Sarah Paulson In Rochas - 2014 SAG Awards

Sarah Paulson hit the red carpet at the 2014 SAG Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday (January 18) in Los Angeles.

The ’12 Years a Slave’ and ‘American Horror Story’ actress wore a white, Rochas dress with a Roger Vivier clutch, Manolo Blahnik shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

It’s an unusual dress combining sweet ruffles, a 1950s silhouette and a petticoat-esque skirt but there’s something very charming about it. Sarah is even pulling off the always-difficult ankle length.

A brand-new bob haircut and hot pink lip keeps Sarah’s look modern instead of cutesy.

I love the look more and the more the longer I look at it but I also expect many will disagree. What do you think?

Lena Dunham In Rochas - 'Girls' Season Three Premiere

Lena Dunham attended the season three premiere of ‘Girls’ held at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Monday (January 6) in New York City.

Towards the end of last year, it was apparent that Lena was making a concerted effort when it came to her red carpet looks, and I have the feeling that has continued into 2014.

The funny gal wore a Rochas Spring 2014 silver crystal-embroidered and bonded-silk sleeveless gown styled with complementary sparkling pumps.

Opting to wear the look sans jewels, she slicked back her tresses, opting for smoky mocha eyes and a glossy lip.

Is Lena still on the right track, or are you waiting for her awards-season frocks to judge if she has really turned a corner style-wise?

Sarah Jessica Parker In Rochas & Sonia Rykiel - 'The Commons Of Pensacola' Opening Night

Sarah Jessica Parker attended ‘The Commons Of Pensacola’ Opening Night in New York City yesterday evening.

While I am the first to complain about an obscuring leather jacket here and a cross-body bag there, SJP’s look could not be more perfectly styled on this occasion.

With her rose gold silk lamé pleated Rocha Spring 2014 dress being a tad too flimsy for a night out in New York, especially considering she left by taxi, the actress added a Sonia Rykiel Spring 2014 copper and blue-trim jacket, elevating the festive nature of her look.

Leaving her Manolos at home on this occasion, she accessorised with shoe designer of the moment Sophia Webster, with Fred Leighton jewels completing the look.

I love that she keeps the spirit of Carrie Bradshaw alive with her eclectic red-carpet looks.

You weren’t too crazy about her previous Giles look, so how does this one fare for you?

Olivia Palermo In Rochas - Rochas Madrid Event

Olivia Palermo, who is the face of Rochas’ new fragrance, ‘Les Cascades de Rochas’, attended an event at the French embassy in Madrid, Spain in celebration of their collaboration.

The brand ambassador wore a Rochas ivory jacquard short suit.

I pondered as to what was bothering me about this look, and I decided that it wasn’t the necklace worn over the collar, but the red lip colour.

For me, this dominates the look, so I find it hard to appreciate the finer points of this look.

Known for her love of embracing the high street, Olivia opted to wear her Zara cut-out booties for the second time in a row.

Andrea Riseborough In Rochas - ‘Oblivion’ Rio de Janeiro Premiere

Andrea Riseborough joined Olga Kurylenko on the red carpet for the ‘Oblivion’ Rio de Janeiro premiere, held at the Cine Odeon Petrobras yesterday evening.

After stunning in Elie Saab Couture, my heart sank a little when I saw her in this Rochas Spring 2013 dress.

Firstly, I’ve never been a fan of brown dresses on the red carpet. It rarely works for me.

Secondly, it instantly reminded me of the Rochas Fall 2012 dress which Emma Stone wore during her ‘Spider-Man’ Tokyo premiere – a dress I also didn’t like.

I would’ve much preferred it had Andrea worn Look 35, the floral version of her dress. The colours are more appealing and would’ve made a greater impact for me.

On the plus side, I do love the style of the corseted dress, and the yellow shoes are heavenly.

Do you have an aversion to brown dresses on the red carpet like I do?
