Front Row @ Rodarte Spring 2018

It was Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s first time to show in Paris, and their Spring 2018 presentation on Sunday (July 2) during Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week featured a trio of stars who were in attendance to take in the garden-centric setting.

Kirsten Dunst: I loved seeing this Fall 2017 blouse and skirt stripped down from its more overwrought original presentation, as it allowed the romantic side of its edgy, gothic beauty to shine. While a sleeker bun would have not gotten in the way of the ruffled, tulle shoulders, her curls did bring a relaxed femininity to the look that I could appreciate.

Brie Larson: Keeping the Rodarte jewels, including the highly decorative, statement earrings and bracelet, intact, Brie likewise embraced the darker whimsy of this Fall 2017 spidery lace dress. I am glad she nixed the boots in favour of a sleeker sandal.

Tracee Ellis Ross: Tracee can always be relied upon to embrace a quirky style viewpoint, but I couldn’t get on board with this black-and-white Fall 2016 lace dress—most especially because of her unusual selection of the beige Fall 2017 motorcycle jacket in ditzy florals that she wore atop it. Rodarte jewels in the form of that singular earring only made the look more clunky and confused.

Elle Fanning In Rodarte – Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Elle Fanning’s love affair with pretty dresses shows no signs of letting up after a typically ethereal appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

The actress donned a Rodarte Fall 2017 pink bustier and lace skirt imbued with ruched lace details which felt utterly indulgent and girlish.

I particularly love the metallic tulle skirt which has elements of fantasy with its uneven hem and sheer panels.

Some might wish that Elle incorporated some of the lookbook’s edge into her outfit, but I love that she presented a more paired back look which was totally in tune with her effortless style.

What do you make of this look?

Sarah Paulson In Rodarte – 2017 Tony Awards

Sarah Paulson looked radiant on Sunday (June 11) as she attended the 2017 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The breath-taking Rodarte Fall 2017 collection gown showcased the designer’s love of all things layered and lace.

With a sheer barely-there neckline and pearl embroidery, this gown is the epitome of femininity and softness. I love how the ‘American Horror Story’ actress counters the gentle romance with a plum Judith Leiber clutch and similarly toned lips.

A special mention for the Irene Neuwirth jewels which elevate this ethereal look to stratospheric status with soft, on-trend wave, completes this look.

Utter perfection, I don’t think it could be improved upon at all, do you?

Sofia Boutella In Rodarte – Saks Fifth Avenue ‘The Mummy’ Window Display

Saks Fifth Avenue’s window unveiling to promote new movie ‘The Mummy’ took place on Wednesday (June 7) with the main star Sofia Boutella in attendance.

Donning a radiant gown from Rodarte’s Fall 2017 collection, the nostalgic tiered skirt and frill collar details were given new season edge with an other-worldly metallic shine.

Cinched in at the waist, I would have liked to have seen her adopt more of Rodarte’s bohemian vision for the dress.

Sofia finished off her look with a pair of pointed gold heels and added a grunge touch with black nail polish and relaxed waves.

Rachel Bilson In Rodarte – 2017 CMT Music Awards

Rachel Bilson brought some cool city style to the 2017 CMT Music Awards in Nashville on Wednesday (June 7).

Marrying ruffles and leather, the actress rocked her Rodarte Fall 2017 look. Far from being schizophrenic, this look brought together the actresses to signature aesthetics, feminine and edgy.

The bell sleeves, frilled blouse, and high-neck could have looked prim were they not paired with studded belts and distressed leather. I just wish the cute ankle tie shoes could have been replaced with some badass boots and the wispy hairstyle for a slick back ponytail.
