Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From awards galas to premieres and more, there were plenty of occasions for the men to be out in force on the red carpet. Here’s a look at the men who have been front and centre.

Justin Timberlake: Proving that the velvet trend isn’t just for the ladies, Justin cut a thoroughly suave profile in this dark-green velvet Tom Ford tuxedo at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood. I love this luxe twist on the classic tux.

Jason Momoa: Although his styling may have been more in the manner of edgy-bohemian, Jason’s custom Valentino tuxedo was quite smooth and polished at the ‘Justice League’ LA premiere on Monday (November 13).

Jared Leto: It’s Jared Leto and it’s an MTV event, so it’s only natural that he would go sartorially wild at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London with his latest Gucci endeavor—a Fall 2017 look that was even more subversively rebellious than the runway presentation. The colour discord between the lavender, bubblegum, and red track pants made me want to shield my eyes—and we haven’t even gotten to the tidy-whitey sneakers.

Kaia Gerber’s Paris Fashion Week Style

Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, may only be 16, but she has the supermodel gene. She just walked the Saint Laurent runway on Tuesday (September 26) during Paris Fashion Week, but her off-duty style has also provided plenty of catwalk-worthy moments in France—and the week has only just begun.

Look 1: On Tuesday (September 26), she rocked a pair of striped trousers from The Kooples Fall 2017 collection that stayed on the sophisticated side of trendy thanks to her styling. I love how she kept the look minimal with timeless shades, a black jumper and buckle-strap block heels to round out the statement pants. The look was complete with shades and a Stalvey bag.

Look 2: The day before, Monday (September 25), Kaia trotted out another cool-girl-on-the-town look in this Alice McCall embellished, two-piece set that subtly riffed on overalls. The Freda Salvador mules and Prada Cahier bag brought a classic spin to the youthful-chic look.

Look 3: Also on Monday, she was seen in another edgy-forward look, this one combining the feminine floral motif of a Réalisation Par mini dress with the tougher spirit of a Laer Pre-Fall 2017 cropped moto jacket, an Eddie Borgo denim cross-body bag, and retro-inspired Vogue shades. Naturally, the lug-sole boots provided a touch of stylish grunge appeal, while likely being a comfortable option for the streets of Paris.

She was three for three with these looks that showcase an impressive grasp of style beyond her years. Would you agree?

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here’s midweek roundup of the men who have been spotted on the red-carpet circuit at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival and beyond.

Garrett Hedlund: There’s no denying that Garrett did look like quite the charmer at the ‘Mudbound’ TIFF premiere on Tuesday (September 12), despite the stuffier nature of his three-piece Dolce & Gabbana suit that could have used some proper tailoring through the pants, as well.

Luke Evans: I much preferred Luke’s Dolce & Gabbana ensemble at the ‘Professor Marston & The Wonder Woman’ TIFF premiere on Tuesday, as the aubergine colour of the suit mixed with the sky-blue shirt and paisley printed tie was such a handsome combo.

Andrew Garfield: The ‘Breathe’ TIFF premiere on Monday (September 11) had the actor dressing up in a charcoal Tom Ford suit styled with a wide, textural tie for added impact—and a less expected play on proportions, when a skinnier tie might have been anticipated with the slim-line jacket and pants.

2017 GQ Men of The Year Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Naturally, there were a number of handsome stars at the 2017 GQ Men of The Year Awards, hosted on Tuesday (September 5) in London. Here, a look at how they dressed to impress.

Tinie Tempah: Aubergine suits always seem to make an impact, and this Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2017 ensemble was no different—except that its decorative embossing made for an even more style-forward outing. Of course, the look would not have been complete without Tinie’s signature sockless shoes.

Jared Leto: We can always count on Jared to deliver his own unique version of directional style on the red carpet. And, he did just that in this Gucci Fall 2017 floral and plaid ensemble that possessed a distinct aura of stylized, aristocratic eccentricity. Love or loathe the look, he always keeps it interesting.

James Norton: As the winner of the Breakthrough Actor of the Year award, James dressed up in a Thom Sweeney double-breasted suit. Was it just me, or did the proportions seem a bit odd between the small bow-tie, the sliver of dress shirt, and the buttoned-up jacket?

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The ‘Detroit’ premiere in Detroit, Michigan on Tuesday (July 25) brought a number of men to the red carpet this week, with the Paris premiere of ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ rounding out this mid-week roundup.

Will Poulter: For the premiere of ‘Detroit,’ Will kept it traditionally safe in a Prada Fall 2017 navy suit sparked with a blue-gray dress shirt and standard maroon tie.

Algee Smith: Also in a Prada Fall 2017 ensemble at the ‘Detroit’ premiere, I was far more jazzed about Algee’s blue number that was only strengthened more by the graphic impact of his patterned yellow-and-black shirting. It made for a punchy yet polished showing that certainly caught my attention.

Anthony Mackie: While too much sheen can be a strike against a look, I still liked Anthony’s bold embrace of colour here, playing off the pinstripe in his blue Isaia suit with the teal dress shirt and tie. It was unusual, yes, but spunky. Salvatore Ferragamo calf-leather, lace-up shoes completed his ‘Detroit’ statement.
