Front Row @ Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 Couture

The dreamy Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 Couture show was held on Monday (January 22) during Paris Fashion Week, with a trio of front-row femmes in the house to witness all the confections.

Kylie Minogue: The beautiful blush tone of this silky, asymmetrical gown conveyed a softly romantic quality on Kylie. A darker sandal to match her nail lacquer would have escalated the dramatic effect even more.

Natalia Vodianova: Of course, I was immediately drawn to this electric-blue number, but what heightened my affection were the little details like the buttons down the side, the dynamic patterning, and the swishy, car wash paneling. Modern sophistication at its finest.

Arizona Muse: A pair of red pumps enlivened this girly, embellished black frock. I think a similar bold crimson shade would have been equally fitting for her lip to tie the look together.

Lupita Nyong’o In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 SAG Awards

Lupita Nyong’o was one of the presenters at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in LA.

We typically see the actress in jubilant colours, but I actually didn’t miss any of those bright hues in this majestic, liquid-silver Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture design.

The drama was delivered in the feathered overlay skirt that floated away from the column dress to add a spirit of ethereal whimsy.

Sparkling earrings and metallic makeup rounded out the elegant look.

Tracee Ellis Ross In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 SAG Awards

I was very much looking forward to seeing Tracee Ellis Ross at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) after her striking look at the Golden Globes.

She did not disappoint.

The Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series nominee opted for a snowy Ralph & Russo gown.

The draped shoulder presents a clear Grecian style. But, the gathers being restricted to the waist kept the piece modern rather than cliché.

The red lipstick and earrings popped against the light fabric.

Allison Williams In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 SAG Awards

I had to do a double-take when I saw Allison Williams at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in LA, as I thought I was seeing Dita Von Teese’s doppelganger.

It wasn’t only her porcelain, alabaster complexion contrasted by that dark, retro ’do and red lip that echoed Dita’s signature look. It was also the sharp lines of the shapely corset and slinky, beaded fringe of this custom Ralph & Russo Couture gown.

Allison’s style has recently leapt from safely minimal to more experimental territory, and I think it’s safe to say that the bolder form continued here.

Fernando Jorge and Lena Wald jewels, including an ear cuff, offered a modern take on sparkle that didn’t compete with the all-over embellishment of this sculptural, fit-to-perfection piece.

The shimmying movement of that fringe is really what gives so much life to this dazzling design, though.

Allison’s looks have recently divided the vote. Is this glamorous offering a yay or nay for you?

Angelina Jolie In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

I’m sure many of you are surprised by Angelina Jolie’s Ralph & Russo Couture dress worn to the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) as I am.

While Ralph & Russo are one of her go-to Couturiers, black is usually her colour of choice.

This custom white dress adorned with devoréd ostrich feathers and subtle embellishments at the empire waist gives her red carpet style a new lease of life.

Can you feel it too?

I love the look from head-to-toe. It’s oozing with old Hollywood, A-list glamour.

This is the first time in a while that Angelina has made me stand up and take notice.

Stuart Weitzman ‘Alterego’ pumps and diamond jewels completed her look.

Penelope Cruz In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Penelope Cruz struck a beautiful pose at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

I love the unabashed glamour of this custom Ralph & Russo Couture off-the-shoulder, lace gown that indeed looks precisely like it was made for Penelope—both in fit and style.

Sultriness, sass, romance, and elegance all collided in the embellished design, with the sweeping train adding a dramatic counterpoint to the slimmer silhouette of the sheer dress.

What made the look even more striking were the actress’s jet-black curls that so fittingly matched the gown.
