Kristen Wiig In Valentino – ‘Despicable Me 3’ London Photocall

Following her BBC Radio One appearance, Kristen Wiig was back on the red carpet for the ‘Despicable Me 3’ photocall in London on Wednesday (June 21).

Some might feel this monochrome Valentino Fall 2017 dress could have felt a little heavy given the soaring temperatures.

But, the actress accessorised with Irene Neuwirth 18k yellow gold earrings set with Kingman turquoise and equally uplifting blue and pink open-toe Malone Souliers ‘Lillian’ sandals, adding some summery touches and a dash of colour to the look.

Kristen’s new hairstyle, paired with the high-neck of this Victoriana style dress, feels a little dated. I do, however, love the uncomplicated ease of this ensemble which would’ve been perfect for those warmer months.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here’s a look at what the men have been serving up on the red carpet of late.

Josh Duhamel: At the China premiere for ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ on Tuesday (June 13), Josh let fellow attendees Isabela Moner and Laura Haddock take top fashion billing. His neutral suit by The Kooples wasn’t quite so memorable, and I wish the creased fit had presented better.

Jaime Foxx: Jamie joined Lily James at the ‘Baby Driver’ LA premiere on Wednesday (June 14), where his polka-dot suit was the right mix of suave, spirited and sophisticated. It’s always nice to see something outside the standard suiting work so well on the red carpet.

Tom Holland: At a Madrid photocall for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ with Zendaya on Wednesday (June 14), Tom kept his style to off-duty superhero vibes in a casual and cool ensemble from The Kooples paired with a Miansai dove pendant necklace. While the slouchy denim and high-top sneakers can be a hard sell, he pulls it off here.

‘The Beguiled’ LA Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

More stars took to the red carpet for ‘The Beguiled’ LA premiere on Monday (June 12), joining Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, and Kirsten Dunst.

Emma Howard: Self-Portrait’s signature lace was put to work in this one-shoulder, cutout dress from the Fall 2017 collection. My biggest issue here was with her eggplant-hued platform sandals, as they completely compromised any allure of the frock.

Sofia Coppola: While this Valentino Pre-Fall 2017 dress was very much in keeping with Sofia’s no-nonsense, effortless-chic aesthetic—as well as her favouritism for the colour black—I love the delicate femininity afforded by the pink floral print with her makeup echoing that boho-romantic spirit.

Courtney Love: Silk-satin dresses can be tricky to wear, and unfortunately this Roksanda Zenku Spring 2017 open-back design fails to flatter, between the droopy sleeves and the dropped waistline. The heavy-handed makeup and equally intense shoes don’t help matters here at all.

Anne Hathaway In Valentino & Emily Blunt In Peter Pilotto – Jessica Chastain & Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo’s Wedding

Over the weekend, Jessica Chastain and Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo celebrated their wedding in northern Italy, with both Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt in attendance.

‘La dolce vita’ was alive and well in both Anne and Emily’s looks, as they channeled a vibrant colour palette of bold reds, pink, and fuchsia.

I love how Anne added a striking turquoise necklace and Giuseppe Zanotti flat sandals to her Valentino Spring 2017 silk patterned gown, further enlivening its romantic, bohemian flare.

Emily took a more measured approach in her Peter Pilotto Fall 2017 foliage-printed dress that was beautiful in its colour saturation. However, I did prefer the original runway silhouette as I found it to be more inspired and interesting from top to toe. Rupert Sanderson metallic heels completed her look on a non-consequential note, when an equally bright shoe—even turquoise like her earrings—would have provided more splash.

Anne’s look won out for me. Which did you prefer?

Lily Collins In Valentino – ‘Okja’ New York Premiere

Lily Collins was a lady in red at the New York Premiere of her new movie, ‘Okja’, on Thursday (June 8).

I love the unadulterated explosion of colour that this Fall 2017 Valentino gown delivers. The deep rich red hue paired with the matte plum lip packs a serious red carpet punch.

This is a fantasy dress which offers pure escapism, something true of Valentino’s entire Fall 2017 collection. From the high Victoriana neckline and waist to the bohemian embroidery and ruffles, this look is utterly captivating.

The actresses styling, a bold lip, sleek no-nonsense ponytail, and Harry Winston jewelry were impactful.

Would you have liked to have seen more boho touches in the styling choices as seen on the runway with the model’s braids?

‘The Mummy’ Mexico City Premiere

The promo tour for ‘The Mummy’ continued in Mexico City, with Sofia Boutella and Annabelle Wallis in attendance at the premiere on Monday (June 5).

Sofia Boutella: As in Madrid, Sofia showed an affinity for sparkling embellishment in a Valentino Pre-Fall 2017 sequin-encrusted dress. Given the all-over shine and rich red hue, the simplicity of the feminine silhouette ensured the look wasn’t overcooked. The added drama she brought with the dark ruby lip, though, was a good choice.

Annabelle Wallis: Annabelle looked as if she could have borrowed Sofia’s lipstick, with her equally dramatic pout that played in beautifully with her Zac Posen Fall 2017 woven crochet gown. I love how the directional geometry of the stripes nipped and tucked at the waist and created such a flattering visual feast.
