Allison Williams In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 SAG Awards

I had to do a double-take when I saw Allison Williams at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in LA, as I thought I was seeing Dita Von Teese’s doppelganger.

It wasn’t only her porcelain, alabaster complexion contrasted by that dark, retro ’do and red lip that echoed Dita’s signature look. It was also the sharp lines of the shapely corset and slinky, beaded fringe of this custom Ralph & Russo Couture gown.

Allison’s style has recently leapt from safely minimal to more experimental territory, and I think it’s safe to say that the bolder form continued here.

Fernando Jorge and Lena Wald jewels, including an ear cuff, offered a modern take on sparkle that didn’t compete with the all-over embellishment of this sculptural, fit-to-perfection piece.

The shimmying movement of that fringe is really what gives so much life to this dazzling design, though.

Allison’s looks have recently divided the vote. Is this glamorous offering a yay or nay for you?

Angelina Jolie In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

I’m sure many of you are surprised by Angelina Jolie’s Ralph & Russo Couture dress worn to the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) as I am.

While Ralph & Russo are one of her go-to Couturiers, black is usually her colour of choice.

This custom white dress adorned with devoréd ostrich feathers and subtle embellishments at the empire waist gives her red carpet style a new lease of life.

Can you feel it too?

I love the look from head-to-toe. It’s oozing with old Hollywood, A-list glamour.

This is the first time in a while that Angelina has made me stand up and take notice.

Stuart Weitzman ‘Alterego’ pumps and diamond jewels completed her look.

Penelope Cruz In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Penelope Cruz struck a beautiful pose at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

I love the unabashed glamour of this custom Ralph & Russo Couture off-the-shoulder, lace gown that indeed looks precisely like it was made for Penelope—both in fit and style.

Sultriness, sass, romance, and elegance all collided in the embellished design, with the sweeping train adding a dramatic counterpoint to the slimmer silhouette of the sheer dress.

What made the look even more striking were the actress’s jet-black curls that so fittingly matched the gown.

Designer of the Year & Couturier of the Year – Ralph & Russo Couture

You may remember that Elie Saab has been the longstanding king of the Designer of the Year crown, but 2017 ended his five-year reign.

It was none other than Ralph & Russo Couture who captured the crown, ushering in a new form of red-carpet allure for 2017. And, they’ve even entered the royal ranks, with Meghan Markle recently opting for the brand in her engagement photos.

Even though eveningwear may be the London-based label’s sweet spot, the two Aussie designers behind the dazzling designs ultimately prove that variety is the spice of life.

And, that was even more true, as they debuted their ready-to-wear collection for Spring 2018 that brought their distinct breed of luxury to more diverse yet still-dazzling territory.

Luxury took on new meaning—sometimes with girlish whimsy, as in Kaia Gerber’s youthful ruffles. Other times, feathered fun and metallic moxie took front-and-centre stage.

Of course, there’s no forgetting the sweeping ethereality of pure delicacy that defined Lily Collins’ Cannes Film Festival shimmering, pale pastel gown.

Meghan Markle In Ralph & Russo Couture – Official Engagement Portraits

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released three official engagement portraits today via the official Kensington Palace twitter account.

Alexi Lubomirski, who conducted the shoot earlier this week at Frogmore House, Windsor, Kensington Palace, did an amazing job of capturing the couple.

He said “A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms Markle, for allowing me to take their official engagement portraits. Not only was it an incredible honour, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took.”

The soon-to-be Duchess of Sussex was beaming wearing a Ralph & Russo Fall 2016 Couture gown which I’m sure some might be surprised considering the sheerness of the top, but I’m for this modern spin on fairytale moment.

While I know no one will ever compare to the late Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, I’m really hoping Meghan will bring a hint of Hollywood glamour to the palace.
