Elle Fanning In Rodarte – ‘The Beguiled’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Rodarte hasn’t presented any earth moving looks during Cannes Film Festival – until now.

Elle Fanning glided down the red carpet for ‘The Beguiled’ premiere this evening (May 23) wearing a bespoke lavender tulle gown which was made for a night like this.

The mesmerizing piece wouldn’t look out of place on a Disney movie, such is the whimsical nature of this gown.

Often a gaudy necklace can take the gloss off a stunning look, so I love that she opted for dainty pearls.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has a serious challenger for Queen of Cannes. Elle has been impeccable throughout the whole festival.

Will Elle get your vote?

Sofia Boutella In Rodarte & Prabal Gurung – ‘The Mummy’ Sydney Premiere

Sofia Boutella joined her co-star Annabelle Wallis this weekend for the Universal Celebration of ‘The Mummy Day’ on Saturday (May 20) in Hollywood, California, followed by the Sydney premiere earlier today.

Universal Celebration of ‘The Mummy Day’: It hasn’t been a great weekend for Rodarte, and I’m going to pour salt into the wound as I don’t dislike the dress. It feels too sombre and too heavily sequined for a Saturday afternoon event, although it seems to work for the moody backdrop.

‘The Mummy’ Sydney Premiere: Much like Annabelle, Sofia’s Prabal Gurung Fall 2017 red carpet look had a futuristic vibe about it. Unfortunately, this is missing everything I loved about her Annabelle’s dress; the impact, the excitement and the oldness…I could go on.

Greta Gerwig In Rodarte – ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Greta Gerwig attended the premiere of ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 21).

I didn’t love this Rodarte Spring 2017 gown on the runway, but I didn’t dislike as much as I might have imagined on the red carpet.

Perhaps I was just thankful to see the skirt was lined from its original incarnation.

Aside from that, the lace and dotted tulle layers and the flurry of ruffles and frou was a bit overdone, albeit whimsically so.

The Monique Péan jewelry was a proper accessory; the same cannot be said for her platform black shoes that were evidently a distracting necessity given the length of the dress.

Nicole Kidman In Rodarte – ‘How To Talk To Girls At Parties’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Having skipped the photocall, Nicole Kidman made her first appearance on the red carpet for the ‘How To Talk To Girls At Parties’ premiere during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival this afternoon (May 21).

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for; and if you are anything like you are bitterly disappointed by this Rodarte Fall 2017 offering.

Even with all the embellishment this whole look reads grannyish to me.

My exact reaction was, “Oh dear god no”, especially after what’s been an amazing 2017 for Nicole on the red carpet.

The proportions are all wrong, therefore this blouse looks like a crop top.

Thankfully Nicole has several more projects to promote during this festival, and therefore time to turn this around.

Netflix FYSEE Kick-Off Event

Netflix’s FYSEE Kick-Off event took place on Monday (May 7) in Beverly Hills, California, with plenty of young talent hitting the red carpet.

Brit Marling: Favouring modern minimalism Brit’s Louis Vuitton vibrant red dress was of course styled with LV ankle boots; as it would appear these dresses were not made for those who favour sandals.

Gillian Jacobs: The actress’ love for colourful prints took a back seat when she opted for this romantic Sandro black lace embellished dress. It’s a change of pace which paid off nicely, mostly due to the styling which included a Jennifer Behr headband. I’m glad she didn’t try to take this too far down a goth route.

Natasha Lyonne: The ‘OITNB’ actress’ Rodarte dress certainly doesn’t shy away from print, yet I still feel a bit underwhelmed.
