Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds joined Emma Stone and Blake Lively on the red carpet on Sunday afternoon at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 Theater in New York City for the premiere of ‘The Croods’. They both wore navy, but rocked two very different looks.
Nicolas Cage: Wearing a Ferragamo peak-lapel suit boded well for the 49-year-old actor. It featured two buttons – which shouldn’t both be buttoned – to which he added a simple white shirt. A pair of black lace-ups finished off the look. Nicolas kept it simple, which was smart. The suit fit him well and the trouser length was perfect. We have taken issue with several other actors in recent weeks wearing suits with pants that were way too long.
Ryan Reynolds: Ryan dressed down for the premiere, looking casual in Gant Rugger. His outfit, from the top down, consisted of a well-fitted three-button navy jacket over a deep-neck navy sweater with a shawl collar and slim-fit navy pinstripe pants. To break up the deep-blue hues, Ryan opted for a white crewneck shirt underneath his sweater and a pair of brown leather lace-ups. I liked the look because everything fit very nicely, but it may have been a bit too casual, even for a premiere for an animated movie. A suit sans tie probably would have made a better impression. Never thought I’d say this, but I wish Ryan had taken a tip from Nicolas Cage. Weird, I know.
All in all, both actors looked good. Their film ‘The Croods’ is set for release on March 22 in the US.
