2017 Time 100 Gala Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more looks to grace the red carpet for the 2017 Time 100 Gala on Tuesday (April 25) in New York City.

Naomi Campbell: The supermodel opted for an Alaia piece which was selected not only to colour coordinate with the step and repeat, but also because of its fine craftsmanship. Yes, it’s a bit heavy for spring, but Naomi has always marched to the beat of her own drum.

Margot Robbie: While I wish this Prada dress wasn’t so shapeless, the colourful embellishments – which reminded me of 100s and 1000s – the pale yellow hue, Delfina Delettrez jewels and the pretty pink purse did soften my stance and I have to say I love the look.

Ashley Graham: I love Ashley’s style, but I couldn’t get on board with what I feel is the over-styling of this look – starting with that choker. The look consisted of a Cami NYC camisole, Nili Lotan ‘Maya’ maxi skirt and Fleur Du Mal corset.

End Of The Week Roundup

With so many looks over the past week, here is a roundup of a few that were missed in the red carpet crush of events.

Julie Ann Emery: Joining Jenny Slate at the ‘Gifted’ LA premiere on Tuesday (April 4), Julie Ann embraced a minimalist angle in this Ingie Paris gown that was lovely for its aura of simplicity, although it seemed to fall a tad long at the front.

Olivia Culpo: Speaking of minimalism, this greige Cushnie et Ochs asymmetric jumpsuit was an easy-chic offering. But, it really just played second fiddle to her ultra-bronzed beauty at the grand opening celebration of the W Las Vegas on Friday (March 31).

Jess Weixler:‏ Visually enticing, the crisp white lines of this Jason Wu gown punctuated its rich burgundy hue. I only wish the actress had opted for a sleeker updo at ‘The SON’ LA premiere on Monday (April 3).

Demi Lovato In Tadashi Shoji – ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’ LA Premiere

On Saturday (April 1) Demi Lovato attended the premiere of ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’ in Culver City, California.

Her Tadashi Shoji Resort 2017 floral dress couldn’t have been a more appropriate look; channelling the fluidity and carefree feel of a beach cover-up.

The look required nothing more than a pair of strappy sandals for a contemporary take on summer romanticism.

SXSW Film Festival Weekend Roundup

The 2017 SXSW Conference and Festivals kicked off this weekend with a host of stars showcasing a more relaxed set of styles in Austin, Texas.

Charlize Theron – ‘Atomic Blonde’ premiere: The actress looked gorgeous opting for a Givenchy LBD where the fluidity of the fabric is beautifully offset by its artful draping. She completed her look with Christian Louboutin ‘Loulouboot’ booties.

Sarah Wayne Callies – ‘This Is Your Death’ premiere: If there was an all-black dress code, Sarah wasn’t buying it. Instead she presented a rainbow of colours courtesy of Tracy Reese.

Rooney Mara -‘Song to Song’ premiere: I love how the lace sleeves temper this boyish Saint Laurent look, but the best thing about this look if the how relaxed Rooney is here. SUSI Studio ‘Emerson’ brogues completed her look.

Jennifer Beals In Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna & Tadashi Shoji- ‘Before I Fall’ New York Special Screening

Sadly, Jennifer Beals didn’t have Coco’s wise words: “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off” ringing in her ears before headed out to the ‘Before I Fall’ New York screening on Tuesday (February 28) in New York City.

I have an aversion to anything below 65 Fahrenheit myself, but there is a huge battle going on between the metallic’s and sequins of her Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna outfit, with the faux fur Tadashi Shoji coat.

Should she have left the coat, or worn the coat with a simpler top?

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – 2017 SAG Awards

Octavia Spencer looked stunning at the 2017 SAG Awards in LA on Sunday (January 29).

The actress wore a custom designed Tadashi Shoji gown with a ruched neckline and peplum detailing.

I always love Octavia Spencer’s red carpet choices, and tonight is no different! While she chose the most simple, classic of colors, there is so much detailing and interest to the gown, I can’t stop staring at it! And it is obvious that it was created just for her–the fit is simply impeccable.

I am also crazy about her choice of turquoise jewelry, and that fierce smoked-out eye.

Are you loving Octavia’s look as much as I am?

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji & Laura Basci – BAFTA Tea Party & 2017 Golden Globe Awards

Octavia Spencer was also at the BAFTA Tea Party on January 7 at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles before attending the 2017 Golden Globe Awards on January 8 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, where she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for ‘Hidden Figures.’

BAFTA Tea Party: With another look from her go-to designer, Tadashi Shoji, the actress edged up her lace burgundy top and flouncy skirt with a black leather jacket.

2017 Golden Globe Awards: Instead of a gown, she was one of a few actresses who wore the pants in the family at the Golden Globes. Her Laura Basci midnight-blue suit received a dressier twist with satiny tonal lapels and racing stripes down the pant. What really caught the eye, though, was her 40-carat Lorraine Schwartz emerald ring, which is her birthstone. I would have never predicted Octavia to wear this, but it is nice to see her stepping outside her more expected style pattern.
