Sandra Bullock In Marchesa – 2012 Oscars

Usually not one to make a fuss, Sandra Bullock stood out on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars, held in Hollywood this evening.

The Oscar winning actress chose a Marchesa gown for Hollywood’s biggest night.

Her black-and-white silk crepe gown with gold embroidered detail around the waist lacks the typical Marchesa girliness and sparkle, but an elegantly draped back is a classic detail of the red carpet favourites.

While it’s impossible to deny the beauty of any Marchesa gown, this severe look is a bit too aging for the actress, and ultimately looks a bit ill-fitted.

A sleek ponytail and flawless makeup finish the look.

Melissa McCarthy In Marina Rinaldi – 2012 Oscars

‘Best Supporting Actress’ nominee Melissa McCarthy walked the red carpet in Hollywood this evening for the 2012 Oscars.

The breakout star of ‘Bridesmaids’ donned a Custom Marina Rinaldi dress.

The sienna rose silk chiffon goddess gown featured a pleated bodice attached to a hand-embroidered crystal collar and waist.

Brian Atwood and Melissa have been friends since high-school, so he custom-made her some ‘Wagner’ peep toe shoes with a personalized sole, encrusted with Swarovski crystals.

These lust-worthy heels were matched with a custom Brian Atwood Concy minaudiere, also encrusted with Swarovski crystals.

As if that wasn’t enough bling, Melissa accessorized with Chopard jewelry.

Kristen Wiig In J. Mendel – 2012 Oscars

There has been no bigger fan of neutral colours on the red carpet than ‘Bridesmaids’ star Kristen Wiig.

Attending the 2012 Oscars in Hollywood this evening as a nominee for ‘Best Original Screenplay,’ Kristen wore a nude J.Mendel Pre-Fall 2012 gown.

The strapless dress nips at the waist before trailing into a shirred tulle skirt.

In a sea of up-dos and smooth curls, Kristen showed off a relatively relaxed hairstyle. The casual look perfectly suits the funny lady.

Diamond bangles and a gorgeous emerald ring complete the look.

Tina Fey In Carolina Herrera – 2012 Oscars

Carolina Herrera wanted to dress only one star for the 2012 Oscars, held in Hollywood this evening.

Tina Fey was this lucky actress, wearing a custom Carolina Herrera midnight blue strapless gown with a chic peplum detail.

Every time we see Tina hit the red carpet, she keeps getting better and better, and this is no exception.

My favourite part of the entire ensemble is her voluminous up-do. Such a glamorous look is perfect for the fancy occasion.

A black satin Roger Vivier Short Night tube clutch and Bulgari jewels completed her look.

Natalie Portman In Vintage Christian Dior – 2012 Oscars

Last year’s ‘Best Actress’ winner, Natalie Portman returned to the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars in Hollywood this evening.

Natalie has stayed relatively low-key since her 2011 Oscar win to focusing on her new family.

You would never know that Nat just had her first child months ago, as she looked stunning this 1954 Christian Dior Haute Couture vintage gown.

As the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume, it’s no shock that Natalie donned Dior for Hollywood’s biggest night.

Wearing this red strapless gown with subtle polka dot detail, I completely see the Audrey Hepburn comparison that has followed Natalie for her entire career.

Statement diamond jewels and bouncy hair complete the retro-inspired look.

Jessica Chastain In Alexander McQueen – 2012 Oscars

Jessica Chastain has been one to watch on the red carpet over the past few months.

Between the highs and the lows, Jessica has yet to define a ‘signature style’ like her ‘The Help’ co-stars, Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone.

For the 2012 Oscars, held in Hollywood this evening, Jessica went completely regal in a black strapless Alexander McQueen gown.

Her silk organza corset gown embroidered with gold bullion and metal thread was custom-made by Sarah Burton who was inspired by nature to create this look.

This is one of the most daring looks we’ve seen tonight, and I am so impressed with Jessica for taking such a risk.

Of course, she didn’t take the biggest risk of all – carrying a clutch on the carpet.
