German actress Emilia Schuele made a bold splash at both the Munich and Berlin premieres of ‘Jugend ohne Gott’ on Monday (August 21) and Tuesday (August 22), respectively, in Germany.
Munich Premiere: Putting her own unique interpretation on this Prada Fall 2017 embellished skirt, Emilia styled the ladylike, red-and-aqua piece with a contemporary twist in her colour-block crop top, which some may liken to a glorified sports bra. The red, studded Miu Miu clutch seemed a bit large and distracting, and at this point, I say why settle for a nude pump instead of a sassy red or pink shoe.
Berlin Premiere: Another day, another completely different midriff look—as Emilia served up her version of pyjama dressing in this relaxed-chic Topshop suit paired with a Jonathan Simkhai crop top. Of her two looks, this was by far my favourite, as it translated effortlessly despite its bolder nature. The play on proportions was spot-on, and the mix of the bold stripes with the wave of the top was visually intriguing. I’m so glad she styled it with a sleek bun and a few glittery accessories for just the right amount of finishing sparkle.
What did you make of her two premiere outings?
Grace VanderWaal was looking very laid-back as she attended her first 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (August 13) in LA.
She wore a bubblegum pink Topshop trouser suit complete with pink neck bow tee and silver glittery Minna Parikka shoes.
I love how this goes against the cutesy dress grain, as I think her tomboy look achieved simple sophistication.
Usually blonde, the singer opted for a purple tint to give her sleekly styled look a dramatic finish.
Aubrey Plaza has also been in the mix at Comic-Con 2017, where she attended the Entertainment Weekly and FX After Dark event on Thursday (July 20) before swinging by the ‘Legion’ screening and Q&A on Friday (July 21).
Entertainment Weekly and FX After Dark: Going for a sweetly casual look, she wore a flirty Topshop floral-print romper that had its charm. But I cannot say that the white Tod’s shoes would have been my first pick.
‘Legion’ Screening: As for her second look, the Tod’s shoes again were a bit befuddling as the orange hue was a strange contrast with her playfully chic 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble. I think it would have been far better served with a complementary sandal for a more streamlined approach. But, you cannot fault her for having some fun.
Queen Letizia of Spain proved she is the reigning champion of modern regal style on day two and three of her state visit to the United Kingdom.
On Thursday she turned heads as she attended a lavish banquet at Guildhall looking so very elegant wearing a Giorgio Armani gown which draped beautifully, enhancing her slender silhouette.
Blue is most definitely her colour, choosing to accessorise her look with sapphire jewels along with a shimmering tiara. I much prefer this over her red Felipe Varela gown.
On Friday, the third and final day of their visit, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the Francis Crick Institute, before saying their goodbyes to their royal hosts at Buckingham Palace.
I was both surprised and delighted to see the Queen wearing a Topshop pleat front ’40s style skirt with an asymmetrial wrap top.
Her maroon pumps threw me off for a second, until I saw the details on her raffia clutch bag which tied things together.
I would say this was a very successful trip for the Queen of Spain.
Paris has not changed Bella Hadid’s street-style M.O., as she has continued to favour looks that walk the line between sporty and funky—of course, always with a nod towards her distinct brand of off-duty sexiness.
Sunday (July 2): Taking menswear plaid and turning it on its head, Bella put her own mark on this Marcelo Burlon County of Milan Fall 2017 blue denim, long-sleeve shirt and matching cropped high-rise pants by styling it with a shrunken, midriff tee—out of which her black bra conveniently peeked. The slit detailing on the shirt’s arms almost created the illusion of a cape effect for a slightly dramatic edge, dressed up more with her Dior bag and mule heels.
Monday (July 3): Plaid also took top billing here, as she tied up her yellow-and-white patterned shirt and paired it with a lace-up Topshop denim skirt for a distinctly western-inspired, Parisian cowgirl mood—with a mod flair, of course, given the Stuart Weitzman white booties and Roberi & Fraud retro-influenced white sunglasses.
Are you mad for her Parisian plaid?
