Claire Foy In Valentino – ‘Unsane’ Berlinale International Film Festival Premiere

Claire Foy stepped out at the ‘Unsane’ Berlinale International Film Festival premiere on Wednesday (February 21) in Berlin, Germany.

‘The Crown’ actress evoked a starry night sky with her Valentino Pre-Fall gown.

The sequined appliqués and gossamer fabric have a whimsical charm, but the dark colour palette adds a moody elegance.

The wrap style was cinched at the waist with a black velvet ribbon which contributed to the darkly romantic sentiment.

Her red lipstick added some colour.

Did you mind the sheer fabric?

Alba Rohrwacher In Valentino, Prada & Valentino Couture – Berlinale International Film Festival

Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher is currently in Germany, where she is promoting ‘Daughter of Mine’ (Figlia Mia) and ‘3 Days in Quiberon’ during the Berlinale International Film Festival.

‘Daughter of Mine’ Photocall:  Cut to a boyfriend fit, this Pre-Fall 2018 look takes her tailored style to the next level, oozing simple elegance. Valentino has always been one of her go-to brands, and the union continues to be a fruitful one.

‘Daughter of Mine’ Premiere: You maybe surprise to learn that this custom leather blue gown is by Prada, as their recent red carpet gowns tend to veer on the uber girlie side with embellishments and feather appliqués. I love how this feels daring for Alba. The long silhouette enhances her statuesque frame, while the cut and open back keeps the look razor-sharp and modern. Delfina Delettrez jewels completed the look.

‘3 Days in Quiberon’ Premiere: Returning to her first love: Valentino, the actress opted to borrow from the boys again, this time opting for a look from the Spring 2018 Couture collection. While the look was perfectly suited to her minimalist style, I was longing for a bit more in the makeup department on this occasion.

EE British Academy Film Awards Nominees Party Red Carpet Roundup

There was no shortage of exciting looks at the EE British Academy Film Awards nominees party at Kensington Palace on Saturday (February 17) in London, England.

Karen Gillan: The ‘Doctor Who’ actress shimmered in a Temperley London gown. Despite the all-black colour palette, this feels like a few different dresses in one look. It’s too bad that the tulle skirt gives the appearance of weighing down the top part.

Allison Janney: The Best Actress in a Supporting Role nominee ditched the gown in favour of an August Getty trench dress. The gray number had a marvelous lengthening effect which showcased her statuesque beauty. It was beautifully cut and as sophisticated as any dress. If I must find fault, I wish the sleeves were shortened to eliminate the bunching. Nine West shoes, a Judith Leiber clutch and Maxior tourmeline earrings added more pizzazz.

Kristin Scott Thomas: Another Best Actress in a Supporting Role nominee, the beauty turned heads in a Valentino dress. The dragon-inspired design nods to Chinese New Year and projects a joyful opulence. The style hails from the same Pre-Fall 2018 collection as Greta Gerwig’s gown.

Kate Mara In Valentino – EE British Academy Film Awards Nominees Party

Kate Mara went for short and sweet at the EE British Academy Film Awards nominees party on Saturday (February 17) in London, England where she joined husband Jamie Bell, Natalie Dormer and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The ‘Megan Leavey’ actress sported a Valentino Spring 2018 dress which had an ethereal, cloud-like appearance on the runway.

Unfortunately, her outfit was rather deflated and it left me feeling disappointed.

The mini silhouette would probably have been a hard sell for the event had it been at full volume, but its sagging shape and disjointed accessories do not help the matter.

The Tyler Ellis Perry clutch further restricts the shape of the dress and the gray shoes feel like an afterthought.

I’m afraid this is not one of her best looks.

Elle Fanning In Valentino Couture – ‘Isle of Dogs’ Berlinale International Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Nothing makes me more excited than a European Film Festival, so was delighted to see Elle Fanning take center stage alongside Tilda Swinton and Greta Gerwig for the 68th Berlinale International Film Festival opening ceremony and ‘Isle of Dogs’ premiere in Berlin, Germany this evening (February 15).

Cannes was a succession of pretty princess gowns for Elle, so I love how she took things up a notch with this Valentino Spring 2018 Couture gown.

I’m captivated by how colour blocking really helps embolden the gown, yet there’s still a sweet serenity surrounding this artful look.

I don’t think by any means this is an easy look to pull off, but when you’re a 19-year-old red carpet veteran, it’s light work.

Could this be a coming of age look as Elle moves out of her teens in 2018?
