2017 amfAR Gala Cannes Model Roundup

The models were out in force for the amfAR Gala Cannes on Thursday (May 25) during the Cannes Film Festival.

Elsa Hosk: Striking a pose with a distinct pink, pinup mood, this Ermanno Scervino Fall 2017 gown had all the hallmarks of boudoir dressing with the exposed corset and sheer lace—distracting black heels notwithstanding.

Bianca Balti: What’s this? A model not baring it all? Bianca went for a more conservative stance in a Dolce & Gabbana black gown that oozed of old Hollywood glamour when styled with finger waves, statement jewels, and Gianvito Rossi shoes.

Joan Smalls: Between the length, the ubiquitous slit, and the collar-style neck piece, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture dress paired with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and gigantic hoop earrings. Hip-hop, tribal glam?

Trophée Chopard Ceremony

A range of stars indulged in a range of sparkling looks at the Trophée Chopard Ceremony on Monday (May 22) as part of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Marion Cotillard: None shone more brightly than Marion who took my breath away in a Halpern Fall 2017 masterwork styled with a diamond collar necklace. I could gush on and on about the fantasy of the design’s radiant, colour-swirled paillettes, the unexpected mod edge of the pants, and the impossibly long, shimmering train. But, we should just let the look do the talking.

‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ brought more lovelies to the red carpet on Monday (May 22).

Jourdan Dunn: Jourdan was not ready to give up her sheer ambition yet, after her see-through jumpsuit moment. This Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture gown was an improvement, as it did resonate with a sense of romantic enchantment in its gilded embroidery. The non-butt-cheek-baring bodysuit also worked in its favour.

Izabel Goulart: I love the subtle lustrous tone of this white Ralph & Russo Couture embellished gown along with its streamlined silhouette that glided over Izabel’s statuesque figure.

Chopard, Vanity Fair and HBO Cannes Parties

A Vanity Fair and HBO dinner party was held on Saturday (May 20) as part of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, with a group of glamorous gals in attendance.

Julianne Moore: While the actress did stick to a darker colour palette, she brought a dose of whimsical fun in this Chanel Resort 2017 embellished gown with multi-hued, feathered pouf sleeves. Exchanging the pink sash for a black one along with a sleek bun and Chopard jewels ensured plenty of her signature modern elegance was brought to the table.

‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The premiere of ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ on Sunday (May 21) brought a number of other stars to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.

Clotilde Courau: Clotilde brought a gilded touch to the proceedings with her embroidered Georges Hobeika gown. Just don’t look too closely at the nude illusion components that provided a slightly distracting tint to the majestic gold filigree look.

Barbara Meier: Electric blue will always be one of my favourite colours, especially with the fiery red locks of Barbara’s. So, I’m not sure why I wasn’t completely in awe of this Alexis Mabille Couture look. I blame the stiff, structured silhouette of the off-the-shoulder bodice that seemed a bit awkward.

Laetitia Casta: The slashed-to-there look comes back yet again in this Saint Laurent Fall 2017 gown, and in case you had any chance of missing the thigh-high slit, this one’s embellished in crystals. It’s nothing revolutionary for Cannes, but a sleek bun would have been in order to better highlight her gorgeous earrings.

‘Ismael’s Ghosts’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

More stars took to the red carpet for the 2017 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and premiere of ‘Ismael’s Ghosts (Les Fantomes d’Ismael)’ on Wednesday (May 17).

Lily-Rose Depp: Her creamy-white Chanel dress had something of a Grecian goddess vibe. She embraced the embellishment by styling the look with gold Chanel Fine Jewelry and Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ sandals

Charlotte Gainsbourg: Like Robin Wright, Charlotte dared to go short in a Saint Laurent silver-studded mini. Was it a chic, fun look? Sure. Was it right for opening night? I’m not convinced.

Eva Herzigova: More metallic came out to play in Eva’s Roberto Cavalli Couture gold-flecked gown that was a stunning way to see the designer represented at Cannes. A Roberto Cavalli Spring 2017 antique gold leather clutch, Roberto Cavalli Resort 2018 platinum sandals and Chopard jewels completed the dazzling look.

Robin Wright In Saint Laurent – ‘Ismael’s Ghosts’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Robin Wright turned on the glitz for the opening ceremony and premiere of ‘Ismael’s Ghosts (Les Fantomes d’Ismael)’ at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 17).

In a sea of long, dreamy confections, a short dress like this Saint Laurent Fall 2017 crystal-embellished design is bound to stand out—for better or worse.

In this case, the ‘80s-inspired, bold shoulder-frock just seemed out of place with its loose draping and slouchy sleeves.

The lacklustre black pumps didn’t do anything to dress up the effort either.

Great as a rocker-chic look for a snazzy little after party, perhaps. But I would have wished for more at the Cannes opening ceremony.

Chopard High Jewellery Collection completed the look.
