Richard Nicoll Spring 2012

Richard Nicoll’s Spring 2012 presentation showcased a beautiful dreamy collection of soft pastel pieces on a baby blue, aqua, pink, black and silver colour palette.

Sheer fabrics were layered to give a long, lean, silhouette.

I loved the babydoll shapes, which would make great red carpet mini dress or they could be worn as tunics with a great pair of pants.

We saw underwear showcased as outerwear, loose fitting pants and tops which had a pyjama-like feel them, plus some floral print pieces which were modern and sleek like the rest of this collection.

From this collection I guess that Richard wants us to be comfortable next Spring whilst still being ultra feminine and sexy.

Sam Bryant used Mac cosmetics to give the models a ‘natural’ fresh skin feel. ‘Stick flicks’ were created by using black eyeliner.

Manolo Blahnik provided the footwear.

Kate Bosworth In Richard Nicoll – 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival “Life Happens” Premiere

Kate Bosworth attended the “Life Happens” Premiere during the 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival on Saturday.

Kate looked youthful, summery and fresh wearing a Richard Nicoll Resort 2012 dress.

Her neon pink spaghetti strap dress with a ruffled drop-waist skirt was styled with Chloe embellished sandals and JewelMint jewels.

I love the effortless laidback vibe I get from this look.

Wavy locks and pink lip shade provided the perfect finishing touches.

Florence Welch In Richard Nicoll – SPIN Magazine ’2010 Year In Music’ Party

Florence Welch of ‘Florence and the Machine’ was in New York City last night performing at SPIN Magazine’s ’2010 Year in Music’ party at Don Hill’s.

The British singer has been really upping her game when to comes to performance looks ranging from Elie Saab to Chanel to this gorgeous Richard Nicoll pleated crepe de chine dress from the Spring 2011 collection.

Her pleated mini nude dress has a cape-like detail falling from her shoulders plus a peachy patent neckline and waistband. This was the perfect look for her dramatic performance.

Florence isn’t all about the voice when she performs. She often picks looks that will give her plenty of movement and help fill the stage which is why they all have capes or voluminous sleeves.

Like the model she paired her dress with nude shoes, but Florence opted for suede pumps over peep-toes.

Runway To Sidewalk – Kylie Minogue In Richard Nicoll

Kylie Minogue is back in London following a short stay in Milan where she was front row at the Emilio Pucci and Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2011 runway shows.

Prior to her trip to Milan she was spotted wearing a Richard Nicoll Fall 2010 face print dress, and on this outing she wore yet another Richard Nicoll Fall 2010 look.

The blue blouse and pants with a fold detail isn’t like the uber girlie looks we’re used to seeing on Kylie.

I’m wishing she hadn’t paired this look with the black vest top and that the pants were narrower.

In short I prefer how it was presented on the runway.

Runway To Sidewalk – Kylie Minogue In Richard Nicoll

Kylie Minogue was spotted on the street of London yesterday enroute to her management company.

I’m happy to see the sun is still still shining in London, no doubt it will rain the second I get back.

Wearing superstar shades our adopted Pop Princess looked hot wearing a Richard Nicoll face print dress.

Her silk white T-shirt dress has a distinctive Linder Sterling print which is perfect for a daytime stylish look with an off-beat edge.

Miss Minogue paired her dress with black Jimmy Choo ‘fever’ sandals with a chain detail and a sultry pout.

Work it girl.

Richard Nicoll Spring 2011

Richard Nicoll’s Spring 2011 presentation evoked minimal glamour.

This beautiful collection had a certain androgynous feel to it from the models slick back hair to the architectural lines which had a mix of 40s/70s silhouettes.

On a colour palette of black, white, peach and nude we saw boyish jackets, sheer tees with peplums, fitted PVC dresses, leather pants, leather shorts, key hole dresses, pleated tops with billowing capes and dresses layered over sheer pants.

Nearly all the looks had fluid movements as the models stormed the runway.

I was impressed with their ability to create such a dramatic movement until it became apparent that this was created by a wind machine.

Doh…silly me.

This was one of Nicoll’s strongest collection. Its exciting to see him continue to grow as a designer.

Key accessories included Christian Louboutin heels.

Jewels and belt buckles were created by Erickson Beamon using Swarovski elements and Culter and Gross designed the sunglasses also using Swarovski elements.
