Natalia Vodianova In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture – Preliminary Draw of the 2018 FIFA World Cup

Natalia Vodianova In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture - Preliminary Draw of the 2018 FIFA World Cup

My two worlds came together – fashion and football – when Natalia Vodianova co-hosted the preliminary draw of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at The Konstantin Palace on Saturday (July 25) in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Flying the flag for Russia, literally, the supermodel not only dressed patriotically during the ceremony, wearing three dresses in white, blue and red – symbolizing the Russian flag – but they were also custom made by Russian designer Ulyana Sergeenko.

You won’t be surprised that the blue dress caught my eye first; not only for the colour, but also for the structural brilliance.

Having said that I can’t help but be swept away by the ethereal, fairytale elegance of the white gown.

When I comes to the red look, I think I would’ve preferred this sans sleeves and with a not-so-harsh red lip colour.

Which look was your favourite?

amfAR Paris Red Carpet Roundup

amfar paris

There were many more celebs who joined Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on the red carpet for the amfAR dinner, hosted at the Pavilion LeDoyen during Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture on Sunday (July 5) in Paris, France.

Karlie Kloss: The model went from runway to red carpet without skipping a beat, wearing the same finale look from the Atelier Versace Fall 2015 collection which she presented. A smoothless transition if I ever saw one.

Olivia Palermo: When it came to Olivia’s marigold Dior look, the word smooth was nowhere in the equation. The words crumpled, creased, needed-a-steam spring to mind. Creases aside, this is such a harsh colour for Olivia and not a flattering style.

Emilia Clarke In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture – ‘Terminator Genisys’ Seoul Premiere

Emilia Clarke In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture - ‘Terminator Genisys’ Seoul Premiere

Following the press conference, Emilia Clarke attended the Seoul premiere of ‘Terminator Genisys’ at the Lotte World Tower Mall this evening (July 2) in South Korea.

The actress wore a Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2014 Couture gown which had me at odds.

Positives: I love that she opted for yet another big gown. A princess gown will always going to go down well during a big budget promo tour.

Negatives: I hate the colour and the bodice.

Call me hypocritical – as I have been bemoaning the lack of colourful options during this promo tour – but the shades of yellow are simply awful. I don’t find the colour flattering at all.

The molded bustier may be signature of the Russian designer, but they never seem to translate well on the red carpet for me. This being exhibit B, as Rose McGowan’s WHCD gown was exhibit A.

Weekend Red Carpet Roundup

weekend roundup

The weekend brought with it a garden variety of ensembles from Los Angeles to London, and more. Here, a glance at the looks and the starlets who wore them.

Emma Roberts: Joining Diane Kruger and Freida Pinto, the actress was at the 8th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park on Saturday (May 30) in Jersey City, New Jersey. She styled her sunny yellow Christine Alcalay Spring 2015 dress with Michael Kors Benji straw wedge sandals, an M2malletier Mini Amor Fati leopard pony bag, and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi Chantilly sunglasses, all topped off with a braided ’do.

Elsa Pataky: Elsa was the picture of girly charm, as she joined Emily Blunt at the Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park on Sunday (May 31) in London, England. Her rose-printed Ulyana Sergeenko demi couture dress was adorable yet I would have loved to see it without the pink sweater. Casadei nude suede pumps assured her legs went on for days, with a Paula Cademartori clutch finishing the look.

Sophia Bush: The actress was at Glamour USA’s June ‘Success’ Issue dinner party at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California on Friday (May 29). While her Vivienne Westwood Fall 2015 dress, worn with a Rauwolf clutch and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, was rather elaborate with its heavy print and silhouette, she ensured the look stayed fresh with her hair and makeup on the barely-there side.

Marion Cotillard In Ulyana Sergeenko Demi Couture & Christian Dior Couture – ‘Macbeth’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Marion Cotillard In Ulyana Sergeenko Demi Couture & Christian Dior Couture - 'Macbeth' Photocall & Premiere

Marion Cotillard made two colourful showings at the ‘Macbeth’ photocall and premiere, each held during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 23) in Cannes, France.

Photocall: Those in favour of the days in which Marion skips a Dior look may gravitate towards this Ulyana Sergeenko Demi Couture jumpsuit. The candy-stripe hues were delightful, and she amped up the sassy spirit with her pink patent mules. I just wish the pants had been tailored rather than slouch at her ankles for a more seamless silhouette.

: Leaving the long, sweeping Cannes gowns behind, she put on a Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture frock with metallic silver heels and Chopard jewels. It may have been a mini-dress, but it packed a mega impact with its high-wattage embellishment and all-over modern dazzle.
