfeld In Michael Kors - 2015 Met Gala

Hailee Steinfeld was one of many lovely ladies rocking red at the 2015 Met Gala in New York City tonight (May 4).

Her simple satin Michael Kors gown and Edie Parker clutch are perfectly matched, and red looks lovely against Hailee’s skintone.

As I’ve said in previous posts from tonight, there is really no excuse for ignoring the theme at the Met Gala. Especially when you’re as young and fun and Hailee! I really wish she would have done something interesting here, instead of just giving us a really nice red carpet look.

I am digging her major bracelet and ring game, though, and as usual, her makeup doesn’t disappoint: The exaggerated cat eye and matte red lip are dramatic and fun.

Claire Danes In Valentino Couture – 2015 Met Gala

Claire Danes In Valentino Couture - 2015 Met Gala

Claire Danes looked poised on the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala in New York City tonight (May 4).

The actress wore a Valentino Couture gown straight from the designer’s Fall 2014 runway, paired with gorgeous diamond Fred Leighton jewels.

This is a beautiful gown that looks stunning on Claire, but I’m just not getting anything on-theme from the look, and that really disappoints me for this event.

I am totally smitten with Claire’s beauty look, though. Rocking a roughed-up, dirty-looking deep side part and ultra dark lips, the look is much edgier than Claire’s norm, and I love that she went outside her normal beauty box, and in doing so, I think she totally slays the look.

Dianna Agron In Tory Burch – 2015 Met Gala

Dianna Agron In Tory Burch - 2015 Met Gala

Dianna Agron also hit the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City tonight (May 4).

The actress wore a custom Tory Burch gown and minaudière with intricate bird detailing that is perfectly on point with the night’s theme. The embroidery makes the flawlessly draped gown even more special, and while I feel like next to the Rihanna’s and Lada Gaga’s of the night, this could fade into the background, it really shouldn’t, because it’s lovely.

I also love the jade jewelry, which is a thoughtful Chinese detail that adds a fun pop of color.

Smokey eyes, flawless skin and a simple-but-perfect chignon complete the look.

Jennifer Lopez In Atelier Versace – 2015 Met Gala

Jennifer Lopez In Atelier Versace - 2015 Met Gala

Jennifer Lopez attended the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

The overtly sexy, hyper-embellished, sheer-effect Atelier Versace one-shoulder gown is 100 percent J. Lo’s style.

That said, it is also perfectly on theme with the guise of a fire-breathing dragon twisting around her torso and the hot-crimson beaded flames that encircle the dress.

I happened to love the ombre effect seen in the tulle skirting for its depth and richness of form.

A Swarovski red crystal power clutch and red-toned shadowing around her eyes finished the look.

Olivia Munn In J. Mendel – 2015 Met Gala

Olivia Munn In J Mendel - 2015 Met Gala

Olivia Munn made a high drama statement on the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala in New York City tonight (May 4).

The actress wore an intricately pleated J. Mendel gown with drape-away sleeves and bold colors, and while Olivia often has an appealing ‘everygirl’ quality about her, that is nowhere to be found tonight. She looks as glamorous as I’ve ever seen her, and I love every aspect of it.

Despite how much is going on with the draping and color-fading of the dress, Olivia continued to editorialize the look with huge diamond jewels and red and black nail art, and while it was a risk, I think that risk totally paid off.

Word on the street is that Olivia was invited to sit at Anna Wintour’s head table tonight, and hopefully she’ll make as good of an impression on the Anna as she has on me.

Chloë Sevigny In J.W. Anderson – 2015 Met Gala

Chloë Sevigny In J.W. Anderson - 2015 Met Gala

Chloë Sevigny was also in attendance at the 2015 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

The actress wore a custom J.W. Anderson front-slit gown notable for its mixed embroidery and tapestry influences that were no doubt selected for the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ theme.

The richness of the fabrication was compromised by the styling, though.

There were simply one (or several) too many accessories cluttering the look—from the double bracelets and rings to the choker necklace and earrings. Yet even with their removal, I don’t know that I would be on board with this look.
