Julianne Moore In Valentino - 'What Maisie Knew' New York Screening

Julianne Moore attended the ‘What Maisie Knew’ screening on Thursday evening, held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City.

The actress blended into her surroundings wearing a black Valentino Pre-Fall 2013 dress.

Her black lace frock with a pleated skirt and lace hem was slightly modified from the look book version to provide more coverage on the bodice. While this was needed, it somewhat mummified the look, making Julianne appear older than she is.

Julianne’s favourite Tabitha Simmons Bailee lace-up sandals and a black satin clutch styled her look with a chic updo, and nude lip colour completing her look.

While this is pretty, I prefer Julianne when she’s being a bit more adventurous.

Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned of Qatar In Valentino Couture - Inauguration Of King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands Party

Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned of Qatar’s second look on Tuesday was even more stunning than her first as she attended the party after the water pageant to celebrate the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands after the abdication of his mother Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

You can always expect glamour, style and sophistication when it comes to Sheikha Mozah and this was most definitely the case on this occasion as she stunned wearing another Valentino Couture gown, this time from the Spring 2013 collection.

Her gown was, of course, modified to feature longer sleeves and a modest v-neck, plus she added an embellished waistband which complemented her subtle jewels.

A signature matching turban and a bold red lip colour to break up the beige completed her look.

Many of you thought the first look was very sombre, so you may be delighted by this summery hue.

Royals 1

There was yet more fashion to be had from our favourite royals, who joined Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser al Missned at the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands yesterday afternoon.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway: Valentino would be considered one of Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s favourite designers, so I was not surprised to see her don one of their looks for this festivity. Her Fall 2013 white-and-blue gown featuring beaded embroidery, which was presented as a mini dress, was decorated with royal family orders and accessorized with another delightfully subtle tiara featuring ivory-and-blue lace floral accents.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark: My queen opted for a Charlotte Lynggaard white silk dress with a floral print on the skirt and waist, which she styled with the same Prada pumps and Bottega Veneta clutch. On this occasion, she added a blue netted fascinator instead of the more traditional tiara. While this might be considered fairly laidback, she is the epitome of elegance.

Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser al Missned of Qatar In Valentino Couture - Inauguration Of King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands

In a very interesting coincidence, Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser al Missned of Qatar also wore a caped look during the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands yesterday, but in a subtle navy hue so as not to upstage Queen Máxima.

Looking as elegant as ever, Sheikha Mozah wore a Valentino Spring 2013 Couture look.

With slight modifications from the runway, including a lined blouse and signature turban, the stylish royal added gold jewels to her look instead of all the diamond bling we have been seeing over the two-day event.

I would be interested to see if this royal’s love of a dramatic cape will translate onto the red carpet, with both the Met Gala and Cannes Film Festival just around the corner.

Princess Máxima of the Netherlands In Valentino - Queen Beatrix Of The Netherlands Abdication State Dinner

Princess Máxima of the Netherlands was joined by Crown Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands on the red carpet at Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam yesterday evening for a dinner party hosted by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

The couple will be crowned King and Queen today and the Queen who will abdicate the throne, so this was also her formal farewell dinner.

The future queen saw out her last night as princess with a bang, wearing a head-turning Valentino Fall 2006 Couture red strapless gown with tiered ruffles and an embellished waist.

If this was a celebrity, I would be tempted to say she overdid it with the jewels, but Máxima’s diamond tiara, diamond necklace and bracelet are quite spectacular.

A red scarf, a red satin clutch and cascading curls completed the look.

Like all modern-day princesses, Máxima’s beautiful look is a re-run. She wore this gown to Prince Charles’s 60th birthday dinner back in 2008.

Malaga Film Festival Closing Ceremony

The 2013 Malaga Film Festival had its official closing ceremony at Teatro Cervantes in Spain on Saturday.

Juana Acosta: Probably the best-dressed star of this festival, Juana wore a gorgeous limoncello gown by Spanish designer, Lorenzo Caprile. The form-fitting gown with padded shoulders and a mermaid silhouette was styled with a Lorenzo Caprile gold clutch and Barcena jewels for a head-to-toe Spanish representative look. Glossy waves, a red lip colour and matching manicure completed her look.

Dafne Fernandez: My favourite Spanish actress kept it simple and chic, wearing an Oscar de la Renta navy gown from the Spring 2013 collection. Opting not to wear the gold-metallic belt that the dress was styled with on the runway, she instead added a gold clutch to her navy short-sleeved gown with a sheer yoke. While Dafne looks stunning, I would’ve preferred the look with the belt.

Eva Marciel: The actress also selected a bold colour, wearing a Carolina Herrera lace emerald-green one-shoulder gown styled with Jimmy Choo sandals, a gold Escada clutch and gold Tous jewels. Like Juana, she also opted for glossy waves, red lips and a red manicure.
