Rihanna In Rihanna for River Island – Out In New York City

Rihanna is her own best brand ambassador: when talking about her River Island Fall 2013 collection she said “I literally designed everything I want to wear – exactly how I want to wear it”.

That statement rang true because for the second day in a row she wore three pieces from her collaboration with the British retailer, which is still yet to be released.

Mixing high street with high-end, she wore a camouflage crop top (£25) with ‘G4Life’ in black on the back, with dark-denim rolled-up jeans (£50) with her ‘R’ logo etched above the pocket.

Her accessories included her ‘Barely There’ camo sandals (£60), with a Givenchy ‘Madonna’ clutch, Le Specs Bowie shades, a gold quilted vintage Chanel cap and a stack of bling completing her look.

I’m glad to see the return of the black cropped ‘do. Are you?

The Rihanna for River Island Fall 2013 collection hits stores and will available at on September 12.

Rihanna for River Island

On Monday the images of Rihanna’s River Island Fall 2013 collection were released by the British fashion retailer; by Tuesday she was wearing two pieces from said collection while out in New York City hailing a cab.

She wore a cropped layered hoodie, which will retail for £40, with black jeans emblazoned with ‘RiRi’ on the waistband and ‘G4Life’ on one leg.

Whether you like this collection or not, you can’t deny the pieces are perfectly in tune with her street style, as perfectly showcased on this occasion, plus the price point is perfect for her adoring fans who want to emulate her sassy street style.

Rihanna for River Island Fall/Winter 2013 Collection

Rihanna for River Island

The Rihanna for River Island Fall/Winter 2013 collection has just been revealed, and I have to admit it’s pretty good.

Like the previous collection it will be divided into two parts, with the first instalment hitting shelves September 12th and a second drop due in November.

The collection – which Rihanna co-designed with Adam Selman – features many everyday pieces that RiRi would (and will) wear herself.

Carrying on the same urban-street-style feel from the first collection, expect sexy sporty separates, camouflage, many cropped tops, beanie hats, denim jackets, baseball tops, mesh tops, underwear, shorts, quilted bomber jackets, onesies, maxi dresses, leggings, ankle-strap heels, knee-high boots, Timberland-esque heeled boots and a backpack.

You can check out the campaign pictures below; head over to River Island to see their behind-the-scenes video and click here to see the full collection.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Emma Stone In Chanel Couture & Cat Deeley In River Island

Emma Stone continues to be your favourite on the red carpet.

She wowed you this week wearing a Chanel Couture ensemble to “The Help” LA Premiere.

Some commented that you were happy to see a young actress like Emma breathe life into Chanel Couture, as you feel someone like Blake Lively doesn’t quite have what it takes to carry the brand successfully on the red carpet.

My favourite was Cat Deeley.

The British TV host brought the British high-street to US audiences on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ by wearing a £80 River Island yellow maxi dress.

Many accused River Island of copying Gucci’s Fall 2011 design, but the fact that Cat makes an £80 dress look like £3,000 dress means she’s doing something right.

The only disappointing thing about Cat’s dress is that it’s not available now.

Cat Deeley In River Island – So You Think You Can Dance

Many of you in the US have fallen in love with British TV host Cat Deeley (which is not hard because she’s adorable).

She showcases impeccable style week after week whilst presenting, ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’

Cat was radiant on Friday night as she hosted the show wearing a dress by British fashion retailer River Island.

The sensational canary yellow chiffon maxi dress with a floral appliqué detail on the neckline, cut-out details and a thigh split, was accessorized with gold jewels and her favourite Jimmy Choo ‘Louisa’ strappy sandals.

This dress is part of River Island’s Hustler collection which pays homage to 70s icons such as Jerry Hall and Bianca Jagger.

Look out for this dress in store when it goes on sale for £80 this October.

Sidewalk Style: Freida Pinto In River Island

It’s not often we get to see Freida Pinto’s street style, because the Indian beauty has been busy working on several projects.

Whilst out shopping in New York City with a friend recently, the actress supported the British high-street by wearing a River Island look.

Her eye-catching River Island striped top was paired with super cut khaki River Island shorts.

Shades, a black back-pack and black open-toe flats completed her urban street chic look.

04.02.11 Press Preview

River Island Summer 2011 Press Day

Yesterday evening I was transported to Marrakesh courtesy of River Island.

The press day showcased their Summer 2011 Moroccan inspired collection which included maxi dresses, palazzo pants, kaftans, embellished sandals, heart-shaped sunglasses, bags and other accessories including earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

The colours, tones, prints and fabrics were amazing just like you’d expect to see at the souks in Morocco.

This spicy collection would look great at summer bbq, on vacation or summer festivals.

After viewing this collections and drinking the delicious cocktails on offer I immediately wanted to book a vacation.

At the press day we were treated to a live look book photoshoot.

The models were undeterred as we watched them strike several poses for the photographer.

The live images were projected on a huge screen and on iPads for live selection of our favourite pictures.
