Greta Gerwig In Rodarte – 2018 Oscars

Greta Gerwig was a bright spot on the red carpet of the 2018 Oscars in Los Angeles on Sunday (March 4).

The history-making nominee wore a custom Rodarte gown while a unique diamond and sapphire necklace.

It is no secret that bright yellow is my favorite color for the red carpet, and this has to be the richest, bright yellow I’ve ever seen. You know what that means? I’m in love! Of course, the delicate appliqués and beading don’t hurt anything, either!

Staying true to her indie princess style, Greta’s waved short bob is modern and chic.

Are you as much of a fan of this cheerful look as I?

Danai Gurira In Rodarte – 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Danai Gurira attended the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (March 3) in Santa Monica, California.

This elaborate Rodarte Spring 2018 creation conjured from tiers of chiffon possesses the nonchalant elegance we’ve come to expect from the label.

I love how her sunburst Joan Horing earrings perfectly complement the yellow palm print on her dress.

Yellow sandals would’ve been my choice, but the ‘Black Panther’ star opted for Roger Vivier ‘Star’ mules instead.

Tessa Thompson In Ralph & Russo Couture, Alberta Ferretti & Rodarte – Pre-Oscars Events

Much like Danai Gurira, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ star Tessa Thompson has been busy attending pre-Oscar events in LA.

2018 Essence Black Women In Hollywood Oscars Luncheon: Was this dazzling Ralph & Russo Spring 2017 Couture dress a bit OTT for a luncheon? Some might say yes, but I would say no. Evoking flapper girls of the Jazz Age, the look serves up elegance rather than over the top pageantry. Piaget jewels and white Christian Louboutin pumps help ground the look.

Vanity Fair and Lancome Paris Toast Women in Hollywood: I loved the 80s nostalgia imbued within her gold lame Alberta Ferretti Fall 2018 look which stayed on the right side of retro. With gold Giuseppe Zanotti platforms continuing the retro vibe, the Adeam white bag felt very much out of place.

‘A Beautiful Future’ Campaign with Fem the Future: With her Rodarte black, fuschia and yellow ostrich feather coat taking centre stage, the actress opted for simple separates as not to overcook the look. Casadei boots plus a stylish Cult Gaia ‘Lilleth’ tote, defined by its sculptural approach to design, added a fashion forward edge.

Millie Bobby Brown In Rodarte – The BRIT Awards 2018

Millie Bobby Brown made an appearance at The Brit Awards 2018 on Wednesday (February 21) in London, England, joining Camila Cabello and Paloma Faith.

Like Haim, the ‘Stranger Things’ star wore a dress from the Rodarte Spring 2018 collection.

Many have critiqued the actress for sometimes dressing much older than her 14 years. This ruffled gown shows her stylish credentials and presents a sophisticated finish without reading too maturely.

There’s still a sweetness and innocence with the pale pink Tabitha Simmons ‘Connie’ quilted satin sandals and the lined bodice.

She decided against the floral corsages and headpiece from the runway and only carried a single white rose to show solidarity with the Time’s Up movement.

If you are having a mild case of deja vu, that’s because this is the shorter version of Kirsten Dunst’s Rodarte gown from the same collection.

Repossi jewels completed her look.

Haim In Rodarte – The BRIT Awards 2018

Haim, who are up for the International Group Award, went for a romantic look this evening (February 21) at The Brit Awards 2018 in London, joining Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding.

The sisters were all in looks from the Rodarte Spring 2018 collection with floral crowns and white roses unifying their ethereal ensembles.

Este Haim: The tones in the print might be on the subdued side, but this certainly is no wallflower look with the ruffles, cape and golden flower corsages accenting it. There’s a bohemian quality to the style that feels very authentic to her.

Danielle Haim: Opting for bold colour rather than prints, the eldest sister went for a ravishing red ensemble. She decided against a red lining, which I’m sure will displease some. I’m in favour of the openness around the neckline and part of the legs as it makes the different layers more evident, but I would have preferred a red lining along the waist and bottom half are to prevent it from looking quite so naked. A golden bow belt cinched the entire thing together, with Stuart Weitzman ‘Clingy’ boots rounding out the look.

Alana Haim: Another beauty in ruffles, the youngest Haim sister looked angelic in layers of shimmering white. The open neck with black details prevented the dress from becoming saccharine and provided welcome relief from the frills. As much as I love seeing the sisters pose together, I would also like to see them photographed separately so we could better take in all of the magical elements of each look.
