11th Annual GRAMMY Week Event Honoring Alicia Keys (in Saint Laurent)

Alicia Keys was the women of the hour at the 11th Annual GRAMMY Week Event, which was held in her honor, at The Rainbow Room on Thursday (January 25) in New York City.

The singer mixed hard and soft elements with her Saint Laurent Fall 2017 ensemble.

There were juxtapositions in her embellished top and the pleated leather skirt themselves, but when they were combined together, the impact was even stronger.

The sharp shoulders strengthened the girlish nature of the pleated skirt, with the Alaïa ‘Bombe’ sandals heightening the dynamic mix.

The black colour palette ensured everything came together in an edgy, glamorous finish.

16th Sidaction

There was a bounty of beauties at the 16th Sidaction event, which is part of the Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring Summer 2018 season, on Thursday (January 25) in Paris, France.

Melanie Thierry: I did a double take when I saw the actress as her blonde hair has been dyed a striking ginger shade. It was offset with the jeweled embellishment on her Miu Miu outfit. The beige coat could be deemed too casual by some, but it had an insouciant allure.

Isabelle Huppert: The ‘Elle’ actress proved the beauty of simplicity in an Azzaro Fall 2017 Couture gown. The diagonal detailing had a captivating wrap-around event that showcased her incredible figure.

Elodie Bouchez: Skinny pants plus a mannish blazer is a favourite silhouette of many. She took her Saint Laurent separates further adding a shimmering shirt and supersized earrings. It could have had 80s power suit connotations, but the dark colour palette and tailoring made it feel au courant.

Revlon’s ‘Live Boldly’ Campaign Launch

Gal Gadot was joined by a trio of gorgeous models to help launch Revlon’s Live Boldly event on Wednesday (January 24) in New York City.

Ashley Graham: This was a typically bold design from Christian Siriano, but I kinda wish the look consisted of just that gorgeous wine hue. Schutz ‘Caiolea’ black patent pumps complete her look.

Imaan Hammam: The model looked electric in her metallic blue Saint Laurent Fall 2017 dress. This style of dress is kinda typical for models, but with her teased tresses and embellished booties she made this look her own; presenting a look that had an equal measure of tough and alluring.

Adwoa Aboah: Decked in head-to-toe Prada – plus John Hardy jewels – I love how this look marries both Asian and modern fashion sensibilities.

2018 SAG Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Many of the fellows at the 2018 SAG Awards weren’t content to just wear the standard black tux, making for quite the scene-stealing list of looks on Sunday (January 21) in LA.

Noah Schnapp: The young ‘Stranger Things’ star continued to win my affection with a lesson in all that is dapper in his custom-made velvet tuxedo by Stella McCartney paired with Jésù-SégunLondon slipper-style shoes, a Brackish bowtie, and Mrs Bow Tie pocket square. What a charmer.

Sterling K. Brown:
The ‘This Is Us’ star won the best actor award, and his look was equally stellar in this Giorgio Armani tuxedo styled with a Chopard timepiece and cufflinks. This was a lesson in the appeal of classic style with a modern twist thanks to the shades and the slim-line, slightly cropped proportions.

Dacre Montgomery:
I liked this Giorgio Armani ensemble for its unorthodox twist on the traditional tux in the chocolate-brown hue and exaggerated shawl label. Wearing his dress shirt unbuttoned at the top added a rebellious flavour that actually echoed his ‘Stranger Things’ character quite well. Montblanc cufflinks completed the look.

2018 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Black was of course the shade of the night at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) with celebrities putting their own interpretations on the dress code.

Kelly Clarkson: The singer’s custom Christian Siriano gown will likely draw comparisons to Mary J. Blige’s Alberta Ferretti look because of the contrasting one sleeve. The dramatically full skirt on Kelly’s matched the joy of the shimmering gold fabric. The pockets were a delightful addition.

Allison Janney: The Best Supporting Actress winner’s Mario Dice dress was captivating with the sleek fluidity of the skirt contrasting the beautiful detailing of the bodice. This reinvigorated cut-outs.
