Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

With Canada’s 2014 Toronto International Film Festival and New York City’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 in full swing, the men were out in force for a host of appearances over the past few days.

Andrew Garfield
: The actor attended the TIFF ’99 Homes’ premiere in a Burberry Tailoring three-piece charcoal suit with a traditional dark tie and dove-grey button-down. The suit was immaculate; the scruff was mountain man.

David Beckham: The soccer stud always cuts an impressive profile, and such was the case while he was out in New York City following wife Victoria Beckham’s Fashion Week show. He wore a black Dior Homme wool slim-shawl-collar tuxedo and white cotton shirt. The tux had nothing on him, as he looked every bit the cool customer with the relaxed fit and tie-less styling.

Amanda Seyfried In Valentino – ‘While We’re Young’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Amanda Seyfried In Valentino - 'While We're Young' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Amanda Seyfried also hit the red carpet at the premiere of the film ‘Where We’re Young’ at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, along with her costar Naomi Watts.

Amanda wore a short-sleeved dress from the Valentino Resort 2015 collection with a white lace bodice and multi-colored floral skirt .

She paired the sweet dress with pink and purple strapped Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps and delicate Dana Rebecca Designs earrings.

I cannot look at this ensemble without smiling. The dress is so vibrant and cheerful, and I love the fact that she continued to embrace color even with her Jimmy Choo ‘Tali’ shoes.

Bright pink lips, smokey brown eyes and a double-braided ponytail are the icing on the cake of this feminine and fun look.

Nicole Kidman In Valentino – ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ London Gala Screening

Nicole Kidman In Valentino - 'Before I Go To Sleep' London Gala Screening

Nicole Kidman attended the UK gala screening for ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ held at The Ham Yard Hotel on Thursday (September 4) in London, England.

The actress wore Valentino Fall 2014 in a wintery moss-green hue enriched with colourful butterfly sequin embroidery.

I love how the look intelligently balances elegance and whimsy; it’s not often we see her selecting something so playful.

Nicole styled her look with Christian Louboutin ‘Viveka’ sandals and a silver necklace with emerald stones, which I don’t think adds anything to this look.

Alba Rohrwacher In Louis Vuitton & Valentino Couture – ‘Hungry Hearts’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Alba Rohrwacher In Louis Vuitton & Valentino Couture - 'Hungry Hearts' Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

On Sunday (August 31) Alba Rohrwacher made an appearance at the 2014 Venice Film Festival to promote her latest movie, ‘Hungry Hearts’.

Photocall: The Italian actress wore a head-to-toe Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 look featuring a printed crewneck sweater, a part-leather skirt accented with a knotted belt, and those tan ankle boots which I haven’t been a huge fan of, but Alba sells the whole look effortlessly to me.

Premiere: Working the same no-fuss mantra, Alba graced the red carpet wearing a Valentino Fall 2014 Couture look featuring a white long-sleeved silk top with a black pleated skirt accented with a wraparound leather waistband, a signature of this collection. I had pictured this on Tilda Swinton, but they have the same frame, same laidback approach to the red carpet and similar hairstyles, so I can’t be disappointed by this spectacular outing.

Two for two. Do you agree?

Best Dressed Of The Week – Lizzy Caplan In Donna Karan Atelier, Emma Stone In Valentino Couture, Allison Williams In Giambattista Valli Couture & Nikolaj Coster-Waldau In Salvatore Ferragamo

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lizzy Caplan In Donna Karan Atelier, Emma Stone In Valentino Couture

It was a week where glamour came back to the red carpet, with the Emmy Awards and the Venice Film Festival, and it’s from those two events that you couldn’t separate your favourites.

Lizzy Caplan swept you away in her Donna Karan Atelier black and white gown and Emma Stone was breathtaking making her return to the red carpet with a new ‘do in Valentino Couture.

I, on the other hand, had narrowed my favourites down to four. After much deliberation I picked Allison Williams in her enchanting Giambattista Valli Couture gown, which may have been too princessey for some, but this look swept me away.

There were many fine gents in suits this week. Mostly all black, so how do you pick them apart?

By the impeccable tailoring, slight detailing – such as contrasting buttons, a pocket square and straight bow tie – and of course devilishly good looks play their part, so up steps Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Salvatore Ferragamo to collect his prize for the win.

Jennifer Lopez In Valentino – American Idol New Orleans Auditions

Jennifer Lopez In Valentino - American Idol New Orleans Auditions

Jennifer Lopez was joined at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on Wednesday (August 27) in New Orleans, Louisiana by her American Idol co-judges, Harry Connick Jr and Keith Urban, for the latest round of auditions.

After letting JLo loose on the red carpet at the VMAs, Jennifer Lopez served up a more demure look on this occasion… Well, demure by her standards.

The scalloped hemline of her Valentino preppy black and white dress is typically high, yet I can’t help but be enamoured by this ’60s-style frock which oozes feminine charm.

While the oversized black bow against the black insert draws my attention in, it also highlights the rather uninspiring shoe choice.

A slicked-back bun Jack Vartanian black quartz and diamond earrings, a Sutra ring and a Le Vian diamond bracelet rounded out her look.

Too twee, or you’ll take anything after her VMAs frock?

Emma Stone In Valentino Couture – ‘Birdman’ Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Emma Stone In Valentino Couture - 'Birdman' Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Having recently wrapped filming Woody Allen’s ‘Magic in the Moonlight’, Emma Stone attended the premiere of her latest movie, ‘Birdman’, during the opening ceremony of the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy this evening (August 24).

Sporting a new shorter hairstyle – which we didn’t notice at the photocall as her hair was swept up into an updo – the actress glided down the red carpet wearing a Valentino Fall 2014 Couture gown; a frothy green tulle gown, no less.

Be still my beating heart.

Despite the red-hair green-gown combo setting my senses on fire, everything about this look is so poised, serene and elegant.

This is what my red carpet dreams are made of.

Keeping the bling to a bare minimum with only rings by Graziela Gems and EF Collection, she styled her breathtaking look with Jimmy Choo ‘Xenia’ sandals and a ‘Cameo’ clutch in gold.
