Who Wore Valentino Better…Miroslava Duma or Golshifteh Farahani?

Who Wore Valentino Better Miroslava Duma or Golshifteh Farahani

Miroslava Duma wore this electric-blue Valentino wool dress with scalloped detailing when she took her front row seat during the Valentino Fall 2013 Couture show back in July.

Even with the pop of red to the lips, the overall styling was too sombre for my taste and by her standards.

Golshifteh Farahani gave this dress a second run out not long after while attending the photocall for the 2013 Venice Film Festival.

Her styling wasn’t great either, adding silver Roger Vivier Virgule ‘Comma’ pumps and a blue Roger Vivier bag, but it’s much preferred over Miroslava’s so Golshifteh wins for me.

Claire Danes In Valentino – ‘Homeland’ Season 3 Screening

Claire Danes In Valentino - 'Homeland' Season 3 Screening

Claire Danes attended the premiere screening for Season 3 of her hit series ‘Homeland’ at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington City yesterday evening.

The actress wore a dreamy Valentino Resort 2014 sleeveless organza dress accented with intricate tonal and pink embroidery with beaded embellishment which appears to be longer than the tea-length version in the look book – or the model might just be taller than the actress.

Personally, I love Claire’s floor-sweeping frock, which features a slight racer front with a high round halter neck, an open back, an A-line waist and a pleated skirt, as it has a touch more of a romantic feel about it.

A pretty pink lip colour brought out the subtle pink tones in her dress, as did the Valentino gold-hardware-enhanced pink clutch she carried with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals providing the finishing touch.

Olivia Wilde In Valentino – ‘Third Person’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Olivia Wilde In Valentino - 'Third Person' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Olivia Wilde is all over Toronto Film Festival, adding her fifth event.

Last night she attended the ‘Third Person’ premiere held at The Elgin in Toronto, Canada wearing a Valentino Resort 2014 brightly coloured citron crepe halter dress with a slight racer front, open back and pleated tea-length skirt.

Her beautiful dress, which was styled with Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps, was elevated 100% when she opted for the punchy pink lip colour.

Olivia’s current run has made me fall in love with her style all over again, so stand back because she’s on a roll.

Dakota Fanning In Valentino – ‘The Last Of Robin Hood’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Dakota Fanning In Valentino - 'The Last Of Robin Hood' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Dakota Fanning arrived at the Isabel Bader Theatre for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of ‘The Last Robin Hood’ in Canada Friday night.

The young star wore a simple, long-sleeved Valentino Fall 2013 dress.

Despite its simplicity, I think this dress is a real winner. The unique neckline gives it plenty of visual appeal, while the short length is age appropriate.

While I prefer the silver shoes on the runway, Dakota’s nude pumps are fun without being distracting.

Another refreshing element is Dakota’s hair. While the star typically wears her hair down, it’s nice to see a slight change with half of it pulled back. The style is quite flattering to her face.

Diane Kruger In Valentino – Valentino Ball

Diane Kruger In Valentino - Valentino Ball

Diane Kruger also attended the Valentino Ball held at Palazzo Volpi during the 2013 Venice Film Festival on Wednesday evening.

If Keira Knightley’s Valentino Couture gown didn’t make your heart stop, Diane’s will.

The German beauty wore a Valentino ‘Poudre’ tulle illusione pretty pink gown from the Resort 2014 collection; you would be forgiven if you thought this was a Couture gown, such is the expert detailing with its floral embroidery with embellishments throughout.

Her round-neck dress with an A-line waist was styled with nothing but natural wavy tresses, a light-pink lip colour and her handsome escort beau Joshua Jackson, who was also decked out in Valentino.

Has BDOTW become a two clothes-horse race? Voting will begin on Sunday to cover all the TIFF premieres from Friday and Saturday.
