A Week In Michelle Monaghan’s Closet Wearing Lanvin, Sally LaPointe & Roksanda

A Week In Michelle Monaghan's Closet Wearing Lanvin, Sally LaPointe & Roksanda

It’s been another busy and stylish week on the red carpet for Michelle Monaghan, who attended three events in LA, showcasing three very different looks.

2014 Hamilton Behind The Camera Awards: On Sunday (November 9) the actress looked pretty, keeping the hair and makeup very simple and wearing a Lanvin Resort 2015 green cocktail dress with a tiered skirt styled with snakeskin Louboutins and a green and gold-tone Ferragamo clutch.

AFI Fest Special Tribute to Sophia Loren: Opting for a bold lip colour and wavy tresses, Michelle wore a Sally LaPointe Resort 2015 layered dress crafted from alligator skin for quite an unusual look – one perfectly styled with Christian Louboutin heels and a Lanvin clutch.

Iraq And Afghanistan Veterans Of America – 10th Anniversary Heroes Gala: Last night (November 13) the actress made it a trio of gorgeous looks, this time wearing a Roksanda Fall 2014 felt and bonded jersey dress coat in a fitted A-line silhouette with short sleeves and geometric colour-block panels throughout. Caramel Louboutins with a colourful studded toecap, and a gold clutch rounded out this luxe fall look.

As the weather is less than summery this side of the pond, I find myself instantly gravitating towards the Roksanda look – that, plus its impeccable craftsmanship and autumnal hues.

Jessica Pare In Roksanda – 21st Annual Scotiabank Giller Prize Ceremony

Jessica Pare In Roksanda - 21st Annual Scotiabank Giller Prize Ceremony

Jessica Pare attended the 21st Annual Scotiabank Giller Prize ceremony on Monday (November 10) in Toronto, Canada.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress wore a Roksanda Resort 2015 draped dress which of course got the designer’s signature colour-block treatment.

Despite being a huge fan of Roksanda’s work, I failed to get excited about this dress.

I have put it down to two things: Jessica not selling the dress well, because it comes off as quite unflattering, plus she should’ve really worn her hair up; or the mix of colours not gelling that well on this rare occasion.

Either, or both, it’s a rare no from me on what’s been a disappointing week for the girls from ‘Mad Men’.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Kate Hudson In Gucci Première, Jessica Chastain In Roksanda & Eddie Redmayne in Gucci

Best Dressed Of The Week - Kate Hudson In Gucci Première, Jessica Chastain In Roksanda & Eddie Redmayne in Gucci

Kate Hudson was your best dressed this week oozing glamour and elegance in her Gucci Premiere gown, while I was swept away by Jessica Chastain in a Roksanda fit-and-flare bubble jacquard frock.

This look came hot on the heels of a rare misstep for Jessica, so I was delighted to see her back on top form. She really is the girl of the moment.

For the fellas, Eddie Redmayne in Gucci was once again the winner. I considered David Beckham in Ralph Lauren, but was put off eventually by the creases in his trousers.

Jessica Chastain In Roksanda – AFI FEST 2014 Opening Night Gala Screening of ‘A Most Violent Year’

Jessica Chastain In Roksanda - AFI FEST 2014 Opening Night Gala Screening of 'A Most Violent Year'

Jessica Chastain attended the AFI FEST 2014 opening night gala screening of ‘A Most Violent Year’ held at the Dolby Theatre on Thursday (November 6) in Hollywood, California.

After Jessica had me delivering Marvin Gaye’s famous line, “what’s going on?”, the day before, I was delighted to see her back on track wearing a gorgeous Roksanda Resort 2015 frock.

Rendered in a unique bubble jacquard fabric in a navy-blue hue, I love the fit-and-flare silhouette which is simultaneously elegant and fashion-forward considering the fabric.

Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Serafin’ nude platform sandals with crystal embellishments, and Jennifer Meyer earrings accessorized her look, with cool blue eye makeup making her green eyes pop.

I can breathe a sigh of relief as order has been restored. She looks lovelier then ever.

Hailee Steinfeld In Roksanda – BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards

Hailee Steinfeld In Roksanda - BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards

Hailee Steinfeld joined a host of British actors who attended the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday (October 30) in Beverly Hills, California.

The young actress wore one of my favourite designers, Roksanda, selecting a look from the designer’s Spring 2015 collection.

Angled colour-block panels in complementing shades of coral and pink and contoured for a flattering fit, I can’t help but wonder if this dress is perhaps a bit too long for Hailee.

My other thought is that by taking the dress up, the grown up elegant look she was going for would’ve become a more standard cutesy dress for the young actress.

I’m also on the fence about her all-black accessories, including a Charlotte Olympia clutch and Aquazzura lace d’Orsay pumps.

Black allows the dress to shine, but I also wish pink would have been considered, especially with the clutch.

Olivia Wilde In Roksanda – IWMF Courage In Journalism Awards

Olivia Wilde In Roksanda - IWMF Courage In Journalism Awards

Olivia Wilde attended the 25th annual IWMF Courage In Journalism Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (October 28) in Beverly Hills, California.

It’s always a delight to see Olivia on the red carpet, and she made a bold return wearing a Roksanda Spring 2015 black dress which is injected with a sculptural edge thanks to the dusty-blue, coral and black ruffle detail.

Coral sandals would’ve been a nice touch to pick up the ruffle lining, but she kept the styling simple and chic as not to detract from the supreme elegance of this fashion-forward look.
