Scarlett Johansson In Azzedine Alaïa – 2017 Oscars

Scarlett Johansson attended the 2017 Oscars on Sunday night (February 26).

The actress wore a bold printed Azzedine Alaïa gown with Fred Leighton jewels.

I’m immediately drawn to this gown because it’s giving us a much-needed splash of both color and print to tonight’s festivities.

The print is a solid nod to spring, and I love the slightly casual styling choices with the belt and jewelry, although I know some may think it would be better suited to a different red carpet.

Scarlett’s fresh pink lips and cheeks, shimmering eyeshadow and of course her perfectly modern hair are all on point.

Naomie Harris In Calvin Klein By Appointment – 2017 Oscars

Naomie Harris hit the red carpet of the 2017 Oscars on Sunday night (February 26).

The actress wore a white sequin-encrusted Calvin Klein By Appointment gown with Bvlgari jewels and Calvin Klein sandals.

Where to begin with this head-to-toe perfection? The impeccable fit of this dress is a must with this type of gown, and we certainly aren’t disappointed in that regard. The shorter length is a huge change of pace from typical Oscar fare, and then there is that train–I’m going to just need to leave a #fierce here!

And let’s not forget those shoes! Having the pop of bright yellow against her white haute gown is inspired, but the added mirth of the flip-flopped styling is impeccable.

Naomie’s red eyeshadow is striking and perfectly on-trend, and it rounds out this stunning, modern look.

Salma Hayek In Alexander McQueen – 2017 Oscars

Salma Hayek also walked the red carpet at the 2017 Oscars on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood, California.

Sheer in spirit but not in execution, she wore an Alexander McQueen gown that featured a nude lining underneath the black lace styled with Sophia Webster shoes.

Following the more darkly romantic nature of the dress, she styled it with long waves and a bejeweled headband.

Laura Dern In Rodarte – 2017 Oscars

Laura Dern was also in attendance at the 2017 Oscars on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood, California.

Putting on the glitz, she sparkled in a custom Rodarte gown in a midnight-navy hue that heightened its appeal.

Given the sequined effect, not much was needed in the way of jewelry, but I do wish she had opted for a bolder lip and a more elegant hairstyle.

Jimmy Choo ‘Holly’ shoes completed the look.

Nicole Kidman In Armani Privé – 2017 Oscars

Nicole Kidman walked the red carpet of the 2017 Oscars on Sunday night (February 26).

The star wore a custom Armani Privé Spring 2017 Couture gown with stunning Harry Winston diamond and ruby jewelry plus a vintage OMEGA timepiece.

Nicole looks as gorgeous as she ever has, and quite frankly, the photos don’t even do her justice. Her radiance and statuesque grace were breathtaking live, and this lovely nude column gown with the intricate beading detailing was superb.

Her perfect skin, purposefully undone coif and striking red lip complete the look that screams “A-lister”.

Amelia Warner In Emilia Wickstead – 2017 Oscars

Amelia Warner attended the 2017 Oscars on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood, California.

The British star was glowing in her pretty-in-pink Emilia Wickstead Spring 2017 gown.

A caped look always catches my attention, and the polka-dot motif brought a playful sense of levity to this covered-up silhouette.

Charlize Theron In Christian Dior Couture – 2017 Oscars

Charlize Theron hit the red carpet of the 2017 Oscars on Sunday night (February 26).

The actress wore a shimmering Christian Dior gown from the Spring 2017 Couture collection with Chopard jewels.

I am really just not loving this gown. While the idea of the gold gown with the black tulle overlay is a good one, it just doesn’t translate well in real life, and it looks a bit too ‘oil slick’ for my taste.

Also, the modifications to the bodice actually make the gown a bit more boring. I mean, we have seen this silhouette so many times!

I do appreciate the mirth of Charlize’s earrings–massive diamond numbers that are intentionally mismatched, and her pert little ponytail. But other than that, I’m afraid this is a miss for me.
