Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Shu Qi attended the Beijing press conference for her latest project, ‘Journey to the West’, in China last Thursday.

The actress wore a Stella McCartney one-sleeved illusion cut-out dress, which she accessorized with electric-blue patent pumps with embellishments on the heel.

Usually demure, I love this sexier look on Shu Qi. I love the pops of blue via her nails and pumps, but I wish she had swept her hair over her other shoulder to show off the more interesting, sculptured details.

Miranda Kerr in Stella McCartney - Whole Foods

Fresh off her ‘Street Style Queen of 2012’ win, Miranda Kerr was back in her playground as she was spotted getting groceries from Whole Foods after paying a visit to the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood on Friday.

The Victoria’s Secret model was hard to miss, wearing a bright-yellow Stella McCartney blazer with a white Rag & Bone ‘Majorca’ skirt and a beautiful blue floral Erdem top.

Nude Celine pumps, Stella McCartney grey spotty tortoise shades and a blue Miu Miu push-lock shoulder bag accessorized her look.

Enviable glossy tresses and a pink lip colour provided the finishing touches.

Jung Ryeo Won In Stella McCartney - 2012 SBS Drama Awards

Jung Ryeo Won attended the 2012 SBS Drama Awards held at the SBS Prism Tower in Seoul, South Korea on New Year’s Eve with her handsome escort, Lee Dong Wook.

The Asian actress doesn’t seem to be aware that this Stella McCartney ‘Saskia’ gown has been worn by ten celebrities before her, or maybe she does and she doesn’t really care about being number eleven.

This celebrity-favourite bi-colour dress, which cleverly creates a sculpted silhouette, was styled with gold jewels to complement her gold waistband and wavy tresses.

Does this gown still look good the eleventh time around?

Not only was Stella McCartney the most worn designer of the year, her ‘Saskia’ cut-out side gown was the most worn dress of the year.

The gorgeous piece from the designer’s Evening Collection was first worn by Gwyneth Paltrow to the 2012 Grammy Awards, then by Shalom Harlow, followed by Brooklyn Decker and Kira Miro, before making several other red carpet appearances in navy-and-white and all black around the world.

Katherine Jenkins was the only one to ruin the look by not wearing it with the gold waistband.

It even came in a shorter knee-length version which was just as popular.

While you may not agree with this award, I’m sure many of you are not surprised that Stella McCartney is the Most Worn Designer Label of 2012.

What’s her appeal?

Could it be her Savile Row-trained tailoring skills, the fact she’s a girl’s girl, or her undisputed fashion cred which sees every celeb want to be part of Stella’s cool gang?

One thing is for sure, she has many devotees including Liv Tyler, Naomi Watts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rihanna, who are usually the first to be seen wearing her Spring, Fall, Pre-Fall and Resort collections, before being taken up by celebrities all around the world from Tokyo to Madrid and Australia.

Last week, Stella McCartney brought some festive cheer to London’s Mayfair by holding her annual switching on of the Christmas lights at her Mayfair store, sharing the duties with comedians Paul Whitehouse and Vic Reeves.

The designer, who wore a lot of her Resort 2013 collection during Miami Art Basel, selected a weather-appropriate look from her Fall 2012 collection on this occasion.

Dressed in a chic tweed suit with an exaggerated hourglass shape, she styled her look with black tights and those mock-croc ankle boots from her Fall 2012 collection with the white platform, which have been surprisingly popular with celebs.

A gold chainmail clutch completed her look.
