Araya A. Hargate In Salvatore Ferragamo – ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Araya A Hargate In Salvatore Ferragamo - 'All Is Lost' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Araya A. Hargate failed to excite most of you yesterday with her fairy-tale interpretation of a Disney Princess in Zac Posen, however, she has a second chance to impress this evening.

She attended the ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere held at the Palais des Festivals in France wearing a Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012 gown.

The slate-grey fully beaded fringe halter gown with jewel accents was thankfully not styled with any unnecessary jewelery.

During Cannes we expect OTT jewelery due to the nature of the event and heavy sponsorship, but any jewels other than the small studded Boucheron earrings and silver Boucheron ring she possessed would’ve been overkill.

Silver Ferragamo sandals, kohl-rimmed eyes and a slick back hair ‘do completed her look.

‘The Great Gatsby’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Menswear Round Up

‘The Great Gatsby’ Cannes Film Festival Menswear Round Up

After an opening weekend of over $50 million, the stars of ‘The Great Gatsby’ were in attendance for the film’s premiere at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France on Wednesday evening.

Tobey Maguire: The right fit makes all the difference between a great suit and an impeccable one. In a Saint Laurent black suit, Tobey looks incredibly dapper. The pants fit the way they should and the jacket sleeves are just short enough to show off some shirt cuff, giving him a cleaner look than Leo.

Leonardo DiCaprio: Looking very Gatsby-esque, Leonardo wore a black three-piece tuxedo with black satin linings. He looked good as usual, adding a white shirt, black bow tie, and signature slicked-back hair. If his pants were an inch or two shorter it would have been perfect.

Joel Edgerton: Like a true movie star, Joel arrived in a well-cut Ferragamo black three-piece tux with satin peak lapels. He finished it off with a white shirt, a black bow tie, and David Yurman cufflinks. Difficult to decide between Joel and Tobey.

In the end, my best dressed went to Joel because of the details, like the black button on the jacket and the lined pockets. I also preferred Joel’s shoes to Tobey’s.

Salvatore Ferragamo Celebrates 35 years of the iconic ‘Vara’

Salvatore Ferragamo Celebrates 35 years of the iconic 'Vara'

On Tuesday night, Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated 35 years of the iconic Vara and the launch of the online project L’Icona curated by photographer Claiborne Swanson Frank in New York City.

Eva Longoria: The TV star opted to wear a white lace macramé sleeveless dress from the Spring 2013 collection, which she styled with white studded pumps and a gold-trimmed signature Ferragamo ‘Medina’ clutch. You may remember that Olga Kurylenko wore a short-sleeved version of this dress while being interviewed on Extra during her ‘Oblivion’ promo tour.

Lily Aldridge: Also opting for a Spring 2013 Ferragamo look, the model wore a textural cotton shift dress with luxe leather panels for an urban spin on a classic LBD. Christian Louboutin pumps with an asymmetrical strap added a sleek touch to her look.

Azealia Banks: Did she match her hair and eyebrows to her pants or her pants to her hair and eyebrows? This is the question I would like answered. Either way, this isn’t one of her best looks.

L’Icona is a limited edition service which launched to the public online for the first time icona.ferragamo.com, which enables you to customize the iconic ‘Vara’ mid-heels.

Menswear Midweek Round Up

Menswear Midweek Round Up

Chris Hemsworth: For the 50th Anniversary Wool Awards in Sydney on Tuesday, the Australian actor sported an Ermenegildo Zegna light-grey three-piece suit with notch lapels. He paired the well-cut suit with a white shirt, a matching patterned tie, and black leather boots. I prefer this finished look to his usual unbuttoned-shirt look.

Matthew McConaughey: After stepping out in a wildly perfect Vivienne Westwood MAN suit for the ‘Mud’ screening, Matthew returned to his usual brand in a Dolce & Gabbana classic black suit from the sartorial collection for an appearance on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’. His conservative notch-lapel suit was finished off with a white shirt and black lace-up shoes. I liked the multicoloured suit more, but this was the perfect casual look for a late show.

Brad Goreski: Opting for a loud red carpet look, Bravo’s Brad Goreski wore a Ferragamo yellow double-breasted suit from the Spring 2013 collection for the 24th GLAAD Media Awards in LA on Saturday. It’s incredibly bright and features just one set of buttons, making it even more difficult to pull off. Brad is zany enough for it, but I don’t think it fit as well as it could have. It did go well with the light-blue tab-collar shirt and the green-and-yellow tie, though.

Olga Kurylenko In Salvatore Ferragamo – Extra

Olga Kurylenko In Salvatore Ferragamo - Extra

Olga Kurylenko filmed an appearance on the show ‘Extra’ at The Grove in Los Angeles yesterday.

The ‘Oblivion’ actress wore a structural Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2013 dress with shoes from the same collection.

This dress is definitely self-serving, in that its structural design and thick fabrication wouldn’t do anyone’s figure any favors. Fortunately, the lovely Olga would likely look good in a paper sack, and manages to pull this look off.

Her simplistic makeup and pony, along with the perfect shoe pairing makes this is a win for me. Do you agree? Or do you find the dress just too awkward to wear gracefully?

2013 Logie Awards

Logie Awards 1

A constellation of starlets came out to celebrate the small-screen at Aussie TV’s biggest night, the 2013 Logie Awards. The red carpet was on fire yesterday at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, Australia, as gowns and glam took their starring roles.

Rebecca Judd: The model and TV presenter strutted out her svelte frame in a daring corseted creation by J’Aton Couture. The design duo behind J’Aton is a favourite of hers, as they also designed her wedding gown. But I wasn’t quite saying ‘I do’ to this number. With all the sheer chiffon paneling, glinting gold belt and the metallic netting, I could have done without the shoulder and sleeve detail—and that high ponytail ‘do.

Samara Weaving: ‘Red’ and ‘lace.’ When used together, they have the potential to commit the most serious of fashion sins. Not so on this Australian actress who was stunning in Steven Khalil, the designer darling of the Logies. With this sweeping gown and its tastefully see-through bodice, it’s not hard to see why.

Jesinta Campbell: The former Miss Universe Australia showed her pageant best in this glittery Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012 midnight-blue gown. The criss-cross backside of the dress and the Lanvin chain reverse-necklace were far more intriguing than that ubiquitous plunge front. The clumsy black clutch didn’t fit in, and I would have liked to see Jesinta’s hair swept into a chic updo on this occasion.
