Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Menswear 9 April 2013

Nick Cannon: The host of ‘America’s Got Talent’ joined Heidi Klum on the red carpet at the Rockefeller Center for the New York auditions. Going for a dapper look wearing a two-piece Vivienne Westwood Man suit, I find myself being bothered by the fit of the pants. The blazer features an insert waistcoat, giving the look a smart but trendy feel with a gold chain and button closure He styled his suit with a grey floral brooch, a lavender shirt, a blue printed tie with a tie pin, and grey shoes.

Robert Downing Jr.: The actor is still in Asia promoting the third installment of the ‘Iron Man’ franchise. On this occasion, he attended a photocall in Beijing, China wearing a Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2013 burgundy cotton two-button notch lapel suit. Aside from the obligatory sneakers by Lanvin, this was a surprisingly quirk-free look. I love the colour; the complementary CK shirt and purple tinted glasses help make this one of his best looks so far on this tour.

Alexander Skarsgard: The handsome actor joined Paula Patton on the red carpet last night for the ‘Disconnect’ New York screening. I have one word for Alexander in this Calvin Klein grey suit and black shirt: swoon.

Bradley Cooper In Tom Ford - ‘The Place Beyond The Pines’ New York Premiere

It was very much boys night on the red carpet at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema for ‘The Place Beyond The Pines’ New York premiere yesterday evening, as Bradley Cooper was in attendance alongside Dane Dehaan and Ryan Gosling.

The Oscar nominated actor, who is still sporting the manly beard he started growing mid-awards season, wore yet another Tom Ford suit. As the saying goes, “If it ain’t broke…”

His black notch lapel 3-three piece suit, my favourite kind, was styled with a fine checked blue shirt and multi blue striped tie.

I’m not too fond of the hiking-style boots with this look, but with those piercing baby blues, I’m really not paying much attention to his feet.

Ryan Seacrest & Justin Timberlake In Tom Ford - iHeartRadio ’20 20′ Album Release Party With Justin Timberlake

To celebrate the release of Justin Timberlake’s first album since 2006, The 20/20 Experience, Target and iHeartRadio hosted a party held at El Rey Theatre on Monday in Los Angeles.

Ryan Seacrest: The ‘American Idol’ host stepped out in Tom Ford, wearing a grey jacket and black trousers. It was a bit of a surprise given Ryan’s relationship with Burberry which sees him wearing the British brand exclusively on the red carpet. He is the only celebrity you don’t have to ask, “who are you wearing?” To accent the look, he added a white shirt, a white pocket square, and a black pin-dot tie. Everything fit well and Ryan looked smooth, as usual.

Justin Timberlake: He certainly looked like the centre of the party, wearing a Tom Ford black tuxedo with wide satin peak lapels. Along with his perfectly tailored suit, Justin wore a black shirt with white polka dots and a black knit tie with a gold tie bar. He finished it off with black-and-white Christian Louboutin ‘Junior Flat’ lace-up shoes, a matching pocket square, and a slicked-back side parting. Justin’s ongoing collaboration with Tom Ford has continued since his micro-plaid suit at the 2013 SAG Awards.

Both looks were very clean and fun but, as the star of the show, Justin definitely looked better.

Menswear round up

Jude Law: In mid-February at the ‘Side Effects’ Berlin photocall, Jude wore a red v-neck shirt under his Prada double-breasted suit. At the film’s Paris premiere at UGC Cine Cite des Halles on Thursday, he attempted, and failed at, a similar look; the star of the film arrived in a Prada navy double-breasted suit over a charcoal v-neck shirt. The jacket looked nice and the v-neck worked, but his baggy pants ruined it all.

Leonardo DiCaprio: At the Seoul, South Korea premiere of ‘Django Unchained’ on Thursday, Leo sported a Tom Ford navy three-piece suit with wide peak lapels and a matching navy tie. This look had everything going for it, except proper tailoring. Not only did his jacket need to be nipped in at the sides to give him more of a V shape, his pants were rather baggy. So close, but yet so far.

Adrien Brody: In the most dapper look of the week, Adrien was in attendance for Carine Roitfeld’s ‘CR Fashion Book Issue 2′ cocktail party as part of Paris Fashion Week at Hotel Shangri-La on Tuesday. The actor arrived wearing a well-tailored Margiela black shawl-lapel suit along with a white shirt and black ankle boots, both of which were also Margiela. He styled his look nicely with a black bow tie and a black-faced watch.

Goya Cinema Awards 2013 - Red Carpet

No one should be surprised that Nieves Alvarez won best dressed this week wearing her amazing Stéphane Rolland Couture gown. It was a forgone conclusion.

For the men, you picked Justin Timberlake in his classic Tom Ford suit, while I loved Labrinth in his more adventurous Dent de Man printed suit.

Justin Timberlake In Tom Ford Brit Awards

After taking his front row seat at the Tom Ford Fall 2013 presentation earlier this week, Justin Timberlake attended the 2013 Brit Awards in London on Wednesday evening, looking very dapper wearing another Tom Ford suit.

It looked like he understands the key to any suit, which is perfect tailoring, when he selected this grey, peak-lapel suit.

The look fit him just right. The jacket featured a ticket pocket and a silver silk pocket square.  To finish off his look, Justin wore a white shirt, a black knit tie, and black lace-up shoes.

This Tom Ford outfit isn’t as flashy as what he wore to the Grammys or as bold as what he wore to London Fashion Week, but it looks fantastic.

He was saving bold and flashy for the performance, for which he donned yet another Tom Ford suit.

The black glossy garbardine shawl-collar tuxedo jacket was styled with a bow tie, white dress shirt, and pants with a satin trim, accented with a cummerbund.

He wore the black-and-white tap shoes he wore to the Grammys.
