Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Kate Beckinsale attended a press conference at The London Hotel in West Hollywood today with actor Anthony Mackie to announce the nominations for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

The British actress showed off her long, toned legs wearing a Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012 dress.

Her beautiful white and nude tulle cocktail dress was made considerably shorter. Thankfully she did this by hitching up the dress higher instead of ruin that gorgeous embroidered lace hemline.

Kate didn’t add many accessories, just a pair of nude Brian Atwood pumps and ivory drop earrings.

Glossy waves and glossy lips completed her look.

Octavia Spencer attended the 2011 Governors Awards dinner in LA on Saturday night.

The breakout star of ‘The Help’ wore a Tadashi Shoji Fall 2011 black embroidered lace gown with bateau neckline.

While the unique lace pattern is beautiful and the neckline extremely flattering, the look falls apart in the styling.

The belt could be trimmed and better proportioned to the bustline, as seen on the runway, while the shawl should be ditched entirely.

It may be cliché, but a pop of colour (bangles! lipstick! A clutch!) might have saved this ensemble from looking so funeral procession appropriate.

Victoria Justice attended the 2011 TeenNick Halo Awards which were held at the Hollywood Palladium in California yesterday.

She wore a Tadashi Shoji ruched mini dress, which I suppose is cute enough if you like this type of thing, but I don’t. It’s kinda sickly sweet for me. I actually have a toothache looking at this dress.

I’m also not fond of her Giuseppe Zanotti ankle-strap sculptural wedges with this dress.

Victoria’s hair is also too matronly for this look. Despite it being styled into a central parting with a ponytail, it feels so rigid.

The only thing I like here is the lip colour and the wedges on their own.

Here is a round up of the rest of those who attended the 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala in LA on Monday night.

Stacy Keibler: George Clooney’s +1 wore almost an identical Maria Lucia Hohan strapless gown to the one she wore in London. Is she stuck in a style rut already? Her purple silk mousseline gown with a ruffled detail on the bodice was teamed with a black Kotur clutch and silver jewels.

Shailene Woodley: The other ‘new girl on the block’ opted to wear a lingerie-inspired Moschino Cheap and Chic LBD. Rachel Zoe black satin pumps, a Loree Rodkin ring and a Judith Leiber ‘FEED 1000’ clutch completed her look.

Julianne Hough: The actress/dancer debuted a new haircut at this event wearing a Naeem Khan Spring 2012 metallic gold rose-motif beaded dress. As pretty as she looks, she has an underlying cheese factor that makes it very hard for me to take her seriously on the red carpet.

Ahna O’Reilly: The ‘The Help’ actress joined her co-stars on the red carpet wearing a Theia mini dress. Her nude crystal-encrusted mini dress was teamed with a gold clutch and nude pumps.

Tadashi Shoji was clearly inspired by a beautiful garden for his Spring 2012 collection.

The first look was a gorgeous magnolia hand-painted silk linen strapless tulip shaped dress followed by several other blooming dresses in shades of violet, fern green and yellow.

Floral appliqués, floral prints and floral-inspired lace adorned nearly all of the beautiful cocktail dresses and gown which took to the runway.

If you are looking for more than floral details for your Spring 2012 closets, then you could opt for Tadashi’s linen striped dresses or the beaded show-stopping gowns and cocktail dresses which had the magpie in me drooling.

Tiered tulle dresses shimmered on the runway as their metallic embroidered details provided the sparkle.

Key accessories included Joan & David shoes plus Miram Salat jewels.

Front Row: JoJo, Julia Jones, Carrie Preston and Virgina Williams

Favourites: Tulip strapless dress and one-shoulder beaded gown

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Ashley Tisdale, Taylor Swift, Lady Alice St Clair Erskine, Andrea Riseborough, Abbie Cornish, Emily Blunt and Zoe Saldana

Best Baby Mama Award
Can you believe Laila Ali had a baby just 4 months ago?

The professional boxer looked gorgeous on the red carpet at the 2011 ESPY Awards last night, as she’s already snapped back to her pre-baby body.

In fact she looks better than ever.

She opted to wear a Tadashi Shoji Spring 2011 dress.

Her elegant ¾-sleeve black lace dress was accented with a scalloped neckline and tulip skirt.

Champagne coloured peep-toes perfected this look.

Note to self. Hit the gym that much harder tomorrow.

Former tennis star Anna Kournikova attended the BAFTA Brits To Watch Event in LA on Saturday night.

She wore a beautiful Tadashi Shoji jade green gown.

The elegant one-shoulder gown features a cascading ruffle detail from its gathered waistline which shows a silky lining.

My only problem with this look is the hair, as it looks like she just stepped off a Court at Wimbledon or Flushing Meadows after going 5 sets with Serena Williams.
