Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Jessica Szohr wore the blue print version of this Thakoon Spring 2010 dress to this prestigious event.

I’m glad she picked the darker colour, as I would love to see the lighter print saved for the Spring.

Strappy booties and tamed sleek straight hair complete this look.

What? No ankle boots?

Alexa Chung looks really cute wearing a red Jason Wu Spring 2010 dress with a ruffled neckline.

I love those bold red lips.  It’s very rare that we see her wearing make-up.

Ballet flats complete the look, but I’m also missing the black runway waist belt.

Cassie looked really good on this occasion.

The singer donned an off-the-shoulder black and gold striped Brian Reyes draped dress from the Spring 2010 collection.

The dress was paired with open-toe booties.

Georgina Chapman wore a black Marchesa Fall 2009 dress, which has an intricate embroidered detail all over.

The designer paired her dress with the same Christian Louboutin for Marchesa lace ankle boots as the runway model, plus a black clutch from her Spring 2010 collection.

Coco Rocha looked fierce in wearing this Rodarte Spring 2009 black and white dress on the runway, but Karen Elson softens the look by adding black pumps and bouncy curls.

Many of you hated Nicole Kidman’s last L’Wren Scott dress at the CMA’s.

On this occasion she wore a stunning ivory Lanvin tulle lace gown.

Her boobs aren’t squashed, she not too washed out, the black sash tied to the waist is adorably accented with a white rose.

Love it or hate it?

We were so blindly obsessed with predicting Lady GaGa and others would be the first to wear the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 armadillo heels, that we didn’t consider the MOST like person to take them from the runway to reality – Daphne Guinness.

How could we have not even considered her?

The heiress donned the impossible-to-walk-in heels when she hosted this event with Marc Jacobs last night.

Her crazy heels were paired with an aqua marine bubble skirt dress from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection.

I love that gold bejeweled neckline, but hate that silver metal belt she paired with it.   These kind of belts are very much her signature, and they are usually Alaia.

Apart from the belt, my only disappointment is that she didn’t go for one of the embellished armadillo heels.

This may seem strange but every time I look at Daphne, I think this is what Victoria Beckham will look like in about 20 years time.

Many of you have expressed how much you are O.V.E.R Balmain, or that you didn’t get the craze to begin with.

Doesn’t Selita Ebanks make you want to forgive and forget?

As always the Victoria’s Secret model does just to Balmain.

She looks outstanding in this dress, her skin is glowing and the colour is divine on her.

As much as I love this dress, I think her J.Mendel white gown from earlier in the week was a far superior look to be included in the BDOTW poll.

Cassie looks peeved.  Maybe she’s still waiting for her ridiculous hairstyle to grow out.

The singer wore a  long sleeved LBD with cut-outs on the side, paired with a black pair of Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte Fall 2009 thigh-high boots.

Amber Valletta was the most glamorous at this event, giving off an elegant vibe wearing a dark jade RM by Roland Mouret Lombarde gown paired with Nicholas Kirkwood python cut-out platform heels.

Camilla Belle looked stunning and elegant wearing a Marchesa Spring 2010 magnificent dress.

This kind of dress could’ve easily gone so wrong, but the embroidered white tulle cocktail dress with a feather hem and sleeves makes her look like an elegant swan rather than Big Bird.

Black strappy heels prevent this look from being too costumey.

This is second time in a row I haven’t been jumping up and down with exciting with what Demi Moore has worn on the red carpet.

On this occasion her asymmetrical Zac Posen Spring 2010 black dress looks better on the runway, to her halter neck version.

Angie Harmon pairs grey thigh-high Rodate Fall 2009 boots with a maroon wide neck Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2009 dress.

I like the pieces separately, but together it’s a bit of a disaster.

If this is Angie’s attempt at being edgy, I would say stick to being slightly predictable.

Gabrielle Union was my second favourite on this red carpet.

The beautiful actress wore an ivory plunging dress, with draped details on the hips.

Normally she faded into the background, but on this occasion she stands out.

Lisa Edelstein looked effortless chic wearing a black strapless Paule Ka gown adorned with a nude bow.

Debra Messing opted for a pile it high hair ‘do when she walked the red carpet wearing a black long sleeved dress with embellished cuffs.

For a Style event, I’m very much underwhelmed by most on this red carpet.

Keira Knightley and Kristen Dunst are huge fans of Rodarte, so the biggest surprise of this trio is Jennifer Lopez wearing this bronze bow accented Rodarte mini dress.

Keira wore the dress when she posed for the cover of Empire’s 20 Anniversary issue shot by Adrian Green, with fellow Brit actor James McAvoy.

Without a pout in sight, the actress wore her dress with black pointy heels.

All eyes were on Kristen Dunst when took her front row seat at the Rodarte Spring 2010 presentation last month.

She paired her dress with tight black tights despite the soaring heat during New York Fashion Week, plus black pumps.

Jennifer Lopez arrived at the “Fiesta Latina” event at the White House pairing her dress with matching strappy sandals and a box clutch.

Despite the fact that I was initially critical of Jennifer’s decision to wear this dress, her legs look amazing plus I much prefer her shoe choice so she wins for me.

This dress is available to purchase in a midnight blue print version from Collette for €2,635/£2,402.46/$3,917.98

Some things you just don’t try to recreate.

A Michael Jackson classic hit is a perfect example. My second example would’ve been a Rodarte dress, but Bebe have created this silk shred party dress which bears a striking resemblance to a dress from the Rodarte Spring 2009 collection.

They both have a mesh bodice, bands of silk wrapped around the bodice, and a chiffon two-tone skirt.

As always the difference is the price. The Bebe dress cost $229, whereas the Rodarte dress would probably set you back about five figures.

After a long battle between Leighton Meester and Kate Bosworth, Kate was finally voted your Best Dressed this week.

Kate looked radiant, graceful and chic wearing a nude Rodarte dress to a dinner in London.  You admired her overall neutral look, and her complementary accessories.  Many of you commented that she wore the dress, whereas Emma Watson was worn by her Rodarte dress.

I was captivated by Amanda Seyfried, in her Peter Pilotto dress. It was colourful, bejeweled, and had an interesting series of drapes on either side of her hips.

I loved her accessories, especially those strappy gladiator heels.
