2018 BAFTA Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Black gowns dominated the 2018 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 18) at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, but the red carpet was by no means boring with celebrities showing their support for the Time’s Up movement in a wide array of striking looks.

Letitia Wright: Showing a darker side of Gucci, the ‘Black Panther’ actress, who was one of the presenters on the night, looks charming in a belted dress. The bug-like embroidery perks up the black velvet base. Some have remarked how the brands looks sometimes suffer from too many details, but this one has the balance right.

Sally Hawkins: The Best Actress in a Leading Role nominee for ‘The Shape of Water’, shone in a Ralph & Russo gown. This is a more sensual look for her with the slashes in the bodice revealing a coquettish hint of skin. I wish she played into the theme more with romantic wavy hair.

Anya Taylor-Joy: Last year’s Rising Star Award nominee embraced the sexy glamour of Dolce & Gabbana in a black lace dress and golden crown. I can already hear the chants of people wishing the skirt was lined, and I must agree.

Angelina Jolie In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 BAFTAs

Angelina Jolie served up no surprised in her favourite colour: black, for the 2018 BAFTAs in London this evening (February 18).

The actress looked exquisite wearing a custom Ralph & Russo Couture velvet gown.

If you or I were a designer, this is what we would create for Angelina. It’s simple, yet breath-taking; enhancing her natural beauty in the process.

You may be having a slight case of déjà vu, only because we’ve seen Angelina draped in black velvet on so many occasion.

Think back to the 2012 Oscars, the ‘Maleficent’ Japan premiere and ‘The Tourist’ Berlin premiere.

Her Graff earrings are stunning, but I have a feeling some of you would’ve wished for a repeat of the emerald earrings worn to the 2009 Oscars.

Lupita Nyong’o In Elie Saab & Ralph & Russo – ‘Black Panther’ Seoul Press Conference and Premiere

Before the London premiere on Thursday, the cast of ‘Black Panther’ headed to South Korea to promote the film in Seoul today (February 5).

Press Conference: Some might look at this Elie Saab black and gold lurex sweater and matching pleated skirt and feel a bit underwhelmed, but that’s probably because we’re so used to seeing the actress in bold colours. I love how the pleats create drama with every sway and that we’re seeing a variety of styles from Lupita during this promo tour. Jewels from EFFY and Sara Weinstock, plus emerald Christian Louboutin ‘Booton MJ’ velvet pumps accessorized her look.

Rita Ora In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 Grammy Awards

After a string of stylish looks, Rita Ora hit the red carpet at the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) at Madison Square Garden in NYC, alongside Bebe Rexha and Janelle Monae.

The ‘For You’ singer wore a fresh-off-the-runway Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 Couture gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

The inky velvet dress straddled the lines of sultry and unabashed glamor.

The rich fabric was emboldened with diamantes around the neckline and thigh-revealing slit. Combined with the structural detailing, it created a futuristic feel which made me like this could have also been a brilliant choice for Lady Gaga.

Rita showed solidarity with the #TimesUp movement with the white rose adorned to her bodice.

Beyonce Knowles In Azzi and Osta Couture & Ralph & Russo – Grammy Salute To Industry Icons Honoring Jay-Z & Roc Nation Brunch

As you know when it comes to styles I worship, Beyonce Knowles has never been on that list. But every now and then she will wear something that will bring me to my knees and give praise to god.

Grammy Salute To Industry Icons Honoring Jay-Z: On Saturday (January 27) in New York City, Beyonce blew me away wearing an asymmetrical, black silk crepe and net fishtail gown by Azzi and Osta Couture. The craftsmanship is outstanding and there was the right amount of sexy appeal without taking it down a tacky path. Bey might have lost some of you with the addition of the beret, but I do love how it gives the look a whole new dimension. Plus I think she was giving a nod to the release of the ‘Black Panthers’ movie next month. This look was fit for a Queen. I just wish she would always give us this level of brilliance.
